How do you deal with the aggro system?

A warrior with a full set of berserker’s is still more likely to get attention than most other classes, we share the highest healthpool with Necromancers and highest armor with guardian, both of which lack the other.

Also, close proximity and damage are factors in aggro; both of which fit a berserker warrior.

If you choose to go with #1, I’d take 5 points from Arms and put them into discipline. I’ll do this entirely because I’d loathe being stuck with a rifle for 10 seconds. Fast hands is probably one of the most flexible traits warriors can get, not to mention how perfectly it fits thematically

and yes; I would trade 50 power, and 3% damage whenever endurance is not full for it (and 5% critdmg.)

Blindness and point blank AoE.

Generally; whenever I have an issue with something in a game, I ask myself if it’s related to balance or a realistic vs. gameplay-issue.

If it’s ever the latter I quickly ignore my own contempt, simply because I don’t think games should be tailored around realism and rather around balance/gameplay

(I think AoE is a little too dominant in this game and making it partially ignore blind would stress this unnecessarily.)

Advice for Axe

Axe: Kryta’s salvation [&AgE8eQAA] – I’m a sucker for non-flashy skins and this GW1 throwback is absolutely my favourite axe skin.

Longbow: Eir’s Longbow [&AgFwbgAA] – It’s HUGE I play a female Norn and this thing makes max-sized humans look puny.

Mace: Moonshine [&AgGIZQAA] – Need I say anything ? (also, it’s cheap)

(Copy-paste the weird links into GW2 and you can inspect the items in-game.)

I’d grab a mace Offhand for vulnerability and ranged knockdown and I always have shield/warhorn in bags for whenever the need arises. The sword OH is actually a cool idea and might make missing out on whirlwind attack for an extra dodge bearable, I don’t think you drop bleeds with the attack speed of the axe, though.

I think what Wethospu is trying to say is that gearchoice is not as important as you try to make it. No amount of advice on these forums and “optimal” builds can substitute just playing the game a lot and getting a feel for various encounters.

While their speedclears are impressive, they’re so well optimized that I hardly feel I get anything out of it.

If you’re all new to the considerably more punishing full berserker

I’d start out with Knight’s Head, chest, legs and rings and Berserker’s gloves, boots, shoulders, accessories, back, amulet and weapons everything with ruby orbs/jewels, unless you prefer a runeset (orbs are cheaper and provide more damage though, runes have utility)

The reason why I’d do this is simple.
Look at Exquisite Ruby and emerald Jewel. the former has a total of 40 statpoints and 3% critdmg the latter has 55 statpoints, which means you trade 5 statpoints per critdmg.

If you do the same comparison for berserker’s and knight’s chest. you’ll see that you trade 14.4 statpoints for each critdmg (you get 5 critdmg on berserker chest whereas you’d get 72 of another stat on knight’s)

Effectively, doing this you get more stats overall, you’re not as squishy and it doesn’t do whole lot to your aggro management, if you start to feel comfortable with this gear, switch to more berserker’s.

As a direct answer: Ascended is the best source of critdmg disregarding jewels iirc, so grab that and get defensive stats on another item if you need those. (and get amulet with laurels, since you can only get it with laurels.)

Why not give tokens in story mode ?

in Fractals, Dungeons & Raids

We had them in story before launch, but what we found is that we couldn’t strike a balance between the amount we give for completing story mode, and the difficult difference. Our feedback was that rather than face the challenge of Explorable dungeons, high skill groups would just afk faceroll the much easier story mode content for the guaranteed smaller token amount. We tried several things, but couldn’t strike the balance, so we removed tokens from story mode as a reward and put them into explorable mode only as a reward.

That was back then, as you stated in another thread, new content always seem harder because there’s a multitude of new inputs. I think this guy puts out a very solid argument that is much more relevant now that most view the majority of exploration paths are manageable and the smaller guaranteed gain has become a smaller gain.

As long as you keep the token/hour lower in story modes I don’t see how skilled people would spent their time “afk faceroll-ing” through storymode and then face severe DR when they could easily do all 3 paths and have more gain.

Put a mace or warhorn in offhand, Axe offhand has nothing worth getting.
Also, you might want to look elsewhere if you want to try out condition builds for real (It can be fun as a warrior, but is in essence a gimmick build.)

no changes, just as expected. the omnom nerf isn’t a big deal, i run zerkers with out them and still will.

Same; dodging and knowledge of fight mechanics is what keeps berserker gear viable.

Reposting this from the old buglist, since I reported it after it became discontinued.

I had some trouble with the dodge animation seemingly cancelled out mid-roll and getting me hit. I’ve seem to have found the culprit which is also described in the bug reported to delay hundred blades.
It would seem the greatsword skill #1 chain #2 has a very unlucky interaction with basically any other skill. I’ve been able to repeatedly delay most other warrior skills when activating them right at the end of the greatsword slice cast.
tldr: The greatsword skill #1 chain #2 cancels dodge-rolls and delays the activation of all/most abilities not only Hundred Blades, if used at the end of the cast.

I can confirm the same issue with Axe skill #1 chain #1 and sword skill #1 chain #2 cancelling dodge and delaying activation if used at the end of the cast. I encourage others to try out other weapons and on different classes even. I recall hearing my Thief buddy complaining about cancelled dodge-rolls as well.

Note1: It might not be the ending of the cast causing the issue, but rather the activation of the next ability in the queue messing it up and causing the delay/cancellation.
note2: I’ve only been able to reproduce the dodge-roll cancellation with auto-attack toggled on, whereas the skill-delay is consistent at the end of the cast regardless of auto-cast, i.e if you want to avoid having your dodges bug out, slap auto-cast on FGJ and keep it off skill #1.

new edit: Thank you a bunch for picking up the baton with this one. It was sorely needed!

Are you sure? I swear it fills up super fast…
EDIT: Actually I tested it. Using Warhorn 5 significantly speeds up the dodge juice regeneration with Signet of Stamina equipped.

Yeah sure, Vigor increases endurance regeneration by 100%. Signet of stamina by 33%. So when you use Warhorn #5, you’ll see a significant increase; They don’t, however, stack so whenever you have Vigor, your signet is useless.

It’s great that you like your warrior and it seems you put some care into him!

Do, however, try out Oglaf’s advice on switching Signet of Dolyak with Signet of Stamina.
It nets you a dodge every 7.5 secs, down from every 10th – and is in my opinion – infinitely more solid than going even full cleric gear for survival.

Looking for guild (Desolation EU - not transferring anytime soon)

Hey,
I was in a similar situation a few hours ago, so I went to this forum and found this post:

https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds/Desolation-Gathering-up-some-cool-people

I just joined them and they (myself included, heh, seems like the exact thing I wanted)
It’s a quite small guild, but that post convinced me that (atleast he and I) had the same idea about what a guild is all about and if the people are of the right quality, quantity is irrelevant.

GLHF,
Titaniea
