Guild Wars 2

If i plan on playing PVE mainly, should i even bother with necro? I enjoy the class, but, it seems that they just are not very useful to have in dungeons, fractals, or raids (that is if i bother with raids).

I took a break for a bit from gw2 and the last thing i was working on was a Bolt for my rev. So, i was just wondering, is rev in a good state overall in all gamemodes still? If not, i dont wanna make my first legendary for it.

Yea, i know anet is eventually gonna kill the profession (im guessing next ‘balance’ patch). I suppose its a good thing that its having a slow death, unlike the other professions that just get smashed out of the meta. Kinda like the reaper was, and warrior after hot.

So buying it off the trading post is perhaps the best way?
I have 975 gold atm, about as much the zap is.

Also, can i equip the precursor and still use it to craft the legendary?

What is the quickest way to get a precursor? (In my case, zap)

Dont know exactly, most likely because there are some ppl that complain rev is op lol. Honestly it really isnt that bad of a nerf.

In other words my guess is anet is just answering the ppl that are complaining.

U got to wait till u get herald, herald is what makes rev shine. Without herald, rev is pretty lame.

Rev is at a point that if its damage is nerfed, it wont be able to survive in 1v1 combat against anything condi. Give rev more condi removal, and im fine with a bit of a dmg nerf. There is also the choice of nerfing condis back down so they are no longer cancer, but the chance of that happening is like 0.

Also what u ppl dont understand is that all these nerfs are crippling it in pve.

Rev isnt op, nor was it op before last nerf. Just go condi and watch them melt.

Well, you are probably going to get mixed answers here lol. Some people might find guard fun, others rev. Personally i enjoy rev more, and cant really say why, i just do. As for meta, obviously rev is the better off of the 2. Whether u let the meta effect what u play is up to u. In pvp the meta will always really affect u, as last season there was necros all over the place. I would get into matches with all 5 players as necro….That is just a example of meta affecting my pvp play.

I just want some suggestions here.
The only professions i have left to level to 80 are mesmer and ranger.
I cant decide on which one i want to use the 80 booster on….
I played around with both pve and pvp already and still cant decide…..

I play pvp and pve. I mostly do things solo in pve.
Which of these 2 would be best for this.

Well, unless ur bored of leveling, i think u should level your first character to 80 without the booster. Then level ur second character with the booster. Personally i enjoyed leveling my first character all the way to 80.

With the poor condi removal rev has, nerfing it will probably kill the class. Ik if they nerf it, im not playing it anymore lol. The class depends on the support of its teammates to keep it alive so it doesnt drown in condis. Forget 1v1ing a condi mes, reaper you have a bit of a chance of killing one. With only a staff skill to remove condis with a long cd, u have to be good at dodging or ur dead within second.

1. Battle axe
2 one handed hammer
3. Some kind of knuckle weapon.
4.polearm/make spear usable on land (with different skills obviously).

I dont believe that reapers are op, i think its just condis being overtuned atm that makes reapers look op. Any profession that rolls a condi build tends to do a lot of damage, warriors, revs, mesmers, thieves. They all do a lot of damage with condis tho they dont apply them as well as reapers can. In the current state of the game anything without condi cleaners just gets destroyed….

The main reason i asked this is because im unsure if i should main rev and uncertain about the future of rev…..
Many ppl are complaining its op, so, im pretty sure anet is gonna do some nerfing april patch.

…..from my experience it really isnt that easy, as im downed by condis within seconds from lack of condi removal, and rev heals are total garbo. Unrelentimg assault tends to miss almost every single hit from like 2 dodges lol. So, whats ur opinion? Challenging or easy?

Only buggy skill i find is unrelenting assault, sometimes it just doesnt work….. Only real buggy thing i run into is in pvp. When u use unrelenting assault stuck in a guards 5 lb cage the camera glitches, doesnt focus on my char, my char teleports but just sits there after, the attack does nothing, and i cant move or do anything but get hit by the enemy until i regain control. Course thats pvp tho.

Just another 2 months for Anet to attempt to “balance” the game again. For how long we have to wait this better be hell of a good patch.

Hmmmm, what gamemode to play today? pve? wvw? Oh! how about pvp! Joins game* Joins team* All is going well until half the enemy team goes to spectate. A auto balance happens, OH! GREAT IM ON THE LOSING TEAM NOW, FUN! And OH look the players that joined spectate stole the auto balanced players spots!

OK seriously this NEEDS to be fixed it happens every game. Weither its a player that refuses to join a team and waits for a auto balance to happen, or one that deliberately went to spectate for a auto balance to occur and steal a players spot on the winning team. Its really annoying aslkdjklasdjklasjdlkajsd!

Something needs to be implemented to that players that join spectate, can only join back to there team they were on. Now on the other hand for people who sit in spectate for long periods of time to steal a spot on the winning team, idk.

I’m not a WvW player (more sPvP oriented), but in general, I’ve found that deciding between the two generally depends on your access to fury outside of traits. If you run Thrill of the Crime (or use the CS tree for some reason), go with Scholar. Otherwise, go with Pack. Also, if you’re using Bound over Dash for some reason, you may also want to consider Pack since you’ll be lacking swiftness.

Personally, I prefer Scholar with TotC and Dash.

Went with pack, seeing i prefer pvp over pve, and i wanna do some roaming. Plus i dont use Thrill of the crime.

Im planning on using my thief for pve and wvw. For wvw build calls for pack, pve scholar, im too cheap to buy 2 sets of armor for the 2 gamemodes. So which of the 2 would be best for both?

try opening the playlists in notepad (not even joking), and making sure all the paths to the mp3 files are full paths.

eg: C:\Users\User\Music\Music.mp3

the game can be funny about file paths, but seems to work great when they are full paths.

Yea i tried that, the paths were correct. I fixed it by playing through the playlists…….weird…..just with windows media player……

Weird, I have been using the 64 bits client with a custom Character Select music and it’s working normally so far. Sorry, no idea what could be wrong. Maybe try to repair the game?

Im having trouble with custom music after swtiching to 64 bit client. I put the 64 bit in my solid state instead of my hard drive where the 32 bit was, not sure if that matters. Not really sure if this is the right place to put this……..

It worked perfectly fine before changing, now i have no music in game when using custom music. I tried deleting the Guild Wars 2 folder in documents (Music folder of course in it) and recreating it, didnt work. I changed my playlists from m3u to wpl, didnt work. All of the music is mp3……I have no clue what the problem is………

While playing my battle playlist did kick in, everything else tho doesnt seem to work.

Edit – After playing through the playlists and starting the game, they play…..odd

So, warrior is still pretty bad pvp wise, but what about pve? Is it worth leveling one, wasting my tomes on one? Or should i not bother and level a different class. I already have a lvl 80 guard, thief, ele, rev, and necro.

If not, how long does the masteries/collections for the precursor generally take, and how much does it cost to craft them?

Reapers, Druids, Scrappers, and sometimes mesmers, are the worst for me.

I have some good games, but that generally is just because of the support of my team. I’m able to 1v1 some classes such as DH, other warriors, and thieves, but other than that its pretty much me getting destroyed.
1v2 forget it…..

Any good build suggestions? Something??

Every class that uses it has a pretty standard build for it except a lot of reapers don’t use it.

GS is anets favorite weapon, so if you can equip one, chances are it’s an excellent choice. Mesmer, warrior, ranger, guardian.

Even though the balance patch is coming quite soon, u believe warrior can still be used in pvp effectively? I mean, i see a lot of them around still but, a lot of people say they are in a pretty bad spot in pvp atm. The warriors ive fought with ele and rev didnt seem to stand a chance… and im not at all good at pvp lol (then again they may have not been the best players either.).
