Just echoing what most other people in this thread have said, if you are such a completionist, grab a copy of Guild Wars trilogy and expansion and fill out the HoM for the rewards like all of us who previously played Guild Wars did. If you were truly a completionist, you’d play it just to get the backstory.
Just wanting to add my feedback to this thread….
Overall I was pretty disappointed with the event. It felt rushed in execution and development. The bugs that prevented completing each phase one time was a little frustrating but forgivable.
The vagueness from the developers which lead to me skipping the finale leaves a sour taste in my mouth. I was expecting a one time event during the finale yes, but then finding out this one time event lasted for several hours and then rewarding players with lots of sellable loot was saddening, yes mostly sad at myself for feeling left out.
I live in Australia so the events start timing was early Monday morning for me. This made it impossible for me to attend the event unless I took time off from work which was a bit of a stretch since I had taken a week off at launch.
I love the game and I love what you are trying to do. But I fear by alienating the minority in favour of the majority for these one off events, I will have no choice but to move on. Please cease one off events in GW2.
It is unfair to ignore dedicated players that may not be able to log in at certain times to experience one off events and we miss out. We don’t want to watch videos of the event on youtube. We don’t want to read every second persons joy of receiving an exotic precursor from a one off event. We want to participate.
Rock dogs!
Raptors and Griffons are mentioned earlier would be great.
Phoenix would be great as well. We need some larger sized avians.
Would love to charm an Asura as well…
Thank you so much for posting this
Guess I’ll be rising and shining at 4am on Monday morning!

Thank you ANet! This has been a brilliant debut event for GW2 and aside from a few buggy beginnings and vagueness at the start I am having an absolute ball!
The haunted doors are sick as, the clock tower is frustratingly awesome, the pvp games are super fun!
Would have liked to have seen weapon recipes a bit more attainable for the event. Somewhere in between exotic and legendary would be nice. Hoping to build up mats to get my Crossing staff for next year.
Would really love to see a way to store all the costumes as well… Even maybe a gem store purchases tab where you could spawn your bought costumes and hats. Would love to see a way to implement the costume tabs of GW1 where you could wear costumes and fight at the same time.
Overall, you’ve blown me away once again ANet, this is a sign of massive things to come from ANet and GW2! <3
It’s something to work towards people. Why is it that you can’t be patient or put the time/effort into obtaining it? Fissure armour in GW1 was ridiculously expensive but it gives long term goals. Albiet, Fissure armour looks a hell of a lot better then some of the cultural armours but eh, you win some you loose some.
I’ll agree with cheagle here. I rolled my elementalist when the game was brand new, he is now 80 and there’s no way I have the time or motivation to reroll such a beauty I have invested time and effort into.
Now we have wonderful community members that have pieced together fantastic resources to show us the skins, I completely resent the choice I made to best fit my character’s story.
Hoping that ANet will give us a legit way of acquiring other orders armour, because this Priory duckling has a Vigil swan just budding to escape!
Just came across an ArenaNet Dev post about the Blank Trading Post screens…
Hi,
Thanks to skagrin, I have a new solution for people who are unable to load the trading post. I’ve tested this on a Windows XP VM here to make sure it works, but haven’t done much.
The theory is that the root certs on your computers are not up to date. Follow these steps to update them:
1. Close the game client
2. Download and run http://download.windowsupdate.com/msdownload/update/v3/static/trustedr/en/rootsupd.exe
3. You’ll probably have to click ‘run’ or ‘allow’ a couple times, but after that, nothing will appear. But that’s OK, your root certs have now been updated.
4. Open the game client and try to access the trading post
If you haven’t been able to load the trading post at all, try these steps. If this works for you, I’ll ask our customer service team to write up more formal documentation on this procedure.
Thank you so much for this Felgor! I am happily able to use the TP/Gem Store again after doing this… Those blank screens were on the verge of driving me insane.
Tried to purchase some xp boosters from the gem store. Gems deducted, no boosters.

The lag is quite bad on Isle of Janthir for me right now and has been since I logged on about an hour ago. I don’t think it’s my system though it could be my connection….
I wish we had the little coloured circle in the lower right corner of the UI from GuildWars…
