Okay. Here is my interpretation of the blog post which should address some issues you have here…

During a season, players begin in the starter division and earn their way up to the next by defeating other players within their division …

You have to defeat players within your division.(Although I think you can get matchups against weaker or stronger opponents aswell.) There is a huge difference to the old system in which matchmaking was based on your rating and not your position on the ladder. Therefore I think it will be much harder to farm.

Winning a match guarantees you a pip, and in some cases you won’t need to win—you’ll simply need to beat a required score threshold if you’re matched against a team outside your skill bracket.

This is very important and I also think it will translate to playing against a premade team. As you might remember ANet calculates a win percentage for your team. Based on this win percentage you will be awarded pips. (just like points in previous seasons) This system however HAS to be adjusted. It was way too easy not to lose points by losing a game. I propose the points you have to score should be adjusted. This should lift a little bit of the fear of SoloQ. I do think Solo- and TeamQ should stay together since there are not enough players as it is and if you split the queue this will only get worse. But you could give SoloQers a little title to show people you reached your Leauge by SoloQing.

While earning badges is seasonal, anyone who makes it into the Legendary Division will earn a permanent title to show off this major accomplishment for all time.

I have to say I am a fan of the idea of a title BUT please let 2 (test) seasons pass and maybe adjust a few things before you hand them out. You have not tested this system before and in the end a lot of people might have a title they don’t deserve just because the system needs a few tweaks.

But that’s just my opinion…

Hey!
Here are my questions:

1.) Are there going to be any consequences to dying? Do you lose your supply? Do you get a rather long respawn timer? Do you think about something like death penalty?(not exactly the same bit similar)

2.) What are the rewards for playing stronghold? Does the whole guild get points they can invest in something(like a guild hall or something) or do you just continue to use the reward tracks?

EDIT: 3.) Will there be an observer mode like in Guild Wars 1?

Some thoughts:
I personally think a soloQ could bring more harm than good. It might discourage some players because of the lack of options to communicate in the game. Especially since this game mode seems to be all about tactics and communication. Plus, if you think how you’re going to have different “roles” what if 5 people queue to play the same role. If multiple classes can fill that role how is anet supposed to detect that? What do you guys think?

I think this game mode sounds very promising but I’ve been burned before by anet. :P

map completion sucks, both wvw and pve^^. I’m just doing this to get my legendary. Luckily i’m on desolation so it won’t take long until I get my last 2 PoIs and my last vista.(although I have no idea why we were green for the last 2 weeks. seems kinda random to me) I only play sPvP btw…

Warriors in PvP, this is just silly.

I myself play as a condi necro and warriors are just impossible to win from.

They have like 3-4 stuns, perma stability ( this means i cant fear em and never counter the insane burst they do), they have i condi removal (Berserker’s stance is just silly). Even when i do condi dmg the rgeneration from that sigil is rly high, combined with that very high healthpoool, i just cant get them down, ever.

Even with other classes i struggle immensely and when we fight 2-3 of them in a tournament its unbeatable. When there are 3 of them together at mid, noone can kill them.

Pls Anet nerf this class

I’m getting sick of these post! Warriors may be strong at the moment, but guys like you complain after every balance update. Just because you can’t roll your face on your keyboard and kill everything, like in the past few months, doesn’t mean you have to create this QQ-topic! There is and will always be a fotm build/class! I agree, there are a few classes that are unbalanced, but this is no reason to create a new topic every day! There won’t be any changes until the next patch!

Just try to figure out how to deal with those classes! Try to choose your build accordingly. Ask other players how they handle warriors. Ask your warrior friends(if you have any) how necros kill them or play warrior and find out yourself!

You are playing necro and imo warriors seem balanced when I think about what a necro can do to me!

By the way, you’re not the only one who thinks warriors are too strong! Read this:

I think the that’s not enough. I don’t know why I should play the 3-round tournament when I get the same rewards I have got since release. I personally don’t need another stack free tournament tokens. Also the rank points should be way higher than in the 1 round. I think the 3-round winner should get 3 or 4 times more rewards than the winner of a 1-round tournament plus a better chest. Otherwise it won’t noone will wait for a 3-round queue to pop if the 1 round one pops instantly and you get better rewards.

Want an example? In Guild Wars, there was some meta builds in PvP (IWAY, Sway, rspike) which were always countered by a good balanced team and they of course had their weaknesses, but they were nerfed anyway because they required almost no skill to be effective. That’s the whole point of balance, if you don’t get it, just don’t talk about it.

I agree, but those builds will always exist and it will take some time for ANet to find a way to nerf them but not to completely take them out of the game. Those builds were around for like 2 or more months before anything was done. So there will always be a build that is way easier to play and will be abused by most players so you will have to find a way to counter it. Constantly whining about it won’t help btw. (<- this is not directed at you! just to make sure you don’t take it the wrong way )
