Top teams/players go out of their way to not queue vs each other so why does it matter if they are at the top of the leaderboards?

OP isn’t exactly providing hard arguments either. These runes aren’t in SPvP so obviously they’re broken and should be removed. I guess that should be said for literally every rune that is not found in SPvP. Condition runes not being useful in PvE is an entirely different problem that is caused by conditions themselves and the PvE meta of everyone going berserker. Does that mean berserker is OP because it is used in all game modes to great effect? With runes specifically though, Scholar runes and Strength runes are used in SPvP, WvW and PvE, so they must be much more OP than Perplexity runes because those are useless in PvE and only good in WvW.

Berserker and strength runes both got nerfed because they were OP, do you even play this game?

all 3 servers will have players/zergs running in that timezone. the real decision you have to make is if you want to have it easy or an actual challenge when you play.

Why is the blame is on BG? As a former member of JQ i can honestly say a lot of people have left your server because of how toxic and rude the players there are. Now this might have changed, i haven’t been on JQ since the day after Season 2 ended, but trying fixing your own server before blaming others.

I don’t mind thieves having stealth and teleports. It’s that they should NOT having all that burst. Thief burst needs to be knocked down by a lot.

What class are you playing? I’ll gladly help you since you cant seem to figure it out yourself. If you are getting hit for those numbers you are glass or you’ve ran into a signet thief who has absolutely nothing going for him except one burst and then he is dead.

The diference of GW2’s stealth vs any other decent games is others games mechanics has detections and counter stealth.

GW2 just has a perma spameable invisibility.

As well as dodge/cc mechanics that counters stealth. As well as non targeted attacks that can hit stealthed targets – other games with conventional stealth do not have that (besides very few untargeted aoe abilities). As well as insane power creep and low passive defences of stealth classes compared to most other games, what enables ppl simply kill stealthed targets in a matter of seconds.

No. Just, no. Wildly swinging melee weapons is not a counter. Get real. And many classes have very limited access to aoe and non-targeted attacks.

A well played thief (and lets be honest, it is not hard to play a thief), with full stacks of everything (borderlands bloodlust, sigil bloodlust X25, Applied Strength, Applied Fortitude), consumables, and ascended gear really can’t be defeated in wvw. Multiple well played thieves easily wipe twice their numbers and they can do it really, really quickly.

The results will look something like this:

2)5.5k c&d
3)8k backstab
[…] a couple auto attacks for 500 each
4)10k Heartseeker
DEAD x_x

The combination of shadow stepping, stealth, high evasion, extremely high spike damage, and no cooldowns due to the initiative system results in a very, very broken class.

the rewards aren’t good anyways. skins that are halfway decent at best and extra rank up chests? just have fun and kill people.

Runes/orbs can be purchased off the tp. You can buy ascended trinkets with your laurels if you have enough. Lastly, you can get the other two soldier pieces of armor from temples in Orr with karma.

There is truth in that a lot of players lose a few times to a thief and cry about it. However, there is also truth in the frustration players feel about getting popped from stealth then see the attacker dodge a couple times or blink away into safety.

There is no hard counter to well played D/P and most thieves know it. Putting a blind/blink, blind field, daze, stealth and a big damager on the same weapon set particularly on a weapon set that can burst skills is too much. The problem becomes compounded when 2+ thieves are in the mix since they can share each others Blinding Powder.

What people need to understand is, most thieves don’t want to play that way but are kind of forced to. We have very few other options. If they nerf d/p and give us no sort of survivability in exchange, the next topic will be OMG THIEF D/D OP. D/D Hits harder, faster and a beserker ranger not paying attention will die even faster.

To the OP, most thieves don’t even run full zerker anymore in wvw. WvW allows you to grab some vit/toughness on your gear without sacrificing much damage. You should probably give that a shot. Based on your video (longbow full zerker ranger is pretty much a free kill for any roamer who isnt a fresh 80) you are going to have a bad time. Try looking up some WvW ranger roaming videos. See the builds they run and try to adapt.

Did you bother reading anything? I’m not defending the spec. I don’t even run it. I am trying to help you have a better chance of winning vs it. The MAJORITY of roamers are no longer full zerker. If you really enjoy playing full zerker longbow ranger then go for it. You are going to die more often than if you played a better build or atleast a better gear setup.

Thanks for proving my point though. People think any thief is automatically permastealth. Which is why these topics always end poorly. You can’t fix something when you don’t actually know what it is.

I am not defending the use of permastealth. I personally think you should only be allowed to hs once through the field. People need to realize that thieves get nerfed every patch. Why do people abuse stealth? Because it’s a big chunk of all that we have left. It plays a huge factor in our survivability. It’s our way of clearing condis. If they gave us other useful options, then you might not see so much stealth.

That’s just inaccurate. Permastealth thieves most definitely can kill enemies and get away from groups. If you don’t know, perhaps you should watch a few videos that others have posted.

If the thief is permastealthing, he is not leaving stealth. What happens when you attack someone from stealth? You get revealed.

Please share these videos of a thief never leaving stealth and killing people.

ALSO, the op posted a video of him fighting a bunker engi in pvp. That is not an accurate duel with your complaints of being in wvw. High chance if you run into a roaming engineer in wvw, they will be dire perplexity or at least rabid perplexity. With that being said, you would of killed yourself from keyboard smashing with the stacks of confusion he applied.

I think what people should be more concerned about is there are builds out there for a few classes that kill people just as fast as bs thieves, except they are bunkers with condis.

Permastealth is possible by using utilities. ANET has already said they are fine with thieves being able to stealth for long periods of time, as long as they use utilities to do this. You can no longer just 5>2>2>2>2 over and over. To permastealth now you have to give up utilities (most run stunbreaks these days, so they are now easier to kill because of cc’s)

If a thief is actually perma stealthing, he is doing no damage to anyone. If you are getting hit, he is not permastealthing.

You are playing a Zerker Ranger. If you cant apply enough pressure between his reveal time and restealthing, rethink your build/gear. There are ranger builds out there that can very easily deal with a thief hitting for high numbers everyone seems to complain about.

Thieves are at the bottom of the list in WvW. Yes we can scout, kill yaks, flip camps as good as everyone else, but outside that whats so amazing about them? If you are in WvW looking for 1v1s, you should expect to encounter a thief more often than any other profession. Keep playing, you will quickly learn that 95% of thieves are extremely predictable.

You can thank the condi meta for killing roaming.

if you lost a fight 3v1, you should rethink your playstyle and not cry about the guy who collected bags. Zerker rangers have always been thief food.

Stealth is our condition removal and our way of surviving. Learn to fight it or wait a few years for anet to give us builds where we dont need stealth for everything.

Never seen that in tpvp or solo queue. Most groups want a good thief..

powerbuilds haven’t been the meta for a long time now. dire + perplexity has changed that for most classes.

I, like much others i would assume, am wondering how on earth did you win all those fights where it looks like on your minimap you outnumber the other zerg. Must of been amazing coordination on your part to pull off such a feat.

If you are roaming and don’t know how to fight vs stealth, you’re going to have a bad time. Mes/Thief/Engy are the main roaming classes because of their access to stealth to run from zergs.

Except mesmers can deal tons of damage while hiding in stealth. Thieves have to reveal themselves, but a mesmer can have the clones up dealing damage the whole time they are hiding.

The reason people want to leave JQ/SoR to go roam on BG has already been mentioned. I rarely see it from SoR (im sure it happens), but BGs roaming groups turn into what t8 servers would consider a zerg. I’m sure JQ/SoR do the samething on other BLs im not on. I really enjoy roaming, but honestly i havent done it in a week. I haven’t even gone into WvW. I think if people would like to continue roaming and finding fun fair fights, everyone should consider splitting up your groups. I understand if the group is 5-10 people from one guild they want to play together, but it’s not going to last long. The groups of 2-3 aren’t going to stay in WvW to fight those odds.

Obviously there is going to be more complaints about BG doing it because of all the transfers. The “Bigger” roaming guilds should try and get their players to split up. Try roaming in pairs or in threes. Make the fights fun and exciting instead of OMG THERES 10 OF US AND 2 OF THEM ITS RAWR TIME BABY.

I’m not sure what about seasons caused this, but there was definitely something. Before WvW season you go into any bl and find groups of 2-3 people looking to fight. You would fight them and if you won there would be 2-3 more people right around the corner ready to go. Since season ended it has been complete kitten.

my only question is why would engies get a stealth detector? they can stack stealth for a pretty long time..

Like i said Veretta, i’m not talking bad about you. I completely understand red=dead. Even though i don’t usually initiate the fight if i see its a bunch of other roamer specs, i don’t run from it. Just pointing out to OP that BG does the same thing to other servers players. I’ve been chased by an entire zerg before for killing a squishy in the back of the tail.

Everyone paid for this game and has the right to play it however it amuses them. Ganking/Zerging/Dueling etc.

i am an engineer, i just find this completely unbalanced that a class can 3-4 shot someone with a tanky build. i am in all rabid,carrion and dire gear.

its unbalanced? what about your gear. your main stat is condi and the rest is tanky. you get all the condi damage you want + survivability. That glassy thief will be an easy kill for you once you dodge his backstab..

I solo roam and deal with this every night. Rarely does a night go by i dont see 3-5 riot or 3-5 opp chasing me. In no way am i saying this is a bad thing. I understand that those 3-5man groups are attempting to find other groups of the same size or even bigger to fight. Obviously no ones going to say, oh hey its only one person lets keep going. Just pointing out to OP that it happens to all servers/players.

Yes it sucks always having to fight 1vX. No it doesn’t suck when you finally break someone from their group and down them as you see their group quickly rushing to their downed friend to res.

I laugh at these comments….so because exotics is a slight increase to rares, then we can use rares in WvW? why not just use greens? no wait blues work fine?

Of course it is a slight increase in stats…but it is that slight upgrade that keeps you alive in Zerg fights….

You can sya the same thing about food and oil. It is a slight increase so why bother? because 70+ vitality makes a huge difference when you are standing in 100 necro AoEs and ACs firing down on you..

most people are 29-32k hp warriors in zerg fights. is 33k hp going to save your life? if you are down to 1k hp, odds are your backliners are dead and your melee train is slowly dying.

since you brought up zerg fights, meaning you run in the blob, im sure you’ve taken keeps/smc/garri. you have the mats you need anyway.

I still find it funny people complain about permastealth. Stand in that RED circle and watch how much fun they have heartseeking through it. Drop aoes around you and see how long that squishy thief hangs around you.

How come its okay for mesmers to have just as much stealth and zerk clones doing who knows how much damage to you while they are still stealthed? Why can necros chain fear you and condi bomb you to death before you can do anything? Why can warriors (list too long)? etc.

i solo roam and can barely find people willing to fight without odds in their favor. It’s not just jq players who wont fight 1v1.

three [PiNK] thieves were in ruins on jqbl and if i managed to get one to wander off from from the other 2, he/she would cloak and dagger off an animal and run back to his buddies.

Don’t put your servers on some high pedestal because you think you fight unfair odds.

I always lose interest in playing a few days into the match after it becomes clear there’s no one worth roaming around to find. I know it’s better overall to be in gold league, but I do miss EB.

Anyone on JQ who does run around solo is a tanky condi mesmer with perplexity, or a condi engi with perplexity, its a perplexapalooza.
