So I am back after a long break to check things out and was told that you get 60 dungeon tokens for each second box you achieve. However, the second box I only got to choose a weapon, I didn’t get tokens nor a box containing them that the wiki hints at.

Did I do something wrong at my selection time? Is it the weapon ooor tokens?

I really hope your team considers merging the pet specific trainings into the grand master minor rune of the bm line to allow pure beast masters to be actual beast masters capable of bringing out the best of any pet.

Requiring a major rune slot for the meager benefits is just plain silly and they are hogging up multiple rune slots that could be used for other more useful options.

To be honest I only read the first page and I know how quickly these types of threads grow so I’m not going to read every post before my suggestion, however I’m most likely going to list things that have been said since beta and release for rangers.

All that being said, here are a few of my suggestions in no particular order:

Specific Game Mode : PvX due to them being addressed as overall lack of continuity in the Ranger’s mechanics not just a division.

Proposal Overview
Combine Intimidation, Stability, and Rending training and move into the GrandMaster minor (BeastMaster).

Goal of Proposal
It’s obvious that these are just cheap cop-outs of what should be more serious slots of skills. They don’t encourage across the board pet variety as they should and are seldom, if ever, used as a Master point.

Proposal Functionality
If a Ranger wishes to delve so deep into Beastmaster they should be able to innately prove that they are the master of beasts. By moving it into the grand-master minor slot it lets them show proof of just that.

Associated Risks
None really, as noted before none of these are ever rarely actively used due to the meagerness of benefit that they offer per the Major slot. The only slight nerf I could see if the canine slow to be changed from 6.5 second to maybe 3.5 seconds, the other two don’t really benefit all that much due to the low impact that they are. Work will have to be done to make up the lost useless majors though here is some quick suggestions:

3 Beastmaster Major runes that would be a great welcome addition from GW would be the following:
Predatory Season: All healing is reduced by 20%, but you and your pet get a siphoning type strike based on master’s healing, not split between master/pet.
Feral Aggression: You and your pet gain quickness for 2 seconds on criticals (40 second internal cool down).
Toxicity: Damage is enhanced to poisoned/diseased (if they introduce it)/tormented targets by 5%. – This may give the Vipersnest trap some more play.


Suggested Proposal Format:
Specific Game Mode : PvX due to them being addressed as overall lack of continuity in the Ranger’s mechanics not just a division.

Re-design Master’s Bond to persist through pet swap.

Goal of Proposal
This was an odd choice to include on a class where constant switching of pets was not only a necessity but encouraged through many other runes.

Have it persist through pet swap, simple.

Associated Risks
It will give some use to an most otherwise useless tier 1 major slot, I still think the other tier ones will continue to out-class it even if it persists yet will give pure beast master’s something to hold onto.


Suggested Proposal Format:

Proposal Overview
Purely cosmetic, allow pets to grow out of their infant stages in life by the time they hit lv80.

Goal of Proposal
To allow people to feel like they have an actual companion and comrade in battle rather than a secondary collector pet standing next to Garm (they are so tiny! XD)

Proposal Functionality
Allow pets to start small but level to the same size as their wild counterparts by lv80.

Associated Risks
There maybe some complaints of pets being too big and blocking site, but many have been asking for this minor change since beta. At the very least allow it to be a select-able option in the game settings if it’s too much of a commotion.


I’m going to stop there for now, I’m reading other suggestions (though I said I wouldn’t lol) and alot are already covered, things like poison usage, combining out-dated traits, off-hand skills.

I would love to see more GW skills brought back, but that is wishful thinking.

I would also like to see some further love for some of the lesser used off-hands, like the torch and dagger
and perhaps some neater animations on the other weapon lines like that attached to the sword and g.sword, as I absolutely love the serpent bite and bees on sword. Heck, even the axe line is cheaped out on and uses some cheap default axe skin during throwing phase unless you paid for a special item shop skin or have a legendary. I suggest putting the default axe skin only if game details are on lowest level, the rest should throw the axe in hand.

I’d really like to see this option implemented at some point.

Most of the gemstore armors only have one or two components that I’d work-in my characters overall get-sup (I’m all mix and matched) yet I’d have to drop a full 800 or more gems for just one piece of the armor when the rest would just sit in my bank, forever unused.

Simple question, when are we going to see fixes for…say every issue that has been existing and reported multiple times since launch without fixes, and the messed up and jumbled trait lines that are so mix-n-match it’s not even funny?

Or when’s the expected due date for all of the revamps and fixes we were informed were coming “soon” over a year ago by your lead designer mr. Peters who quickly went awol from this sub-forum after his little teaser post?

The summons are not “ravens” as in the description, but more hawk-type bird carbon copies from the hunter horn skill.

Because some people doooo farm dungeon for weapon stats and armor stats if you want to save money, and/or grind for items/money/exp.

To your point, No, you wouldn’t require a “larger” amount of time than grinding the dungeon because your only getting a skin, not the actual armor with stats that may or may not be useful not to mention the experience/gold/ other items. I listed the above price suggestions.

Dungeon skins for luarels

I suggest we get allowed access to dungeon skins (not armor, just skins) to the laurel vendors.

This will allow for people who are able to casually game and complete laurel events to get hard to obtain skins which take days on end to farm, I say days because sometimes groups are completely scarce on some shards.

Lets face it, some times people want to do dungeons for armor skins not the actual armor itself.

My suggested prices:
10 laurels for chest/legs skins.
7 shoulder skins.
5 for boots, gloves, and helm.

Regen definitely helps but the Ai improvement unfortunately is all in your head.

They are still pretty dumb zombies which will sit there dumbfounded while you’re being hammered on random occasions.

Yeah, I was just posting the same thing.

If these “leaked” notes are anything close to what is going to be released we in for some “interesting” changes, and not in a good way for the most part, with the exception to the long bow/shout changes when compared to all other noted classes changes.
Still no word on pets being able to hit moving targets for the huge hit to their damage vs the slight buff we get to lb. No buff to axe main damage either.

Note of missing needed fixes:
Pets able to hit moving targets with their new plastic dentures.
Sword combo chain not locking all combat
Dagger buffs
Change Master’s bond to not lose all stacks on swap since using just one goes against the entire point of the game-play they’ve forced us into.

-Don’t know why the Beast Mastery signet trait is still in the line geared towards bows instead of the beast mastery line.
-Lastly, I was really hoping they’d finally do away or at least lump into one major grand master skill all of the dumb pet specific pet buffs and give us some decent traits in beast master instead of those focusing on using one type of pet.

Here’s the exert concerning rangers:

*“Protect Me”: This ability now breaks stuns.
*Splitblade: Reduced the aftercast on this skill from .4 seconds to .2 seconds.
*Path of Scars: Now pulls enemies on the return flight.
*Long Range Shot: Reduced the aftercast on this skill from .5 seconds to .25 seconds. Increased arrow speed by 15%
*Rapid Fire: Reduced initial cast time by .4 seconds. Increased arrow speed by 15%
*Point Blank Shot: Increased arrow speed by 15%
*Barrage: Increased cripple duration by 50%.
*Muddy Terrain: Decreased the duration from 20s-10s. Increased cripple duration per pulse from 1s->2s. Decreased the cooldown from 30s-25s.
*Lightning reflexes: travel distance has been halved underwater.
*Man o war: 18 base recharge to 25
*Counterstrike: 15 base recharge to 20
*Swirling strike: .6 to .8
*Crossfire: Range decreased to 900.
*Poison Volley: Range decreased to 900
*Quick Shot: Range decreased to 900. Damage increased by 14%.
*Crippling Shot: Range decreased to 900. Damage increased by 14%.
*Concussion shot: Range decreased to 900. Damage increased by 14%. Reduced the aftercast by .25 seconds.
Spirit activated skill range increased from 180 to 240 (360 when traited)
*Call Lightning: Increased damage by 150%.
*Solar Flare: Decreased the cast time from 1.7s to .5s.
*Winter’s Bite: Reduced weakness duration to 3 seconds. Fixed a bug so that it now chills for the 3s (as listed in the tooltip) instead of 2s.
*Enfeebling Roar: Reduced weakness duration to 8 seconds.

Pets
Armor Fish: Bite: Reduced damage by 50%.
Bird: Slash: Increased damage by 15%.
Eagle: Lacerating Slash: Reduced damage by 50%.
Raven: Blinding Slash: Reduced damage by 34%.
Canine: Bite: Reduced damage by 27%.
Devourer: Twin Darts: Reduced damage by 20%.
Drake: Bite: Reduced damage by 27%.
Drake: Lightning Breath: Reduced damage by 17%.
Feline: Maul: Reduced damage by 50%.
Jaguar: Stalking: Critical chance increase while in stealth reduced to 25%.
Jellyfish: Tentacle Slash: Increased damage by 50%.
Jellyfish Blue: Chilling Whirl: Decreased damage by 33%.

Nature Magic
*Vigorous Spirits: This trait has been merged with Spiritual Knowledge.

*Evasive Purity: This trait has been moved to the Master tier.
*New Grandmaster trait – Nature’s Voice: Shouts apply 10 seconds of regeneration and swiftness to allies in a 360 radius.

I’m not saying this rune would completely fix minion masters but I do see a big benefit in both the lore and game-play to them being more immersive when along these types of lines in addition to whatever “tweaks or fixes” Anet decides to do to minions going forward, if ever.

I’ve been brainstorming on what kind of “minor” changes would be needed to make GW2 Minion Masters feel even a little bit on par with their GW ancestors without re-working entire trait/skill sets because lets face-it the GW team is sort of set in their ways for the most part.

So I came up with the idea for a rune set to focus on supporting such a build and would like some feed-back if people think it would be over/under-powered suggestions etc. before I make a formal Suggestion Topic under that forum.

Before I get into the details let me say I understand it is completely niche rune set but so is the build attempted and many of the rune-sets existing now could also be called niche.

I’m thinking it should be a lot of Dolyak type of set, emphasizing master survivability and a slight boost to minions.

Superior Set Stats:
Name: Rune of the Master
1.) +25 toughness
2.) +15 vitality / Minions lose one condition every 30 seconds or Minions have 10% chance to remove a condition (on themselves) on attack.
3.) +50 toughness
4.) 5% chance to re-direct one hit’s damage from you to one of your minions (prioritizing those with most health first). Not sure if this would need an inner cool-down of 10-15 seconds but I don’t see it being really that overpowered without being such a low % rate.
5.) +90 toughness
6.) Your minions regenerate health.

Closing Thoughts:

Since we cannot get a full mini army like we could in GW1 and use blood of the master constantly I think one of the main difficulties in this generation of Necromancers is the down-time the current minions have because of their overall squishy-ness.
1.) I chose toughness as the primary stat to allow the master more survivability and for it to synergize with the minor trait that adds toughness per minion you have summoned.
2.) I haven’t decided the final lvl 2 bonus yet. Would the one less condition every 30 seconds to the Minion (not master) be overpowered? or just provide a tiny bit more survivability. The other option is the 15 vitality to the master for just a little more survivability.
3.) Along the same theme the level four bonus will allow us a bit more of a minion master feel without having to completely add/re-work a skill/trait line, though they still need some work lol.
4.) Lastly, the regen will help in some battles as well as allow for more options for weapons being used outside of having to main staff for its regen capabilities and focusing transfusion every 30-40 seconds.

So I put it to the community for their thoughts on this, would it inspire more minion masters out there? be helpful? over-powered/useless change etc.

All my chars use mix and match. I don’t think any one set is actually good in this game.

Theif:
Norn T3 Shoulder
Norn T1 Gloves, Boots, Legs.
Medium Helm of Whispers.

May change to Norn T3 gloves in the long run but T1 furry-ness is good for now.

Ranger:
Norn T2 Coat, Boots, and Shoulder.
Warden Helmet
Grove Dungeon Gloves
Rubicon Legs (makes the boots look higher due to shin-pads).

Sets I’m working on completing:
Necromancer:
Orian Helm, Chest, and Shoulders.
Svanir Leggings
Acolyte Gloves
Bone Boots

Warrior:
Orian Chest
Svanir Leggings
Gladiator Gloves
Flame Legion Boots

I’m told that map completion gifts are required for all skins, however someone told me you only get two per “account” not per char upon completing the goal. Is this true?

If so is there any way to make these gifts outside of the two you earn?

Myself as well as a few other rangers have already encountered this. Pets running back on top of you without resurrecting… still. Even with said patch notes:
“Pet-revive skills no longer fail to heal their target.”

To be clear, my personal experience is with the downed skill. However others have also stated search and rescue is also affected.

Thought process behind stealth fixes?

So I’ve been wondering,

What is the thought process behind not listing full patch notes?
They must be intentional fixes, but were they not fully tested but patched in regardless hoping for a good outcome?
I think its annoying that we have to find out what may or may not have actually made the list because the full notes were not added.

One quick example would be the bug fix to rangers opening strikes on this Dec. 3 patch. It will now fully proc on any distance where-as before it was very limited and pets also had a hard time triggering it.

So is it intentional that they are left off due to lack of testing?
Did they not actually mean to fix it, just a lucky outcome?
Just lazy?

I’ve never understood the point behind them when they game-play affecting changes to be left off the list and are not just fun easter-egg type scenerios.

It’s due to the fact that there are so many exploits, hacks, and bots in the game. The idea is not to let the user know.

1. Some users will go looking for those exploits, hacks, and bots.
2. People will want to know why people abusing these exploits, hacks, and bots have not been banned. It’s because they can’t catch them.
3. Some people who were using the exploit get upset that it’s no longer available and amazingly have the nerve to come on to this board to complain about it.

Also they could have just left it out by accident, the list was pretty huge.

We’re not talking about exploits but fixes to game-play and skills.

So I’ve been wondering,

What is the thought process behind not listing full patch notes?
They must be intentional fixes, but were they not fully tested but patched in regardless hoping for a good outcome?
I think its annoying that we have to find out what may or may not have actually made the list because the full notes were not added.

One quick example would be the bug fix to rangers opening strikes on this Dec. 3 patch. It will now fully proc on any distance where-as before it was very limited and pets also had a hard time triggering it.

So is it intentional that they are left off due to lack of testing?
Did they not actually mean to fix it, just a lucky outcome?
Just lazy?

I’ve never understood the point behind them when they game-play affecting changes to be left off the list and are not just fun easter-egg type scenerios.

Nothing is definite because they’ve become known for ninja notes in patches already, but personally since I use a strict d/d build I can say I haven’t noticed any significant change. Whip hitting multiples is a nice change but nothing really significant.

Only if life was that simple rolo, most of us still hanging around have ran all those scans, tests, and updates and its still occurring lol.

So its a backend setting with the game if no other game in the world has the same interface issues.

Well I ran two runs on TA explorer runs today after daily’s reset and over 24 hours since my last runs and first run I only got 15 tokens and the 2nd run I got 2…. that’s right, not a typo… 2!

My team mates got anywhere from 45-60 (1st run) to the next lowest was 25-40 (2nd run) all our first and second runs of the day since yesterday morning-afternoon.

That is after going the same path two times in a row (up). Needless to say I just gave-up after that as 17 tokens after two fresh runs of the day was a joke. At least my teammates found it hilarious, I ironically… not so much.
