Objectives
Lux Arcana is a highly-organised, multi-game guild that was founded as a community for European MMO players with a “casual” but “dedicated” play style. By “casual” we mean players that have other commitments in real life such as their job, family or other interests, and whose play time may be fairly random. By “dedicated” we mean players that will immerse themselves fully in each game we play and give 100% to the guild. Please visit our website for further details about our history.
Our objective in Guild Wars 2 is to provide a fun environment for all different kinds of players to enjoy the game to it’s full potential. We don’t limit ourselves to just one aspect of the game and seek to experience everything there is to do in Guild Wars 2. This includes but is not limited to WvWvW, PvE, mini-games, …
Lux Arcana tries to make every player feel at home. Organising events is a way to achieve this. We have dedicated officers who are there to organise events that our players can join. These events include:
WvWvW: Small-scale roaming/siege;
PvE: exploring regions as a group, dynamic events and dungeons; and
Random events: Keg Brawling and jumping puzzles.
While it is not required, we actively encourage players to organise such events themselves.
Recruitment
We Accept
Adults (i.e. 18+) with a mature, friendly and outgoing attitude to life.
Casual but dedicated players who like to play hard when they can! Players used to grouping, contributing and getting involved in a guild. We are NOT a guild for solo players, unsocial players or selfish players. You must be a team player.
Guild Wars 2 enables a player to participate in the game even at level 1, so we have no restrictions on levels. Likewise, with the disappearance of the “holy trinity", we do not limit ourselves to certain combinations of professions. In Lux Arcana, you should play the class you enjoy, not the class we want you to play!
Highly Desirable
Players that are creative or that have strong organisational skills. We want proactive members. Players that show a passion for the game, for helping fellow members and getting things done! In particular we need fighters, explorers, diplomats and players willing to learn everything there is to know about this game.
Players that want to play in groups, get to know the other members of the guild, enjoy helping out otther members in need of help. Whilst it is okay to solo from time to time, players should be actively contributing to the teamspirit of the guild.
Not Acceptable
Immature players. Players that whine, complain and do not accept guild policy. Players with negative attitudes, who are only out for themselves. Aggressive or anti-social players. We do not tolerate l33t speak – proper English please! Keep trash talking to an absolute minimum – in character NOT personal!
Players that have no interest in becoming a part of the guild, that make no effort to introduce themselves towards other players.
Even though Guild Wars 2 offers a multi-guild system, we expect our members to be fully dedicated to Lux Arcana. It is ok to join specialist guilds (e.g. Tequatl guilds) and represent them during their events but you should be representing Lux Arcana at all other times.
Guilds Interested in Merging
Lux Arcana has a 7+ year gaming history, and during that time we have handled numerous smaller guilds merging with us. If you are in a small guild or unguilded group of friends that is looking to merge with a bigger guild then please contact me.

I have been having this issue for a couple of hours as well. It takes a long time to log in and a similarly long time to load a character in. I just managed to get in but was having considerable lag on skills and chat. I just got disconnected again with code 7:11:3:191:101. I am also on EU: Gandara.
I took Marjory’s Journal out of my bank to watch the cutscene again but whenever I try to use it I get the following error:
“You cannot use that command yet.”
I have obviously completed all of the necessary achievements. I think this bug came with the Sky PPirates update as I am sure the Journal was working before that.
I was quite happy to receive the journal with the Delaqua scene, it will be nice to look at it further down the line and reminisce. I would certainly like to see this kind of thing awarded to us for future story content, either in an item for each or a single book that records as we go (similar to the books in the original game). If we were to recieve a seperate “journal” each time then I would like to see a collectibles tab for them as suggested.
Thanks again Anet. ^^
Hey all, I just wanted to share my thoughts on the concluding part of the murder investigation that we received earlier today. Frankly, I was disappointed, not with who the culprit was but how we discovered her. I really enjoyed the cutscene introducing Delaqua and she seems like she will be a great character. I also felt the overall writing for the event was better but the lazy finish really annoyed me.
I was under the impression we’d be playing detective, as we tracked down and spoke to the suspects we would piece the truth together bit by bit. That’s not what happened, in fact the suspects stories had nothing to do with connecting Mai to the murder, they all clearly had contact with the Aetherblades and were tricked/coerced into the part they played but nothing they said could possibly connect to Mai. So how did we know it was her? Through that convenient little Tassi box, now I main Asura and a I love them to bits so I am all for Asuran ingenuity but this is just too convenient. Whilst I am running across Tyria tracking down the suspects, Marjory only has to fine tune a device that instantly identifies the only suspect to not run away as the culprit.
Physical evidence is obviously more reliable than testimony but you just completely ignored the other suspects. “Oh look, she’s glowing, she did it! Thanks for your help, see you later!”. There could have been a Poirot-esque ‘who-done-it’ scene to tie it all together and connect Mai to the part she played and what she actually did. In short, the ending really didn’t do the idea of a murder mystery any justice. I don’t know if this was down to laziness or just keeping it simple but it was disappointing and if we’re to see something like this again (which I would quite like) I just wanted to say that I hope it improves on this. I believe that the writing team is more than capable of producing a quality mystery for us and aside from what I have said here, I did enjoy this tidbit of writing so thank you for that.
There’s at least one other person I know who shares my opinion but I imagine there is quite a few others who found this conclusion to be somewhat lacking? I know the arc continues in a few days, but for all intents and purposes the murder mystery is over since we know who did it.
Here is Vinnt, my Mesmer.

Masquerade Mantle (Rare Crafted)
Noble’s Vestments (Caudecus’ Manor)
Noble’s Gloves (Caudecus’ Manor)
Talhkora’s Leggings (Named Exotic)
Adept Boots (Asura T1 Cultural)
Dyes: Midnight Purple, Silver, Purple, Midnight Fuchsia
Flame and Frost will eventually end, the concluding update is later this month but I imagine it will run until the following update (though I don’t know that for sure). I imagine the achievements will remain in the Achievement panel but will not be obtainable once F&F ends, much like the Hallow’een and Wintersday achievements in the Special Events tab. It’s probably the same for the skins, when F&F ends the tickets will be removed from BLC’s but any tickets you do have can be traded in even after the event I guess.
The short answer though, if you want anything from F&F then now is the time to get it. You can still earn all the achievements by starting at the beginning, check out the Wiki if you need some guidance.

Hi, I just witnessed yet another argument in LA map chat over commander icons in PvE and how it’s useless/waste of money/ego trip etc. Personally it doesn’t bother me and with the advent of Guild Mission I certainly think it has become more useful in PvE (though it was always helpful for any event you might organise with your guild/server in my opinion).
Whatever the reasons for the complaints and following arguments are doesn’t matter. If people genuinely find Commander Icons in PvE to be obtrusive then can’t you add an option to the Map filter to show or hide them like with all the other map icons? Simplest solution to a pointless problem I think and then everyone could be happy about that particular issue.
I’ve managed to get the max 3 targets in PvE fairly often since the patch, it does seem to be precisely the width of the beam but that’s the point right? I still think it’s a great change. ^^
It’s bugged though, as mentioned earlier in the topic, the width is huge hitting the dummies in LA but also I noticed the same on the Ice Pillars during phase 2 of Claw. I was basically hitting every pillar in front of me regardless of it’s position. Possibly to do with ‘objects’ then.
Hey folks, I was getting LA map completion my Ranger when I noticed a change to LA. At the Lion’s Gate PoI you will remember a bridge that led to it. Indeed, the map itself still shows this bridge in the original position but it has actually been moved so that it no longer leads to the PoI and now takes us to a new structure. There’s a few non-interactable NPCs and a Speed Boon NPC but nothing to indicate what has happened.
So, did anyone else notice this and do you know when it happened? It’s been a while since I ran around LA so not sure when it happened.
Thanks Gaile, I got a prompt response from support and they don’t seem to have any flags raised as a result.
Thanks for the answer Michael. I did check the security page and I removed all authorised IP ranges to be safe. I didn’t consider that it might be botters though, I’ll file a ticket to be on the safe side. Thanks again.
Hi, I just wanted to share this and ask if anyone knows what and how it happened. I just tried to log in to the game and the game told me I had the wrong password. I changed it a couple of weeks ago (just before the announcement of mandatory change) and as I have auto-play enabled I have not needed to type in the password since I changed it. Today was no different, I started up the client and waited for it to launch the game, only now I get the wrong password message. I tried logging in to the website and I get the same message. Naturally I suspected that I had been hacked so I have reset the password and now can log in to the site and game again. I have checked my bank and characters, nothing is missing so my question is…what happened?
Edit: Just thought I would add that I didn’t receive any email about attempted logins but I am unsure if that has any bearing.

Was ported to LA for the patch, error occurred in loading. Getting the same error regardless of which character I try to log.
This is a brilliant idea that needs to be seriously considered by the devs. I would love to see this in Orr, it really would make it feel like a proper war against the Risen. Some thought will have to go into the driving force though, to justify the continuing war for those who completetheir story. Maybe a former champion took control after Zhaitan’s demise or something like that. ^^
Yes there is, there is an Asura Gate (big ring with a purple portal) in every city that leads to Lion’s Arch. The entrance to your city will be right behind the place you spawned after the starter instance.
I’ll just add my thanks in here as well.
Thank you, ANet, for this amazing Hallow’een event. There is an incredible amount of content when compared to other MMO festivals and all of it is buckets of fun.
Admittedly I got frustrated at the Clocktower as well, however, when i started getting past the first 15-20 seconds of it I found it quite enjoyable. It took me many hours and many more attempts but I got there in the end and I loved it.
As for the Acts, these are brilliant. They give the whole festival a sense of progression rather than a static thing that you do once then never return. I quite enjoyed the scavenger hunt as I like riddles, my only gripe is the reward. Don’t get me wrong, it looks cool but who wears a book on their back? XD It would make a great Focus skin but of course not everyone can use Foci, I don’t know what a better idea would have been, just saying. :P
With regards to the gem store, I am mostly ok with the way it was done. Being the main funding for the development of the game then there absolutely should be festival cosmetics exclusive to it. I bought the Mad King costume and 2 sets of minis (so I could get the Forge one) and I don’t regret that
. I do kind of regret buying as many keys as I did and in future I feel any festival items from the BLCs should have a better drop rate. I’m not asking for 50% but is 10-15% really too high a chance to ask for?
No, it wasn’t perfect, but this is the first event we’ve got so there was going to be a couple of snags as ANet found out what works and what doesn’t. All in all though, it has been (for me) a truly amazing event worth every second I have spent enjoying it.
Again, thanks ANet and I hope yous continue to deliver such high quality events. I look forward to Wintersday :P
I would love to have the rest of Destiny’s Edge stand by my Rytlock figurine. So yes, ANet, do this for us! =D
So far I have only done AC story mode but something does need to be said about it. As it is technically the first dungeon in the game, I do feel that it needs to be toned down a bit. This is the players first experience at a dungeon in GW2 and you seem to be thrown in at the deep end.
I did it with some guild members, early on our warrior had to leave us which left us with Mesmer, Necro, Ele and Thief. We tried to get another guild member in to fill up but he couldn’t get into our instance (that’s another problem though). Anyway, with 4 of us we managed to get through to and defeat N and K. After K our theif crashed and the game wouldn’t let him back into our instance (again, another problem). So with only the 3 of us left we pressed on as I knew there were only two bosses left, it took a lot of dying and running back but we managed to take down R/V and A. Needless to say it felt good completing the instance despite losing people, especially taking down what I consider the hardest boss in the instance (R/V) with only 3 light armours.
However, boss fights were actually easier than the trash in between and since this is meant to be a players first dungeon experience I think it is a good idea to nerf the trash a little bit. You should definitely still need to coordinate with your group, but AC should work players into doing that in some kind of learning curve. Rather than the bang your head against the wall till it breaks approach just now.
