Hm, I could see the comparison…

Similarities:
GS#1 vs SW#1 = Vulnerability vs Bleeding and Crippling.
GS#2 vs AX#5 = HB may have more damage but WA can evade and move.
GS#3 vs SW#2 = Both are gap closer with similar range… Damage wise, obviously GS#3 if against a wall. SW#2 is a jump tho, good for terrain exploring.
GS#5 vs SW#3 = Damage and CD wise go to SW#3, but GS#5 is a great mobility utility as well.
GS#4 vs SW#2 & SW#1 = SW can perma cripple, but GS#4 has range and piercing.

Differences:
GS Burst vs SW Burst = AOE dmg vs AOE condi cc
GS with trait vs AX#4 = Easy stacks with Might vs Easy Fury uptime.

I think the favor is still going to GS….
But SW#2 and AX#5 might be the reasons why SW/AX might be a better choice in certain situations.

I just read from a post posted here about 9 hours ago…
It appears that the Risen Priest is the one that is bugged.
Depositing it into the collection doesn’t count into the Achievement’s Progression.
Can anyone confirm this?
As mine is already deposited, and I can’t do it twice anymore.

I am positively sure that i have all the 54 minis in Set 1. I have even double checked with the wiki.

However, the achievement page still show a 53/54 progress for me.

I didn’t get the achievement. It shows its at 50% only, not 100%. I have tried many times, it just stay at 50%.

It is a one tier achievement, so its supposed to be either at 0% or 100%.

Do two of these stack with each other? (meaning does it give 10% dmg increase?)

Do superior sigil of fire and air a good combination on a 2 handed weapon, after their recent buffs?

Or should i mix match those three for a combination? (Force n Fire? Force n Air? Fire n Air?)

There should not be any excuse of y rush is not fixed yet. Bull’s charge is the same skill. With the added knockdown. And it never miss. Y can’t they do the same with rush. Or better still, make it the same like bull’s charge. :p

Longbow, a decent weapon for WvW?

I always use LB in WvW, mostly in zerg fights. The good points are already pretty much outlined above. But just to add, LB’s AOE skills are great in raking loots as well. Pop out ur burst, skill #3, skill #4 and with sigil of fire, u have alot of good dps, low cd AOE skills. AA even though has 1000 range, but due to its arcing projectile nature, it can go much further than that. Lastly, Pin Down is one of the best cc skill in game, for its duration.

I think any class that do buff stacking and condi removal well is good. Since warrior is already tough and have high dps. Ur job is to take care of him, while he do his job.

Ok, altough I hold the firm view that if you bother trying, you should be trying as hard as you can, I still give you some credit for the effort you put into it. The traits can work both in wvw, pve (anything will work there) and are not the worst in dungeons (although a lot worse since anets brilliant idea to make the inferior pve build even more inferior). The armor … well for PvE, Dungeons in particular you are focusing on max thoughness, which is really bad. Power should always be the main stat on your armor. You can mix it up with some Soldier pieces or something like that, but by going full Knights/Chav. you lose about 33% of your damage just due to the missing power, not counting in the missing crit chance and crit damage.
TL;DR If you want defense, don’t use Knights, use Zerk/Soldier/Valk mixes.
Also

Traits:

Trait #12 is good for weapons that don’t have awesome burst (GS, Rifle, Axe, etc).

While its true that u should focus on power if u want to increase ur damage. However, the aim of this build is about flexibility and balance. Imho, survivability is also needed, indirectly, for dpsing ( a dead dpser = 0 dps). Furthermore, flexibility gives u confidence in any situation or role u r needed for, tht is what this build is all about. These are the reasons why i try to balance dps n survivability by focusing on toughness from my gears and go full dps traits and weapons.

The reason why i prioritize toughness, than vitality is because:

1). Vitality is not much needed for a warrior due to his already high innate vitality (20-21k of hp without any bonus vit stats). Other classes that are well known for its bunker roles (guardians, elementalists, and engineers) have much lower hp even if they have bonus vitality stats. Also, u still have strength trait #3 to give u a 2k hp boost, if u really need 24k hp. Not forgetting, i have 10 in tactics if 1000 hp matters at all when u have 3000+ armor.
2). Toughness scales well with vitality and the healing signet. Since the average direct damage tht u get will be lessened. So indirectly, toughness = more hp and hp regen %. There is a thread, tht 3000 armor is the optimal number for a heavy armor class with its innate 20-21k hp. Without dolyak signet and defense traits, this knight/cavalier gear set will still gives u 3000 armor and thus, perfect if u want to go for shouts or banners. A berserker/soldier mix, will give u 24k hp, but with only 2600 armor. Overall, a lesser effective dps and health according to gw2buildcraft.com
3). Vitality is needed for conditions though. That is why i carry signet of stamina (complete condi removal and if traited, decent cd) and healing signet (for small stacks of conditions, and if traited, great cc removal with low cd). If conditions is still a problem, replace the weapon’s superior sigil of force/fire with superior sigil of generosity. Although its cost is hefty, its definitely worth the investment. I have it on my offhand when i am dual weilding.
4). Vitality is also needed to withstand burst damage. This usually happens during zerg vs zerg fight. The solution to this is Endure Pain (remember u can always change ur utilities anytime anywhere u want with this build). Replace ur FGJ with Endure Pain, and u will sacrifice ur perma fury and get 1000000 hp for 4 secs. I think this is a great tradeoff in WvW. If u get caught by te zerg, pop up ur dolyak signet (stability and stun breaker), signet of rage (swiftness), endure pain (10000000 hp), rush, whirlwind, or leap if u have gs or sword, and run away unscathed.

Regarding the lack of power from knight/cavalier gears:
1). While power is not the main stats of the knight/cavalier gear combination, i still have a high power. This is from the ogre rune’s power stats and dmg bonus from its 6th slot, as well as 30 in strength traits and other trait bonuses tht boost dmg (empowered, perma fury, destruction of the empowered, berserker’s power, etc) will be more than enough.

Regarding about axe’s burst:
1). Nika has pointed out that while axe’s burst has a high coefficient, it is too much of a sacrifice if u lose the adrenaline and decrease all later subsequent attacks especially its auto attacks. That is why axe’s burst isn’t in his weapon skill rotation. It is still better for a warrior to keep his adrenaline level full and rely on berserker’s power and heightened focus, and use Axe’s AA, instead of burst.

PvX Warrior Build. Flexible and Effective.

Traits:
This is where, i think, my build shows its flexibility The trait points i choose is dps oriented. That is 30 in Strength, 10 in Tactics, and 30 in Discipline. In terms of dps, this trait setup is slightly lower than Nika’s 30 25 0 0 15 trait setup, in terms of the dps (i think Nika said it is about 3% lower in a post thread). However, in terms of its flexibility, this trait offers a lot of adaptability and compatibility to whatever weapon sets, utilities, roles or situations u r in. Please keep in mind that the trait bonuses shown in the build link is not to be strictly followed, by any means. This build is all about flexibility, hence u can always change the trait bonuses to whatever weapons and utilities u r using at that point of time.

These are the traits that i think should be considered, taking into account ur current weapon sets, utilities and situations.

30 in Strength:
Adept Line:
Trait #2 is a valuable trait as it serves u as a crucial get away “jail card” from cc that u usually face in WvW. With low cd from healing signet, the penalty isn’t harsh.
Trait #3 is a decent trait, if u have no other adept strength trait that u prefer.
Trait #5 is a compulsory trait when u r dual wielding.
Master Line:
Trait #7 is good when u use cc weapons, like hammer or mace/shield.
Trait #9 is good for GS user.
Trait #10 is good for axe user.
Grandmaster Line:
Trait #11 is a good damage booster. Affect your crit damage as well!!!

10 in Tactics:
Adept Line:
Trait #2 is for shout-oriented utilties.
Trait #5 is for banner-oriented utilities
Trait #6 is for other utilities, like signets.

30 in Disciplines:
Adept Line:
Trait #3 is very valuable in almost any situation, not just WvW. That 25% extra movement speed is really indispensable, for me at least.
Trait #6 is for signet-oriented user. With FGJ and SIgnet of Rage, u will have perma fury.
Master Line:
Trait #7 is good in PvE.
Trait #8 is good for dmg boost in WvW.
Trait #9 is good for axe user.
Trait #10 is good for GS and sword user.
Grandmaster Line:
Trait #11 is good for weapons that have awesome burst (hammer, longbow, sword, mace, etc).
Trait #12 is good for weapons that don’t have awesome burst (GS, Rifle, Axe, etc). Also, a great boost on ur crit chance!!!

Consumables are flexible, even those that gives lifesteal on crit. Since ur crit chance is already high.

SUMMARY:
Statistically, this build clearly gives u huge dps (in terms of all of the offensive stats: power, crit chance, and crit dmg) and huge survivability. U will be well prepared and confident for whatever situation u r thrown into.
However, the purpose of this post is that i want to give my warrior friends that are PvX like me an option. Whatever weapons and utilities u r using, wherever u r (dungeons, WvW, etc), whatever roles u r (tank, dps, support), this build can accommodate ur needs and still do very well at it. By without changing ur armor sets, not paying for trait resets, using whatever weapons u want, i hope my build offers flexibility and more fun for ur gaming experience.

Hi, i am a veteran warrior and have been playing this awesome class since day 1, with 3500+ hours on it . I always read the official forum and reddit to keep myself informed about the game, mostly current meta builds and living stories. Talking about warrior builds, i have seen a lot of good ones in this forum and i surely have learned a lot from reading these guides.

However, for this post of mine, i would like to post a build for PvX. Meaning a build that u can, not just use for PvE as well as WvW, but also with any different types of weapons. FYI, this build is more tailored to direct damage warrior, rather than condi warrior. However, sword (skill #3 i s awesome) and longbow, imho, are hybrid weapons that also go well with dps build.

This build is great for those of u that are similar to me:

1). You are a PvX player, meaning you play 50% PvE (Dungeons, Open World and Living Stories) and 50% WvW. Hence, you are too lazy to visit the Traits NPC and reset your traits every single time. I just hope that one day Anet can bring in Permanent Traits Reset to the game, we already have a consumable version in the gemstore.

2). You carry all weapons for your warrior in your inventory for different situations. Also, you find that using 1 or 2 types of weapons all the time are simply boring (warriors are fun becoz of their awesome varieties of weapons anyway). Hence, you want a build that are flexible enough that by just changing a little bit of the trait lines, u r good to go with any weapons.

3). Since there are so many kind of situations that you face in PvE and WvW. You need a hybrid build that can fit well with whatever role that you currently are (dps, tank, support, etc).

The Build:
Please keep in mind that the link that i will post is the ‘default template’ build that i mostly use. Again, the purpose of this build is to introduce flexibility and still be effective to whatever situation, role, or even weapons that u r using. Hence, the weapons sets, utilities and trait bonuses are okay to be changed according to your liking.

Explanation:

Weapon Sets:
Since this build is accommodated to most of the warrior’s huge array of weapons. So feel free to use whatever weapons u like. For myself, I usually bring a mellee weapon and a ranged weapon (in this case GS and LB), this is because i want to be ready for whatever situation i will be in. For mellee weapon, i always go for berserker stats with superior sigil of force and for ranged weapon, i also go for berserker stats with superior sigil of fire.

Utilities:
Again, these are my default utilities, so u r free to change whatever utilities u want. The reason why i use mine is because:
- Healing Signet is the best healing skill a warrior has right now, mostly becoz of the great passive hp regen that scale well with the high armor stats that my build has and to negate small stacks of conditions (poison, bleed, torment, burning, etc). If traited, can be a great cc removal as well.
- FGJ: Damage Boost for u and ur party.
- Dolyak Signet: Awesome passive, short cd with trait, and one of the longest stability in game.
- Stamina Signet: Awesome passive (3 dodges at ur disposal) and one of the most powerful condition removal in game.
- Signet of Rage: Damage boost and your swiftness source. If traited, u will have perma fury with FGJ.

Armor:
I choose Knights with Ogre Runes and Cavalier Trinkets for its hybrid effectiveness.
Since warrior has a huge default hp points, i prioritize toughness over vitality. Plus, I want to have huge dps and high survivability at any time. Hence, Knight with Ogre Runes (for its simplicity and effectiveness) and Cavalier stats combinations would give u Power, Precision, Crit Damage, as well as huge Toughness.

With an effective power of 5550 and effective health point of 33679 (according to the default template build calculator linked), this will make u a force to be reckoned with in both dungeons, fractals, as well as WvW.

If empowered is fixed next patch (gives 2% per boon intead of the current 1%), i might still be using 30 0 0 10 30. That build is so much flexible than 30 25 0 0 15 or 30 10 0 0 30, or any other build out there. I am a PvX, so i am too lazy to reset traits whenever i go PvE or WvW. =)

It was fixed to 1%.

I don’t think its lag. Coz it has been like these for days. And it seems that the other dungeons like CoE, CoF, etc are not affected. Anyone has this problem like me btw?

So, i have been trying to look for groups for AC runs since few days ago, using the LFG tool.
However, i have been getting 0 listings. Empty.
And if i create my own listings, i also can’t see my own listing. Ironically, people can see my listing and i am able to get people into my group.
For other dungeons, like CM, TA, SE, etc, they seem not having this problem.
Anyone having the same problem with me?
Btw, i already tried to repair client and delete .dat file. Still, having the same problem.
Is there any cache or cookies that i can delete. Perhaps, this can solve the problem?

[February] Issues with character art, weapons, or armor?

Issue: My character’s back piece is ‘visually’ missing whenever i opened the Hero Menu (shortcut key = H). This is the same case with my other back piece.

No matter what i do (uncheck and rechecking it, unequipping and requipping it, breaking and repairing it, switching to other back piece, even repairing the game client), the bug is still unresolved.

However, my back piece can still be seen when during in-game environment.

So, I just realised that my character’s back piece is ‘visually’ missing whenever i opened the Hero Menu (shortcut key = H). This is the same case with my other back piece.

No matter what i do (uncheck and rechecking it, unequipping and requipping it, breaking and repairing it, switching to other back piece), the bug is still unresolved.
