Seriously, please do something about this. The lag in the new area makes it unplayable, and it has been like this for days now. It’s become so bad one can basically walk through the sand river without getting hit, and using assisted leap is no longer viable because you will always fall in mid air. I won’t even mention jumping puzzles as I don’t want to swear.
Invest in some servers, please.
I guess Anet really shouldn’t have changed any legendary skins with all this complaining.
If you crafted it, you were obviously satisfied with it’s current status.
And that last sentence, basically, sums this up. Many people made the Meteorlogicus because they liked how it looked. And those of them who don’t like the new look feel cheated. Myself included.
And considering it was – and still remains – one of the cheapest precursors out there, you think that proves the changes are “wohaaa!”?
As I said (and you just confirmed), the price raise occured before any details of the revamp were made public. One thing that this proves is people who flip on TP know how (and when) to flip on TP.
No brainer here, yours looks much better than the new one.
The price of the precursor didn’t double as a result of recent changes. Prices of all precursors have drasticaly gone up early on 27th August, before any details of the revamp were revealed, most likely as a result of well-coordinated flipping.
The price of Storm is actually slowly decreasing since the update. GW2 spidy is your friend.
It’s all a question of sensitivities. The “stop crying plz” from Annelotte’s original post seems overtly rude and bad form to me, much more than my reaction.
This is a heated discussion and my feeling is owners of Meteorlogicus (myself included) have the right to be kitten ed about what happened. You are ok with the changes, I’m happy for you. But at least try showing some empathy instead of bumping into the discussion with no arguments other than smileys’.
This is not directed at anyone personally, so don’t take it that way. I appreciate everyone sympathising, especially if they like the new weapon. Problem is many of us hate it, and feel cheated right now.
He/She may own it or not. To be honest, this is absolutely irrelevant. I made a weapon very different from the one that I now have in my inventory. I happen to very dislike as it looks right now. If someone was in the same situation and now likes it, good for him.
Doesn’t make it right for me, or people who share the same disgust to the current aesthetics.
Happy for everyone who spent a tone of time and money crafting a very different weapon, and is now satisfied with the new version. I am not. Give me the old one back or just take that kitten away and give me back the components, I will craft something else that I can enjoy.
stop crying plz Meteorlogicus is perfect..the Purple and footsteps are awesome ;D
You may like it. But since you don’t own it and didn’t put plenty of your time and money making a very different weapon from the current version, you could have the curtesy to just kitten.
If this is confirmed, I will actually transmute my Meteorlogicus into just anything until they roll back today’s changes. Makes me wanna puke when I see it now.
My feelings exactly.
Let me add one more point: return the old light blue glow. The only good thing about the changes is the stars / clouds effects, everything else just ruined one of the best looking lengadaries in this game. I honestly feel like uninstalling this game right now.
I never was closer to quiting this game. I could maybe learn to ignore these idiotic footsteps – at least they are small – but the kittenING glows, both the purple one (not even going to comment on that one) and the new shade of blue (worse in every possible way) I simply can’t. I feel like vomiting when I see this weapon now.
Yes, there was a change to Bolt’s footsteps. Meteorlogicus got them somehow.
kitten even the blue glow is changed now and looks just way worse. Seriously, f** this, I’m off for the night.
Its horrible the lack of glow when stowed is just bad. The foosteps are simply idiotic, not only they look bad – worst footsteps out of all available out there – but they don’t fit this weapon at all. Its not Bolt ffs!!
I am not even going to comment on the purple glow at night (but yes, it looks as ugly as I have feared). It was said more than enough times here, you simply don’t do such a thing.
Not spending a cent in the gem store until this weapon is fixed.
My 2 cc’s as an owner of the current Meteorlogicus:
1) stars and clouds are cool
2) everything else, is, well, a disaster. +1 to the footsteps looking cheap and not fitting that weapon, on top of the fact the lack of any footsteps was one of the reasons why I made it in the first place. Some people like them, some don’t, it’s unfair to change this in case of an item that is so expensive to make. Unfair to those who made it specifically because they like it as it is. +1 to an absolute hatred of any purpl’ish effect on that weapon. I love the current glow, I love the trail it currently leaves when you swing it, it is delicate and very fitting.
Never was I so afraid before an update as I am today.
As an owner of FSP, I would hate to see it changed. I do not want footsteps, I do not want aura, I too believe this legendary is close to perfect as it is.
It’s all in the details and design, really. Many people made this one because they liked it as it is. Let’s keep it that way, and wait for another legendary shield? I am pretty certain we will soon get something to choose from.
Yep you got it, we all want to blend in Frostgorge. And we definitely don’t want to blend in Blazeridge Steppes.
I’m actually a bit ‘worried’ about China. Just look at the trailer they had and the # of views – they only have 44K in a month. That’s a really, really low number.
But then again, I don’t even know if the Chinese use youtube as their main video site. They don’t even use twitter or google.
Youtube is blocked in China. They use something called youku.
I am hoping Tuesday never comes. That day I will have to look at my Meteorlogicus glowing purple. Not fun at all.
+1 to adjusting skill animations when using legendaries, instead of applying changes that can ruin them for some players (like that ugly purple glow on Meteorlogicus).
This thread shall be bumped. Meteorlogicus shall not be purple!!!
My Flameseeker Prophecies doesn’t want footprints.
But seriously, changing the effects of legendaries is a two sided sword if you don’t give people the option to turn off those new effects. I crafted my shield because I liked it the way it is. I don’t want footsteps, I don’t want a bigger aura, I just want it the way it is.
Neither does mine. +1 for the lack of footsteps and aura, the shield is perfect as it is.
Also, whoever had the bright idea of calling changing the glow of the Meteorlogicus from light blue to purple an “upgrade” has a weird sense of humor. I seriously hope this new screenshot is a joke, you simply don’t “upgrade” this way items that took months to craft.
There is a huge difference between improving a legendary – adding some effects, altering the look of some skills, etc – and changing the color scheme. That is simply unfair, just as you said.
I am not sure whether anyone asked Anet to improve Meteorlogicus. I know three more people who have it, and all of them love it as it is right now. They all crafted it because of its amazingly detailed design, the not over-exagerated effects (no footprints, for one) and because they did like the current color scheme. And so did I. If this gets changed, I for one will simply feel cheated.
I hate this change as well if they indeed do “upgrade” Meteorlogicus in that way, it might very well kill the game for me. As the OP said, this is not a minor change, a purple glow (which I also hate, and have no mesmer for the same reasons) drastically changes the aethethics of this weapon. In a way I very much dislike.
There is another topic on the matter already, maybe they should be merged – https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/I-am-against-new-colors-of-Meteorologicus
Go away, troll. He has every right to play the game as he likes it, and have the look that he likes. He also has every right to protest when upcoming changes are possibly going to ruin it for him.
I really, really hope the screenshot we saw is just a lighting effect from the zone. Changing meteorlogicus to have a purple glow would be dangerously close to killing this game for me. I just finished crafting it, and its going to be ruined already?
Anet has said they are “upgrading” visuals on several legendaries. Changing the glow from light blue to purple is not an upgrade, its a disaster for those of us who carefully plan the looks of their characters and decided to make this scepter as it is right now. I do not mind if you upgrade my weapons, like adding the stars effect. But changing the lighting effect – that drastically – will simply ruin this legendary for many of us. For the love of God, the current glow is awesome, DONT MAKE IT PURPLE! If I wanted a purple weapon, I would have crafted Bolt
Besides the general look and awesome level of details, there are two things that made me fall in love with Meteorlogicus: the lack of footsteps (the very delicate trail it leaves is perfect as it is) and the light blue glow, which goes extremely well with my legendary shield. Add to this that both legendaries have golden elements, and they look awesome together. Please don’t ruin it
Here is my current dungeon runing look:

The official stance on macros (linked here several times) is quite hard to understand. They literaly say you cannot do a macro that clicks several times the same key to open a bag. So, we are to understand the only allowed is 1 macro = 1 key hit. Problem is this is not a macro, this is a key binding.
Now promoting a GW2 keyboard which is advertised as easy to use macro’s on just adds to the confusion.
kitten please tell me the purple glow on the meteorlogicus is a joke. Please. This totally changes the weapon, I have both it and the Flameseeker Prophecies and they look great together. This is why I made them. I want no purple glow!!!!
retracted, it spawned after Jormag was dead and only one of the areas was buged (not spawning monsters), afaik.
Yesterday (it was the second invasion after the patch) no overflow managed to finish it, as over half of the events were buged and didn’t spawn enemies.
Today (8:00 am CET) it says minions are attacking Frostgorge Sound, and they are nowhere to be seen. Not a single event poped up.
All the above on Seafarer’s Rest, but I quickly checked Vizunah and it is the same.
Whoever coded this cheating piece of f*** risks ending up in the coder’s hell, wherever that is. Seriously, does anyone think he is fun? I had more fun hitting my head against the wall.
The guys is simply a cheat, and not fun at all. Skipping this.
^ maybe because your aquabreather replaces your head gear underwater ?
I am humbled never thought of that, haha!
Not sure if that belongs to the guardian forum, but hey. 6 runes of the soldier effect (shouts remove a condition) does not work underwater, at least not with the guardian shouts. I’ve tested them all.
One more. Sometimes I will find myself unable to swap weapons during combat. From what I’ve heard from random people so far, this seems only to happen to guardians (I had three other people confirm this, all guardians themselves, and no other class ever confirmed having this problem).
I will be able to swap weapons as soon as I get out of combat.
Not sure if this was reported or not.
Renewed Justice will not recharge your virtues if you dodge while its activated. You will still be invulnerable and the skill will go into cd, though.
Plenty of such offers on gw2lfg every day. They kill Dwayna and sell their spot in the group. The price seems to be set at 15g. As this is an obvious abuse of the games mechanics (allows someone to complete the path without actually doing almost anything) and is done for a mercantile purpose, could we please have an official standing on this from Robert?
My suggestion: nothing short of an exploit. Ban them all to hell?
Guardians have so many blinks, immobilizes (which are 5,000 times better than a cripple,) and chill (via hammer trait)
Just a short hijack, but you should really rethink that part. Considering the CD this is maybe the most useless trait we have.
How about making MF in dungeons work in such a way that it would benefit everyone in the team? Of course by a proportional fraction of it, so let’s say you have only one person in a five man team with 100 MF, then everyone gets 20 MF during the run. No gear inspection laments, no whining that someone’s dps or survivability is lower because you benefit from his MF just as much as he does benefit from your higher dps and / or survivability. Everyone helps the team here gear-wise, sounds fair to me. Thoughts?
If you are playing on EU servers, send me a mail (Gnarsh The Wall). I will be running an introductory run to fractals for some newer guildies & friends and will gladly take you along.
It falsely inflates the time to finish the fractal and it sucks. It’s not fun or challenging, it’s just frustrating and annoying. It’s like getting caught or traffic or getting stuck in mud on your way to work. It’s not more difficult getting to work, it’s just takes longer and is extremely frustrating.
That basically sums up my feelings on the matter as well. I don’t feel any added challenge in here, I don’t feel there is much room for improvement of my skills other than remembering by hearth the places where the harpies don’t see you and you can safely (albeit slowly) aoe them to death, that is until they go invulnerable of course. It’s just a long and painfully frustrating experience, and simply not fun.
Ive never seen them glitch past my wall of reflection. It must be the positioning of the wall, I guess you might not be aware that at certain angles, projectiles can actually pass over the wall, and hit the team (Example: SE P1 Triple Golem Part has shot over wall and hit my team)
Happened to me a couple times (playing a guard as well). I am aware the positioning is key here and sometimes a ball can hit you from above where no wall will help, but what seems to be happening is the projectile’s hit or miss result is being determined as soon as it fires, and not when it actually hits. If you place the wall once a ball is fired but before it hits the ground below you, the ball will go right through it. Happened to me twice on a recent run, ball was going straight through it, and I wasn’t the only one seeing this clearly – the whole team was, in fact.
I think a lot of other mmos actually make you run slower in combat. Think of it this way, they designed the combat to work in certain run speed, and then decided to give you a speed boost out of combat, so you can explore places faster.
Some maybe, none of those I played did though. But more importantly, to my knowledge in no other mmo jumping played such an important role as in GW2. The slower running would be almost unnoticeable if it didn’t make you fail jumps that often.
Looks like you don’t like to play challenging games. I used to laugh there whenever i failed.
I’ve main tanked on WoW for 2 years throughout all the endgame content of two expansions, at the time this was still challenging. So yes, I like challenging games. What I don’t like is flawed mechanics and buggy content, which is the case here.
Dear Devs, dear Robert Hrouda,
Highjacked from Robert Hrouda in another thread:
That being said, of the light/medium armor sets I play (I won’t even bring guardian or warrior into the fight since we all know they don’t have too much trouble in melee) I actually have an easier time on my mesmer in Melee than my ranger… due purely to how well a melee mesmer can mitigate damage and control. I don’t do as much damage, but I can survive with warriors and guardians for the most part.
You do make it sound as if you play this game, besides developing it. That is great. I have a question then: have you ever played through the uncategorized fractal at higher levels? Have you ever puged it (as in: went with random people without revealing you are a Dev?) Did you enjoy those runs?
The reason I’m asking is from my experience, I would say this one single place probably generates more hatred to the developing team, your company and life in general than all the other aspects of this game combined. I honestly cannot remember a run in which people wouldn’t swear and say things that would be rather impolite to repeat publicly in this forum. The place makes people scream, and there are a couple of reasons for this. Let me name a few.
- harpies lightning balls randomly flying through walls of reflection and other projectile control effects as if they were thin air,
- harpies lightning balls hitting random places with no warning at all (the elusive invisible red circle),
- the cream of the cream, the mechanic that slows down people and makes them unable to jump properly when in combat.
The first two things just require some fixing, there is not much to add here. Let me just point out this is a rather horrible place for placing red circles, as on some of the smaller platforms you can hardly see them, especially if you play a larger size character. But let’s elaborate a bit on my third point. This is, by far, the most idiotic and annoying mechanic I have ever encountered in any mmo. And believe me I have played quite a few. I have no clue why you introduced it, I do not know if it does serve a hidden purpose or not, but whatever were your reasons the same goal could be achieved by something that actually makes sense and doesn’t regularly infuriate your player base. Slowing down in combat doesn’t make any sense at all. Oh the stress, someone is aiming at me! I don’t even know who and where, but I will stop jumping in mid air and fall to my death. Seriously, how stupid is that? If you want to make some jumps hard, add cripple effects to the mobs in that area. The code is already there, there is nothing simpler than that. At least we could see the cripple effect and try to counter it. The slow in combat mechanic is extremely annoying because its invisible, hits you when you least expect it, and lacks any logic. I honestly cannot think of any added value from having this mechanic in the game, the only thing it seems to do is make people go mad.
Have mercy, fix that place one way or another. You promised a serious review of the dungeons this year. It’s a good place to start.
(edited by Gburzak.7035)
Since January and it became Worse in 13th patch:
- Game disconencts from nothing- Also, it got some lag Spikes from nothing, few seconds come back to normal, this never happened before and my connection is pretty stable when thoose happen.
This is happening at a rate now that me and also my guildies CAN’T ignore.
This. Exactly the same symptoms since the last maintenance. I get dc’ed every hour more or less, for a few seconds. I also got lag spikes a few times.
None of this has ever happened before, and my connection is definitely not a problem here. Please fix this!!!!
As in the topic. There is a guy on Seafarer’s Rest, Lion Arche’s TP autocasting this all the time, the sound is extremely annoying. He is either afk, uses autocast or a bot. Won’t respond, and of course won’t stop. Basically you have to turn the sound off when you are there. Only reason I can possibly think of for doing this is to annoy other people.
Does this merit a report for boting? It is automated, and it is hindering my gameplay. Screenshots with the character’s & account name are available.
I have no idea. But you make it sound like it is a game of stock market rather than a game of doing dungeons, pvp, or hack and slash mobs.
Playing the stock market and game economy is too much work for me.
And basically, that sums it up. Arena net promised a game that will be about slashing dragons, not about stock markets. OP’s whole point is about the fact it is possible to get such cash. Yep, it is. But is that fun? Not for me.
