I agree that it’s not a perfect solution, but imo it’s better than the current implementation.

I’m sure many people made this suggestion before, but since I saw a dev stating that they appreciate constructive feedback and suggestions I’ll give it a go anyway.

Currently anet is receiving lots of hate from a big part of the wvw community regarding those “strange” matchups.
Very often we get one server which is a bit on par with us, and then we get another one which is like 4 tiers above or below us. This not fun for the server which is completely crushing the other, or for the one in the “receiving” end. A server which is constantly running 70+ groups facing a server running 20-30 people in groups… well i don’t need to explain further.

First thing: please state why the dice roll decides this? I really don’t see the reasoning behind this.

Now, the solution to this can be so easy in my opinion:

Start of with a blank ranking, even RNG/alphabetical order/whatever it if really needed as an initial starting position. Week after week, have the winner go up a tier, and the loser a tier down.
I don’t really think that there’s a more “fair” system than this, and it’s the easiest as well.

The only downside of this is that some servers will never face each other, which means that the GvG community is forced to play the same guilds over and over until there will be a “real” GvG system.

Backline harrassment works pretty good as mesmer as well, while using veil/null field/TW on the melee ball

Done this for the last 2 gvgs and it works pretty good.

Well, this time AM-blobs really arent that bad as previous matchups. They are still there, but you also see smaller groups running now which is “refreshing”..

General request to all three servers: if you see a 1vs1 going on, please don’t interfere with it
(sorry for that [QQ] elementalist last night, was a nice 1v1 until we got interrupted.. but ok it would have been a neverending fight i guess)

Was looking for some decent 1v1 or 1v2 fights yesterday at AM bl. Was pretty difficult since AM seems to be running off even when running with more then one when engaging.

However, I faced (I believe the same) elementalist from RS and I got owned badly. Was great to fight you, even though I didn’t stand a chance. Hope to meet you again somewhere this week! I’m the purple coloured mesmer

Blobbing is one thing, sure everyone does it.

But AM, grow a pair really this evening sometime you outnumbered us at least 2:1 in RS bl, and you kept on running away to your towers. All we wanted was some late night open air action

Lots of fun btw the last hours in RS bl. north camp fights were very amusing.

Not sure if you are responding to the dius/tup discussion, but if so, I don’t think anyone from both sides was calling for help when wiping. We just got help without asking for it, which is something which is unavoidable

I generally don’t get involved in such discussions, but I want to comment on some things:

- Regarding all the pugs following us: you should have heard our TS. We were really surprised about the tracking skills of Gandaran pugs (I think they have a skill called “track Dius” or something). We waypoint a lot, and seconds later they somehow managed to see where we waypointed to!

- Regarding those fights at Briar with our massive siege. We stayed on our rock a few times when we saw the pugs fighting TUP and we waited until the fight was over to come in.

In the end I admit, we were blobbing and running with 40+ at prime time around 9PM GMT+1. 22 Dius and a few friends, and 20 randoms. We tried avoiding it but it was just impossible sadly.

Let’s hope some more Gandaran commanders are online tonight so we can get some more Woodhaven ghetto fights which are more balanced

PS: I once attacked you guys when I was alone!! :-) I love to do a suicide rambo run every once in a while. Sadly one of your guys did a nicely timed pull and it made me fell off a cliff :-)

We just had an awesome commander on PS bl as well.

AR taking our hills, and we were hiding with 4 undetected. Spamming mapchat that we can portal everyone in, and no one even bothers to reply :P

That was indeed a fun fight there, even though we were only 10 guys we managed to stay alive for quite a bit

Anyway, I’d love to go back to lag-free wvw soon. This was totally unplayable and killed all the fun.

Cheers for the determination of that one guy of RS, trebbing from hills on the same wall for 6 hours straight :P
