DREAM COME TRUE.

Don't understand how Guns/Tanks fit in this game.

The charr could take Divinities Reach anytime they wanted.

They already tried and failed horribly, like with Ebonhawke Stronghold, after many failed attempts to even breach the walls the Charr simply believe its a “waste of time and effort”

Also with the awakening of the Elder Dragons they just kind of decided to work together since to not have one would mean the defeat of the others.

If you listen to soldier and civilian dialogue, Ebonhawke was going to fall. It was Queen Jennah that decided to offer a peace treaty to the Charr to save what they had left and perhaps gain new relations. As you can see, the Charr have already agreed to let the humans resettle on some of the land Ascalon outside of Ebonhawke. Basically, this was the make up for their long mindless war… aaaaand that they find humans useful in some ways to be considered as allies.

As for the guns. If you look at the designs of the guns, lore-wise they would be similar to matchlock rifles. (There are machine guns in this game but they operate like gatling guns and are stationary emplacements.) Game mechanics wise though, they couldn’t let players wait 15 seconds between every shot so they made it so it can be rapid fired.

Do you feel bad for the Ghosts of Ascalon?

(Quote links disappeared, again)

‘’That’s not true at all. The Charr fight the humans in Ebonhold because they’re the last vestige of human occupancy in Ascalon. If they really just wanted war, there are plenty of other races out there to fight. But they’re not, just humans and just in Ascalon. ’’

The Charr fought the Forgotten Ones in the crystal desert, long before the humans set foot in Ascalon. They invaded Kryta, where they had no business and they pressed on to Orr after The Searing. And they plundered the homesteads of Norn living near. They made few friends anywhere.

“Also, they don’t fight each other like you think. The Flame Legion brought some corrupt gods to the Charr and were leading them astray. The other legions fought back & drove out the gods.”
No, whenever the Charr unite they fight other nations, when they’re not united they fight each other. There were no corrupt gods, these were Titans, captured by the Flame Legion and posed as Gods for the Charr, as a balance against the human gods, uniting the Charr once more.
And the ones to dethrone these false gods was an Ebon Vanguard heroin and an assorted group of nearly all races (humans, asura, norn, charr and dwarves) that did so.

" They are bread for battle because that has been their life for generations."
So, in the end, they do not know, or did not know, anything other then battle.

But the thing is, the Charr society evolved when they broke free from the Flame Legion’s rule. Casted them out. rather than believe in Gods, they took fate into their own hands and became the large military might they are now. They’re no longer savages as before but professional. They only wage wars that benefits them. They will ally with other races if it benefits them. There are a lot of NPC Charr around the world that believe the war against the humans was pointless and was relieved that the treaty was finally signed and can focus their other fronts against the Branded and the Flame Legion to protect their people. They fought because it was their duty as soldiers.

Even some humans prefer the organization of structure of the Charr. One stood out in Gladium’s Canton. He used to be a trader before being captured near Ebonhawke and brought to the Black Citadel though he wasn’t jailed. After the treaty was signed he was released but rather than going back to trading, he stayed and became a crafter’s apprentice. That probably goes with the other human, asura, and sylvari plebians that live in the Citadel also. Don’t forget that the Charr are also allowing humans to set up outposts outside the Ebonhawke lands. Both sides believe that their war was wrong, especially when it was just blind hatred that caused it.

Shame that it took the awaken of the Dragons to make them realize this.

On topic about the ghosts. I feel sorry for both sides ghosts and Charr. In a sense, they’re both still fighting the war that caused Ascalon to burn. Reliving the past.

Charr Attitude: Nature or Nurture?

Actually the charr aren’t mostly angry, mean and racist. There’s many Charr NPC’s that don’t hate humans. There’s one in particular I remember is a Charr who joined the Vigil after the truce was signed. Basically he said he fought because it was his duty in the war. Now that the war was over, he can concentrate on what mattered which was fighting the dragons and saving his people.

There are also plenty of plebians that live in the Black Citadel including every race who basically have the right to live and work on Charr lands and given protection by the Adamant Guard which do their job. A gladium was picking on a human before an Adamant Guard told him off. The gladium asked why he was defending the human and the Adamant Guard basically said it city rules and applies to everyone, including non-charr.

Charr are militaristic. Very professional. Remember, two of the three Imperators also favor the peace treaty, especially with the dragons about. If there was a racist ratio, humans probably have more racists against Charr then Charr against humans. Countless times I hear humans complaining about Charr for killing their ancestors and such or having them around the city in Divinity’s Reach while Charr focus on the here and now with the dragons.

For the cubs, I would think it would be nature. The cubs ARE raised in fahars with other cubs who are now their family so their opinions of the world would be how they would take it individually.

Thanks to the Flame Legion, a lot of charr distrust magic users so most likely they result to old fashioned medical care with trauma kits and such.

Perhaps there’s still issues with some of the items they had before such as capes which were removed temporarily to fix the clipping issues it had on charr and other armors. Maybe they’ll release them back as we get more content updates.

Though for the pink fur… Anet really likes to keep immersion and keep to their overall world design. Just humans will rock pink hair and such but those could just be hair dyes. Charr, especially with their culture and traditions and just overall how beastial they are, seeing that pink fur will definitely raise design questions.

The ammount of clipping issues is kitten hig!

People, people, you have to remember:
Clipping is a part of almost EVERY MODERN VIDEO GAME.
Look at Skyrim. Pick an Argonian or Khajit, and their tails clip through almost every armor set.
Seriously, clipping like this isn’t a problem.

You might have a point if they didn’t have armors that didn’t have clipping in the game. The heavy t3 armor works just fine. They built around the tail. There is absolutely no reason why they can’t do that for the rest of the charr armors. It’s just pure laziness and bad game design.

I don’t think it would take all that long to make some unique meshes to fit the charr tales in. 2-3 days to make the meshes and another 2-3 days to test them.

As mentioned above, if amateurs can do it in games like Skyrim I’m sure pros shouldn’t have any trouble doing it as well.

Don’t get me wrong, I love my charr warrior, he’s a kitten incarnate. But the clipping still needs to be fixed.

It just isn’t meshes. It will possible include new texture work and new bump mapping. Also it’ll probably mess with the original design of the look. The only way to keep it from changing too drastically is to cut holes for the tails but even that will look just as weird as the clipping issues.

Personally, i’d like more time being spent on more charr culturals than fixing up the non-charr armor

Why Is This Concept So Hard To Grasp?

perhaps because every medium set looks like the same, heavy armor sets are all bulky and when someone says (myself) we could have another couple of skimpy ones i get stoned to death by irrational haters, where only light sets (for females) looks good and i struggled to get one that looked decent and manly (for my mesmer).

What does your inability to deal with female characters that aren’t half naked, have to do with the topic? They aren’t “irrational haters”, for telling you to stop making gamers look bad.

You my friend are one of his “irrational haters”. People have different preferences in gear and that doesn’t give gamers a bad reputation unless you’re crazy and super uptight. It’s fantasy, a video game! This is not real life, I don’t shoot fire out of a Staff and run super fast in my real life. I do however like getting into the visual aspect of any game I play and as a girl, I prefer characters that look pretty. Head to toe covered up with no style at all is not pretty to me. More fashionable looks with feminine styles like dresses and skirts is what I like and lucky me my main is an Ele who gets to wear that stuff.

Honestly one of the reasons I haven’t leveled my Guardian very far is because the heavy armor for females is the ugliest thing I have ever seen. They need more cute/pretty fashionable and feminine styles. More skin is a good start but it doesn’t need to look like chain/plate armor because in real life chain/plate is ugly as sin. Nothing wrong with making it look different for the sake of style – after all the endgame here is all about looks anyway, right?

and you, my friend, sound like one of those TERA players signing petitions to put the Elin characters back in panties, or posting on GameFAQS about how hot the chicks from Borderlands are.

More skin isn’t a “good start”. You want that lame kitten pandering kitten go play TERA. I’m not irrational, irrational is not playing a character because there isn’t enough of your midriff showing.

The rest of your babbling doesn’t even make sense, chain and plate doesn’t look good on skin?!? What??!?

Someone who calls you on being a stereotypical gamer, nerd boy who needs stereotypical skimpy armor, isn’t irrational.

I have respect for designing the female armor is this game because it doesn’t sexualize them and retains the meaning of protection and heavy armor. There are still aessthetic differences between females and males but they all look good and practical for being called heavy armor. Leather armor theres a few more revealing outfits you can say. Skimpy cloth doesn’t really matter since its cloth and adding more cloth doesn’t help stop a giant two-handed sword. I was walking around and saw a female character in some IMPRESSIVE looking combination of armor and commented on the incredible look and gained myself a friend. “Now that’s a female knight”

Also yes, this is fantasy, not real life, but it is Anet’s fantasy and this is how Anet views female warriors

I was going to say maybe its because since Vigil are frontline fighters, Norns and Charr are the most common because of their strength and the Asuras with their MEGA LASER CANNONS PEW PEW though the reason that Humanity falling could be a thing after what the Charr managed to scare the humans of Orr and Ascalon to blowing themselves up. We have to remember though that there is still humans over in Cantha and Elona though right now Elona/The Crystal Desert is being ruled by an undead king. Once we re-establish connections, perhaps Humans can rise once again.

Cultural armor would be the best. Normal helmets are modeled for more humanoid races. That being said, once I got the Tier 3 heavy helmet, I will never trade it in for anything else.

The thing is, what will YOU do to fix this clipping issue? From my view, this is the best we can get. Charr shoulder pads are large and spikey, shields and some weapons will clip into them but what can we do to change it to make it even more ridiculous? Vanishing spikes? Remove armor piece entirely? Position the shield lower though that won’t look right. There are some things we just have to deal with just cause there’s no other way to make it better. It seems like the best we can get. Also some shoulder pads have to be lifted to avoid further clipping with different armor configurations.

As for weapons clipping into cloth and leather. The only possible way to fix weapon clipping that I can think of is instead of rigging the weapons statically to the model skeleton around the waist, but instead make it act as a “ragdoll” or with physics that collide with armor though that can still make it look silly with the jerky movements of the characters and will also have to rig the armor into the physics system.

Also if I’m not mistaken, there’s an event in Harathi Highlands where Iron Legion is bombarding a Centaur camp while you charge in there and get rid of their supplies. Once the event ends, the Charr says “The Iron Legion sends their regards. Let’s get back to the base!” At least that shows that the Charr are willing to aid the Seraph in their war against the Centaurs.

For Tarnished Coast. The Guild Bank and Vendor are located right behind the wall of the building. In the alleyway behind the waypoint. You can find moved NPC’s by checking your map for their icon.
