It’s an animation error. A child is a model which is ‘parented’ by another model (usually when two models temporarily attach to each other). The bones are the bits inbetween the animated joints of arms, legs etc. Looks like the model was trying to pick up/drop an item and bugged.

I know it’s only monday, but im stating to grow a bit impatient….

It’s really not as hard as some moderators have made it sound.
The aspects of what is needed to reward players are already in the game in various ways, why not clip these bits of code and put them together? >.>

I was one of many who were disconnected at the last minute therefore did not recieve a reward, I have seen the posts saying that they are looking for a way to reward people.

Has this happened yet? Any new news?

I live in the UK and play on an NA server, no noticable difference when just running about. Slightly laggy when in a major event, but nothing whcih should cause any real problems

Some sort of historical collection may make players more inclined to interact with things. For example, you could find a monument, find or uncover a related artifact nearby and make a collection for some sort of reward

That’s a very nice idea also! Some sort of readable inscription (as found on some statues) or maybe an ‘old book’ next to some of these sites would add a little extra.

I love playing GW2 and i love how ANet have included historical monuments from the times of GW1.
I like exploring these areas and remembering first seeing those monuments quite a few years ago when i started playing GW1.

I was hoping there would be more history on the new island, but so far I have found nothing :c

Are there plans to add (or unveil) more historical elements to the game?

Would you like to see more of this?

I would quite like a Historical Tour option (working similar to a world-wide vista) >.<

Yes I am aware that the thoughts I had didn’t cover those who failed to attent the event all together.
This would mean the event has to be re-run (taking into account those who already looted the chest)
However, this would come with it’s own problems.
A: It takes hours
B: It may take even longer a second time as only those who had issues will be playing it
C: Nobody really knows the number of effected people, so the servers may do the same thing all over again.

Only about 1% of you actually read my fist post properly. I explained how people would still only get one chance of opening the chest, the loot would be in the same table as the event AND only those who would have got the chest (if they stayed connected) will get it.

I feel let down by this event due to lag/disconnects

Raven, that’s because the first event was in Lions Arch, which stretches rendering capabilitys of most systems even when empty of players/mobs.
The other events were in an explorable zone, which are much better at handling data

I got Abyss Dye from a level 30~ mob just before the event. During the event i got absolutely NOTHING

Like many people, I was disconnected right before the end and therefore was unable to get the chest.

However, ANet have logs of who was taking part in the final event. So it would make sense to compile a list of these accounts and make an NPC in LA to hand out unclaimed rewards.
Since the chest had unique values, it should be easy to find the logs of those who already looted the chest and so block them from being able to interact with the NPC or claim further rewards.
Im hoping this is what is being done

The island that they did give us is boring. The terrain mesh dosen’t even look like it has been ‘sculpted’ like with every other zone. It looks like it was randomly generated with a few extra terrain models piled ontop. There is nothing of interest in the new zone, nothing worth going back for.
Like someone else said, not even anything map-completion related.

Monsters are boring, the Karka look all the same and most mobs don’t even have a path set out, so they just stand still constantly.

It really does seem that this is a beta (unfinished) zone

I apreciate your input but there are a number of problems:

A security feature has no way of telling who is using a CC. The banks can tell this (after some time) through their top-of-the-range security software coupled with dedicated teams of highly trained fraud investigators. ANet has none of these (as is understandable – they are a gaming company, not a bank)

I do not have any other CC available and can not use paypal because it’s still the same CC.

I can not buy gemstore cards at a retailer as i live in the UK (unless i maybe go into London, but that’s a long trip).

If ANet’s system were to be designed to ‘lock’ CCs to matching GW accounts then the system would work. But it would also bring up problems with regards to legitimately using the same card on multiple accounts.

The fact that I was able to use my card on an account which was not mine is surely proof that your system dosent do it’s job even when it’s not bugging out, right?

If card details are stolen and used (without the card being reported stolen) then your security systems will still let the transaction through, there is not much you (or any system) can do about this without ruining the accessability of the feature.

If the card is reported stolen then the bank will deny the transaction….

So what is your system for exactly? O.o

PS: Am i not correct in thinking that every major bank in the world has as much hi-tec security as it can handle?…especially for online purchases…

Is additional (gw2) gem-store security REALLY needed? Your security systems can’t match what the banks and credit card companys use, so why use it at all? It’s clearly just getting in the way.
If someone does happen to find themselves on the recieving end of a fraudulent transaction then 9 times out of 10 they will contact (or be contacted by) their bank.

It’s all very well having an ‘early warning’ system such as what you use, but it obviously needs a lot more tweaks and debugging before you can include it in the game.

As a company, you have put a fair ammount of money into getting the word out about the Halloween events, however this flawed security system is losing you a lot of money, as is obvious when you read the hundreds of unresolved gemstore posts on here.
Not to mention the probable countless unanswered tickets, posts on your twitter and facebook pages and the ammount of people generally ranting in-game.

Remove the piece of software until the issue is resolved, it is simple.

I have been able to purchase gems up until a few days ago when my bank blocked my card (for unrelated security issues)

I went to buy gems without realising the bank had done this. When the transaction was declined by the bank, it triggered your anti-fraud system.

Now I have spoken to my bank and they have unblocked my card, however your security system is still blocking it.

Please override your system for my account. I know this can be done.

I wish to buy gems before the halloween event items become unavailable. Some gems are for me and some are for my partner as a late birthday present.

I am planning on buying quite a lot of gems when this issue is resolved.

For such a simple problem, I have spent days waiting for a response and it now feels like I am just being passed around your support teams.
