Honest question, what would fix the “zerg content” issue? I mean, if there truly was one zerg on the map with the current content it would likely not win the event. The open world events can also be done with small 10-20 man teams (heck, I’ve done some with 5). And the thing they did add that was actively anti-zerg is also on your list of negatives (queues). So what should they do differently? I’m being sincere in my question.
(And I do agree that the domes are a poor design with the current camera and I question what they’re doing with the economy but am willing to see what they’re planning.)
Personally, I think it’s the commander tags in PvE. It’s far to easy to just follow those tags. Granted, people may still just “zerg up” in chat or find groups as they go along doing content, but in my opinion that commander tag just creates zergs instantly. If they weren’t there, that may separate some people.
People are always going to try and do the most effienct way of earning stuff in MMO’s. It’s super easy to just leave auto attack on in a zerg and not worry about being hit most of the time. Not to mention it’ll most likely spawn a champion, and people go crazy for those. So, really, I’m not to sure how to get people to break up. Content over the map with a time limit that’s challenging is a good idea, and I also think those commander tags cause problems.
If you try to zerg it, you will fail the event. It doesn’t work.
Are you in an alternate universe? It’s a zerg event. I’ve just done 2 zones, both completely zerged. Yes the mobs can still down you because they hit hard, but it’s pro-zerg blobbing.
Ok yes, it’s still zerging, but on my server we still had to split up to smaller zergs. The times we did it all as one zerg, we failed.
Another update without PERMANENT CHALLENGING content. Just more zerging. Le sigh…………… :/
If you try to zerg it, you will fail the event. It doesn’t work. Our first attempt/second attempts after we failed because people just tried to zerg it. Sadly, I had to go after that, but you cannot just zerg it. It’s inefficient and spread out across the map.
I totally agree. The new monster’s models really shocked me. They look really awesome.
Probably has been said before, but this is kind of crazy now (kind of always has been). Any kind of telegraph in large fights is almost impossible to see. Here’s a screenshot of my server (SBI) doing Melandru (attatched). Can’t see anything at all.
All the effects are awesome, but they really need scaled down. If I’m going to be one hit by Melandru (or other bosses), then I need to be able to see the animation to dodge.
I’m just suggesting it be scaled down somewhat. Or tell me I’m just crazy
It’s just the performance of my Phenom 2 X4 965 is kind of lackluster. When I’m by myself in PvE it gets around 55-60 (which is totally ok; sometimes it does random spikes when turning the camera as well). Usually I’m around 85% load with it as well. I don’t normally run all on ultra anyway.
I’m just trying to increase performance overall and especially in larger groups where I’m consitently below 30. I know that in huge fights it’s going to get bad regardless really, but hopefully better than playing a slideshow.
I’m thinking of upgrading my Mobo and CPU. I’m going to go with AMD, because Intel is just too expensive (in my last year of college, and don’t wanna spend way too much). Does anybody have the AMD FX 8350 Vishera and play GW2?

I currently have and AMD Phenom 2 X4 965 @ 3.4Ghz. I also have a GTX 660 2GB video card, and 8 GB of DDR3 (1333) RAM. I’m just curious to see if anyone has this processor and what the performance is like with the game.
The board I’m looking at getting is: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813128627
Like I said, I really can’t go Intel due to the cost.
I agree…this needs to be fixed. It is blocking me getting very close to world completion.
I searched for this and didn’t find anything, so please let me know if it has been said before. I quite like the mini’s that ANet puts into the game, but it annoys me that for every zone I jump into, I have to re-deploy my mini. I suggest an option that will bring it out again if it’s already out for wherever you go.
I know this is a VERY small thing and a very cosmetic thing, but it’s just a suggestion.
reading this thread, all i can think about is the lionguard arguing with the little asuran child in lion’s arch
SBI: our zerging is better
BP: no, our zerging is better
SBI: well, we flipped that target
BP: We, flipped That target
really, give it a break..
This. This whole thread just makes me facepalm.
I’ve wanted this as well. I’ve always been the one to collect mounts and work towards them. It would be cool to collect mounts. Not to mention getting people to explore around more, instead of just teleporting all over the place. If I had the choice to get out a mount that makes me move faster to stay in the world, or teleport to a waypoint with coin, a mount would always win.
I wouldn’t just use the level 80 character the hacker left you. GW2 is all about the story and events that happen during the leveling process, and if you just take advantage of that, then you’ll miss out on a lot. Granted, it’s up to you if you want to keep the high level human, but I would really advise you to make a new character and play through the game.
There’s a lot of content cool things to do, and doing that with a “free” level 80 character really won’t be that rewarding imho.
This escort mission is just so buggy and the risen nobles are horrendously overpowered. Thanks for working this out. Hopefully I can try this and not be one shotted…
