Same issue. Can get into character select but can’t load any map. Sits at 0% for a while then network error and game exits.
These forums are so incredibly slow as well right now, maybe because no one can get in the game and we are just refreshing waiting on an update. That merged bug thread is the slowest of them all. Swear i’ve been trying to get to the last page for the last 10 minutes.
By mist war you mean WvW? You probably want to be doing WvW after you hit 80 and not for leveling. You’re looking for EotM.. though the matchups in eotm have not been great recently and sometimes people don’t tag up there because of it.
You can’t really get rid of blobs.
Having more defensible objectives actually promotes larger groups though because you need more people carrying supply and dpsing gates. If things were easier to take you might end up with smaller groups trying to take them and smaller groups being able to defend them. Everyone loves hitting a gate for hours while one guy keeps trebbing a door or ac-ing you..
If its an even fight its kind of cheap and ruins the fight. If you’re outnumbered like most of the cases in the video then its a great tactic.
Its not as hard as you would think to spot a commander. Decent guilds once they realized they are getting sniped (and pulls are super obvious) will try to do things to mitigate (like communicating better instead of just being a pin out front yelling obvious things).
There is nothing you can do about it, embrace it and adapt.
Make siege only throwable by commanders. This is kind of a rule in WvW anyway since it keeps things more organized. If someone wants to troll drop an AC on a gate you will see them tag up, this will probably discourage a lot of people from even doing it.
Exhaustion – This is not a good idea to do on deploy because, as it was mentioned before, siege is often dropped by a single person. It however would maybe be a good idea for BUILDING siege but not placing it. I like the idea that this could be mitigated if others help you build the item.
I also think forcing siege to be clicked on BEFORE you build might be a good thing. I’ve seen trolling where people will throw siege over a supply depot (so people would accidentally build it) or over a mesmer portal for example. I wouldn’t do this though unless you make siege easier to click on, particularly when they are close together.
None of these things will really STOP a dedicated troll but would probably curtail a considerable amount of casual trolling that some people do for a giggle now and again.
I’m guessing the people who work on gem store updates are working on other things so they are kind of phoning it in right now… that being said you guys could still be making money if you just priced things reasonably :/

Hey, a fellow shifter. How the heck do you 9/shift 9 though?
Because its big. A lot of people pick skins because they really stick out or catch your eye and the massive rucksack definitely gets noticed. Its the same reason people pick max size characters except it doesn’t inherently make you bad at jumping puzzles.
The pavillion stuff gave people a fairly easy opportunity to grab them again so they did. You’ll notice lots of items get super popular for a while then when the next big flashy item comes out you’ll barely see them anymore.

For streaming look into OBS (Open Broadcaster Software), its pretty good.

I’m just guessing but they probably wont bomb us with everything right on the first. I’d expect quite a bit of stuff but they wont want huge things like precursor crafting or new legendaries competing for your time against the LS content.
They are being pretty quiet about big incoming changes right now but i’d expect once LS S2 hits they might open up a bit like they did last year with a “things to (maybe) come in 2014” type of blog post.. or at least i can dream.
A lot of WvW/EotM comes down to pop. I’m willing to wager that the gap between green and red pops also gets larger the further you move down tiers. So teaming red vs green vs blue honestly seems like its going to hurt fights. I can say i’ve not really seen any good fights in EotM.. its almost always one large group comes in and kills the smaller group. This is what EotM in its best form currently is a K-Train.. because it doesn’t promote fair PvP well. The color pairing is convenient but I think its making EotM into something the devs probably didn’t intend.
That being said.. if you don’t mind a lot of running away a good commander can still take a lot of objectives if they watch the map and try to keep a beat on where the enemy is so they can avoid them.
I think the issue is due to megaservers Dragonite isn’t as accessible to people as it was and as are the rest of the ascended mats.
I mostly WvW, but I used to be able to supplement that by killing a lot of the world bosses daily. The dragonite income was pretty much on par with empyreal and all was good. World bosses do not really exist as an option for me anymore without timers.
The Dragonite that can be earned in WvW is extremely low in practice if you aren’t in a situation to just K-train. I have TONS of every other type of mat now while I wait around trying to get Dragonite. I’ve even stopped crafting deldrimor/damask because I’ve accumulated quite a bit while waiting for the Dragonite.
I’d prefer it if you could figure out something for megaservers. Being able to chose between megaserver or your specific server’s instance of the map I think would make so many people happy, not just for world bosses but for RP, for guild missions and for a whole lot of other reasons.
Otherwise can we get a another way to earn dragonite? One that doesn’t involve world bosses or WvW (since I know some people absolutely do not want to PvP) that I can supplement my WvW income with and that can be done despite megaservers?
They are rewards for the tournament so pretty much no chance of that. Its almost a certainty they will be back next tournament though so you might want to pop in and work on getting them then.
Man, if OP wants to make 21 characters with ascended gear and has that kind of time and motivation then good on them.
I really don’t like drop nerfs because I like loot and don’t get a lot of it as it is.. but if we step back bloodstone was kind of out-of-line with the rest of the ascended mats. There are still farms where you can get lots of it even if it is actually nerfed. As others have said, bloodstone is not the bottleneck, even at a reduced drop rate its still probably not going to be your bottleneck; its likely it will have no impact on you whatsoever.
Its fairly standard practice to say that your class is broken and everyone else’s is OP.
I find, as a player, its best just to do what you can and adjust your playstyle instead of arguing class balance opinions. Really have to rely on stats and not opinion for balance.

Why do necros forget about spectral walk? Its more than a swiftness, it breaks stuns and can take you out of danger very quickly, you just have to know how to use it.
If you know you’re about to be up against some hammer stuns or static fields you can save your spectral walk for them. if you are about to run into a place where line or ring of warding are going to be a problem then you can just sever out of them. Its also good in smaller fights (or even larger fights where you are getting focused) to get out of danger (do I chase or stay where the walk started.. hmm) or generally confuse your opponent. Its a spectral skill so it also helps keep DS up, though where continuous stuns are a problem cooldown is more of an issue.
I still agree stability is too big of an issue for necros currently (to the point I have started just using guardian for large scale fights where stability will be an issue) but Spectral Walk doesn’t get its proper dues.
… It’s a huge aid to warriors and necros mainly. Neither of those two classes have much condi clear and get wrecked quite easily by a condi bomb….].
Necro has a huge amount of condi clear, a lot of our core mechanics are based around clearing and transferring conditions. Lemongrass is a problem for us when an enemy zerg runs it though since we’re mostly just tagging everything with conditions with very little direct damage… so i definitely suggest you guys use compote, Lemongrass will just make you fat…

Their use of voice comms was exceptional. It not only included guilds but also a good number of pugs. With a good large core group like that leading by example and able to type in map chat they were able to get it done with only a little bit of extra time to spare. Its an unsual amount of coordination for this game.
Time will tell if that sort of thing is maintainable or if experience can make up for voice comms (because getting pugs on DB to voice comm is like trying to put out the sun with an ice cube). I see what they are trying to do, you don’t play an MMO so you can avoid working with other people, but i’m not sure uninstanced Teq with a mass of randoms over map chat is any better right now.. we’ll have to see how it pans out with more experienced players over time.

I’m glad that someone likes her… to me she is almost unbearably annoying. Every time I hear “Later tater” I want to punch my monitor. I, like a lot of people, expected some kind of twist or something.. a giant event or reveal to explain the secrecy, but no, she was just some annoying new character.. lots of suspense building up to the reveal and it was just extremely anti-climatic..

I’d really love to be able to see player/enemy health but I don’t think there is really a problem viewing from outside.. its the inside that is the problem.Again invisible walls can do that. Without messing the camera up too.
What i’m saying is adding an invisible wall here would be lazy design and unimaginative. There has to be some realistic and apparent explanation as to why you can’t do something. Real world experience (“I can’t do that because there is a wall there”) is a part of designing game elements that communicate things to players in an obvious manner. When you see a dome it explains why you can’t cast spells in the arena.

I don’t rez them because I don’t want a competition waiting in the queue, you should blame designers with their bullkitten that you have to teleport to wp instead rez near arena.
Although not very ethical, is a very valid point.
You can’t design something that will make players look at other players as competition and expect all of them to help others get ahead of them.
You know what happens when you don’t res people because you don’t want them in the queue.. you die and then you are there laying on top of them.. really annoying when people do this to me.. if you had ressed me I could have ressed you and we all would live wonderful lives.. waiting a few seconds while I battle isn’t such a big deal.
Roughly 100 attempts with various classes (mesmer, warrior, necro) was just way more comfortable with necro so kept at it and eventually got it.

Used bowl of orrian truffle and meat stew and master tuning crystal. Exotic carrion armor, ascended rabid trinkets.
General strategy is to use staff to keep her chilled and feared. When she is far away you swap to scepter and bop her until you can switch back. If she jumps at you use the dagger to transfer the cripple back to her. Just keeping her at a distance and unable to close was what did it.
The fight has some serious problems:
I don’t know what I think quite yet.. its not a good/fun fight but I definitely feel stoked that I beat it. I wont be doing it again though. It also caused me to mess with my skills and traits which I think was a good thing.
Transmuted Berserker’s Exalted Pants stats with the appearance of Rampager’s Winged Pants. The title remained Rampager’s Winged Pants after transmuting despite the different stats.
The current system is inexplicable. Playing two characters makes stuff take twice as long. Playing three makes WxP practically meaningless. If the idea was to drag it out even more and make it more grindy then why does the 1 character guy completely bypass this problem? Games that reward more frequently tend to have more interested players. The bonuses are pretty weak to start with. 20 levels for 1 extra supply… really.
What about people who play 1 character for a long period of time but start getting bored with the mechanic? It seems less likely they will want to keep themselves interested in the game by switching characters if it means they have to grind wxp all over again.
There is no good reason for this that I can think of. I can’t even put myself in the mindset where someone would think this is a good idea which leaves me really discouraged about future WvW design decisions.
This same thread happens every time they release a new box. We keep discovering repeatedly that the boxes give you nothing for your money. It doesn’t seem that people get the message. There are quite a few threads like this already, you certainly were warned.
The entire game has a pretty low chance non-rewarding RNG system ingrained in it.. I don’t know why you would expect something else or want to pay for that experience in its purest form.
If you want to support ANet there are other things you can buy that will actually give you some value.
If you really want karka shells just buy some gold.
If you really want to waste your money just buy a lotto ticket instead. Think of how many boxes you could buy with $1 million dollars.
Well, what they always say, and its true, is that you chose your dailies. They don’t really make special cases for people who do everything because a lot of people wont go that far.
After winning a game I had a situation where a guy got the fishing poll and then followed me around just constantly pulling me down. He wasn’t concerned with playing at all. I snatched the rod from him at one point and he just broke crates until he got an egg, froze me and got it back and continued with it… wasted the whole match attacking me preventing me from getting more than a few seconds with the crab and then he still got a chest… lots of opportunities for griefing crab toss i suppose.
No matter how cheap they are or how few you buy these things always leave people feeling ripped-off. I wonder how many people are still buying this stuff because I’ve known quite a few to get so frustrated that they outright quit the game over it. To me its not really a matter of gambling. I don’t mind gambling.. but in this case the payout is way too low both in odds and value. It feels like they are squandering good will and trust with horrible RNG.
Do yourselves a favor and stay away from this junk and maybe they will stop trying to sucker you.
