What Amineo writes isn’t really correct. Isn’t really wrong either. If i ask experienced people for my raid and a non experienced one joins, I have all the rights to be upset and kick him. On the other instance, EU people is prolly more “elitist” than NA ones (i don’t know NA communities, so i just make assumptions from Amineo’s perspective). But, i can say, based on a recent experienced, that EU has plenty of nice people.
I recently started a Raid Training guild and already got almost 30 people inside. The other day 2 experienced chronos joined our raid and helped us clear the VG. They had around 120 LI each (prolly more i dont recall), and they were ultra nice and even told me to call em again if we need help.
In the end i can conclude is that IMHO there isnt much difference from the 2 communities, but if you want a place to raid (with noobs who are learning, so it may take some time to get constant results) i have a spot for you.
Well yesterday we got a nice group and had 2 veterans help us (i can’t write their names here because of rules, but you are the mvp!). And then we can announce that VG is dead. After a mere couple of hours of training, wiping and discussing tactics and improvements, he fell. So again this is proof that anyone can raid and be succesfull in that. Only thing needed is the proper mindset and putting apart our own’s lazyness. Since lots of poeple have joined (we alread have 20ish members), there probably won’t be place for every raid for everyone but if things go down in the correct way we might able to start 2 raids for each raiding night.
Thx for all the appreciation you showed so far. I really hope the devs don’t move this post since its meaning is tied to the complaints we constantly read on this section.
Also what i seek is that more of these initiatives to pop up. The best thing is trying to train always with the same persons, so you can learn as a group. Big groups tend to be “dispersive”. The best thing would be to have lots of small groups, so everyone can get accustomed to each other.
For me the best thing were the thanks of those players who never killed VG before, and yesterday they got one step closer to being full fledged raiders. We’ll keep going for the sake of the excluded and for all those who want to improve. Thanks again!

Hello folks, after reading countless rants about how entering the raiding world is hard and punishing, then i decided to take action. I created this Raid Training guild. I started it yesterday but i got already a few applicants and we even organized our first VG attempt. We brought it to 20% and there is a lot of room to grow.
Here is the discussion. Simply add me in game and i’ll let you in the guild.
I know this isn’t the correct place to post this, but since most ppl who complains about raids gather here, i think this could be very appealing to those wanting to learn but missing the occasion.

As the title suggests, I want to share my experience and create a progress/learning group to tackle raids. No represent needed, No stress, Just Training. Only requirement is Teamspeak (no mic needed, just listen), and a “im here to learn” attitude. We recruit any class and any players regardless of LI or other killproofs, as long as they respect the 2 rules:
Listen and respect others.

Hello, as the title says, what do you think about it? I wasted 650 gold gearing up condi warr, i dont wanna waste more money in something that will eventually get nerfed. Your thoughts?

What you fail to see here is that LK was the LAST BOSS of the WHOLE expansion, while vale guardian is the FIRST boss of the FIRST wing of the FIRST raid. I’ve played wow too much, and while i usually learnt whole fights in matter of a couple of tries (learning how to not screw up while mantaining dps), i find gw2 raids more challenging. Sindragosa’s fight was pathetically easy and i still have to figure out why ppl failed so miserably…
The reason why Raid was cleared by pugs on the first week, only means that there is no gear wall to block ppl outside of it. I’ve always been the best player of my Wow guild but they didnt recognize me as such because my dps was lower than others (couldnt spend all that time and they wouldnt give me kittening gear, so it’s like a dog biting his tail).
Let’s see what comes with next raid then we’ll see which are harder… We have lots of tears to cry yet…
And before someone talks about LK’s Defile, i answer, VG Green thing requires ppl to go on it in a short time, Defile needs that PPL ON IT move away. It’s easier noticing something black and ominous under your feet and move away, than identifiying a tiny green circle and getting there in time and with enough life so that you dont die while standing on it…
But just IMHO…
I’ve played whole wrath of the lich king and cataklysm, and normal raids were nowhere near gw2 raids, in terms of skill required. Wow had a more punishing dps check, but gw2 imho in terms of self placement and self management is much harder. Heroic raids in wow just added some new annoying mechanics and lowered the timer. Imho Sabetha requires more skill and organization than Lich King in heroic mode…
But basically i love gw2 raids much more than wow ones because the “wall” to surpass isn’t a gear check or a dps meter, but only the boss mechanic.
And just to be precise, once in wow you got the top gear, available content would be instantly trivialized (look at how EJ Elitist Jerks, managed to kill LK with 23 ppl instead of 25, without the 30% damage increase buff from the King…).
Last thing, i never deemed the mechanics in wow to be that strict… In gw2 if you dont have 4 ppl on the green thing is a 90% assured wipe. Wow didnt have that (unless you stand on the aoe and you die like a noob)…

Looking for a raiding guild, Full ascended ps warr / half ascended condi (soon fixed to full), full ascended dps herald, full ascended altruistic healing/tank guardian, half ascended healing druid, full ascended thief, full ascended dps tempest.
I have teamspeak and im willing to spend money/time to master bossess encounters, and swap classes if needs be.
I also have Reaper, engi, and mesmer. But they must be geared so i will only take em out of my hat if really really needed. I have skills and im helpful/i listen to others.
I’m only available with 100% safety after 21 gmt +1 time.

If you talk about GGO then thief is the best bet… Main hand Sword, Offhand pistol (just like in GGO), plenty of evades (healing ability + backwards leap for initiative) shadowsteps etc…
Having loved the series and this game as well (owning all classes), thief is the class that summarizes better Kirito.
As for dual wielding swords with a nice dps, as stated before, then only Revenant and Mesmer. But i dont really see any resemblance among those classes and Kirito’s first season ultimate dual wielding skill…
Does the rally on grubby thing for Brie still work? I usually give away the path to friends at last boss – alphard when I’m lazy – so it’s been a while since I last did it.
I like soloing hunter crusher on mes but then it’s so slow and lupi drives me insane on that class, for some reason. Definitely prefer p2 because I can solo it on whatever I want
A friend of mine got a temporary ban for using it since they consider it an exploit. I’d rather just kill the waves of risen so i have all the time to take brie to 1% without having to worry about the console plus a little trick (non exploit, just clever thinking) i won’t be spoiling here since i’ve seen no one using it… xD
Btw i used to sell 3 paths a day back in the days (got to craft my bolt like that) and still do sometimes. If you need a mentor/teacher i’d gladly help you out.

I have only an advice for OP. Stop playing. Stop playing online games. The online world is where one person “masks” himself behind a monitor. And thus every consequence of that person’s actions, are spoiled of their weight. And that is so that the real nature of humans emerge. Sure there is nice people and there is bad people like the normal world. Both aspects are different sides of the same coin. And so IF you can’t accept the human nature, you can’t relax in an online world where that nature is left wild and unchecked. This is a psychological advice. Stop playing the game because you will never ever stop that. Stop entering the online world where there is a “competitive” component.
It’s like a friend of mine complaining because forums are full of kittens (forums like tech ones etc..). The answer is simple: they are full of kittens because they are full of persons. Persons who hide themselves behind a screen and won’t take full responsability of what they say.
This is from the psycological point of view.
From a LAW point of view the only thing you are right is the VERBAL abuse. Tho im not free to swear to you, menace you, or intimidate you, I am free to stand wherever i want and unleash my skills however i want.
TL:DR Get over it or stop playing because nothing will change.
Nice move Anet, granting access through mere RNG, rather than player “quality” (money spent, Hours spent, AP, skill level, pvp rank…). So a newbie with no more than 100 hours of playtime could get a portal and ppl with 2k+ hours of game (like me) will not. Why i won’t get the portal? Because 2700 hours and 3 years after the release, 2 legendaries and 0 precursors.
To the guy who posted that the RNG is affordable, 2 friends of mine got quip precursor from the forge, from the same ip with just a couple of hours from one try to the other. High level RNG (used in professional applications) may be almost perfect. The anet’s one is not (i don’t believe there is only a single algorithm in the world for an RNG function…).
The problems in a company comes when the marketing/commercial department, doesn’t communicate with the “operative” department. I work in a retail shop, and when a customer buys something which is clearly BROKEN, we change the product itself or we REFUND the customer. If we find out a product is flawed, we take it away from the displays, and won’t sell it until we can assure complete functionality to our customers. And you are not following this simple rule. I’ve spent at least 500 euros i the past 3 years in this game, and i won’t be spending another single coin. Why? Because i know how to keep customers, and you don’t Anet. And you lost one of the best customers you ever had (tbh i’ve spent around 1000 euros in this game). Fixing this problem isn’t easy right? The admit your faults and take away LS chapters from the store, or temporarily disable the blocking achievement. It has been said thousand times in this thread. I’m not playing anymore, and I’m enraged because i could be still playing with my IRL friends. Guess what? Real life is pretty good, and at this point i don’t even know if im gonna buy Heart Of Thorns, because the customer service is poor and not even close to satisfactory.

I was able to get back a friend of mine on this game. He left again because of this. I can’t believe that you still can’t fix something that’s been broken since months. I can’t believe that people who bought this aren’t suing you yet. Now I’m quitting too because I’m pretty fed up with how things are developing. I will probably start again with Heart of Thorns, not sure tho’ because Warhammer 40k Eternal Crusade is about to come out this year. Good Job Anet…
This post is NON-constructive, it’s merely ranting and raging against something i deem unbelievable.

I bought this game weeks before release, and since then i kept spending money on it, cause it’s the best game i have ever played in my life (and i play since i was 6 years old, 30 now). I also subscribed a credit card in order to buy gems, to get me nice skins and useful stuff, as well to support the makers of this wonder. I spent 80 gold to buy the t3 pieces i wanted for my ele, and then thata beauty came out. I mean… it’s perfect. I bought without thinking twice, and even reskinned on cultural, ‘cause it was obviously the only thing to do. And now you tell me i lost everything? I bought Final Rest with golds to match my Tequatl’s wing on the best looking character i HAD, and now you tell me i made this for nothing?
This isn’t fair. And by reading this thread i see that there is clearly a division among 2 sides. So in either way you will lose customers Anet. Try thinking of something in the middle. Some good ideas popped up. As for me i would be satisfied if i could get back 800 gems AND the T3 pieces i already owned.
I just hope you can come to terms with your conscience as well. Something crystal clear is that I will never buy anything anymore on the BLTC, even if the new armor will look better (imho is impossible), because I’m afraid of what could happen. I fell in love and you are taking away that love.
Hope this message will be read as well as all the others in my same situation.
