- You can’t reset a mastery bar. Any xp in it saves when you switch to another line.
- A full mastery bar stays full until you spend points to unlock it and move to the next tier. . . . .
Yes, I have already spent points in the Commander (4 tiers done) and Fractals (1 tier complete) lines. I am working on the third tier of “Legendary”, with one point spent and five still needed. I might also want to change to the Fractals line, where I would need just one more point to complete the second tier, but it gives me no option to switch to that line either.
Hovering on the progress bar shows “3,810,000/3,810,000 experience”. It has been that way for at least two weeks. Don’t you think it would be nice to know how much more than that I have done in that time? I play at least an hour a day, often more than 3 hrs. During those two or more weeks I have killed many Champions, completed more than five Map Zones, as well as JPs, dungeons, a fractal and sundry Achievements.
WHY, ArenaNet, WHY does this progress bar not shift back to the left side and start refilling again the way that Every Other Progress Bar Does? In PvP, WvW, and <L80 PvE, (as well as most MMORPGs I kknow of) progress bars slowly fill with the ‘good’ color from left to right, and when the far right end is met, it goes ‘empty’ and starts filling again. Like the opposite of the fuel gauge in a vehicle.
What sense does it make that this progress bar gets stuck at the far right?

There’s an annoying “feature” of the Masteries Progress Bar as compared to the original PvE XP progress bar, or even the PvP progress bar: It does not reset to zero after it has filled. I’m talking about the gold-colored bar at the bottom of the screen for L80 characters working in Central Tyria, not far western Maguuma.
In the past I have worked around this by selecting to a different mastery track – that would then show a partial progress bar indicating how much work was needed to gain another Mastery Point. Now that doesn’t work either. I am in the middle of Tier 3 of Legendary Crafting and I can no longer select a different track to work on, although there are tiers to complete in the Commander and Fractals lines. Not that I want to change; I just want to refresh the progress bar so I can see my relative progress.
Of course, there is that little “32” at the far left of the bar, which will tick up when I have enough XP, but often I feel as though it should have advanced when it has not. What am I overlooking, and how dumb am I going to feel when you tell me?
No magic needed. It’s all Skill, baby!
This fellow’s been studying old documents and developing his own skills to match what he reads. Here he demonstrates that GW2’s Rangers’ abilities are not at all out of the realm of possibility.
I have always enjoyed playing my Ranger, esp. lately. In the back of my mind, though, I sometimes thought, “Nobody could shoot that fast”, etc. Now I can put those thoughts to rest.
I’m very sorry to see in all this advice to an apparently new player there is no mention of your best friend: /wiki
Use that command in-game for anything you are unsure of, and bookmark the page for quick reference at any time.
The info there tells you that the “Legacy Armor” is cosmetic only; it has no stats of its own and cannot be worn as-is out of the box. It must be applied to armor that has stats that you wish to wear.
I wouldn’t expect an exchange to be made by ArenaNet, since you made the choice for the Krytan Chest intentionally; it was not a result of bad behavior by others. Also the Krytan armor is still quite useful to you. I am sure you do have five character slots to use. Why not start up a Ranger, who could have that Legacy armor applied? (A Thief or Engineer could also use krytan armor.)
Hope you have a long, happy time with GW2!

We are very successful in all phases of GW2 except PvP.
For the past week or more I’ve been getting a “serious error” pop-up after I intentionally close the game using the in-game dialog. I’ve also tried Alt-F4 closing and get the same dialog: "A serious error has occurred that prevents the program from continuing to run . . . . .
Details given start out: “—> Crash <—

With an option to send a report to ArenaNet. I’ve sent in a couple of reports but gotten no reply. So now i just close that dialog.
Is anyone else having a similar experience? Any suggestions?

I just got up from a dream (is this unusual, dreaming in-character in the game environment???).
I was in a cave, probably Dostoev Sky Peak. I had some items in my inventory that I activated. When three or four had been added together it started an event that everyone nearby joined in. One was like a world war scenario with spies and inventions and combat. In another several buddies were trying to help Marie Curie in her laboratory and I was blocking enemies while riding a Triceratops. Don’t ask, it was a dream, I told you!
To put that into the real GW2 (probably Living World, maybe something that could run for a few months) players would collect special items (your choice as to how and where) and eventually, when they have a matched set, they could combine them to start a special random event designed for this content. Players might chose to use it as a Guild event, or in WvW it might be used to put up a random challenge against Invaders.
This could bring back features from GW1 like the fauna and events in Nightfall, Tarnished Coast or “Beyond” or to bring back previous Living World features in unexpected ways.
“Underworld” is an EU server. NA players can transfer there, but not ‘guest’.
Please note your region.

Had a similar problem, but I could always see my bag icons on the left.
I had 4 8-slot bags crafted by another Alt. I recently bought a 12-slot invisible bag from BLTC. Out in Queensdale I could not get an empty 8-slot to move to an empty space in my Starter bag. Also, selecting “equip” on the 12-slot did nothing. I was not in combat in any sense, standing in Claypool town.
I mapped over to Hoelbrak, thinking that maybe I had to be in a city to make the swap. Still didn’t work. Closed and reopened Inv. a few times. Finally got it to work.
Lesson: Keep trying in different ways.
I have to express appreciation to all you helpful people for this useful work.
I will gladly go over to any NA server that has a zerg-rush active on the Cathedral of Glorious Victory, esp. with a Commander leading.
