Even when everyone claimed they clicked the “I am ready” button, the match did not commence. It’s difficult to use the /bug system to report this since you are kicked for inactivity faster than you can file the bug report.
I tried a few different matches and all had the same problem and no matches were able to start.

It’s a great site and a wonderful way to get to know more of the TC community. People who post introduction threads there always receive a warm welcome!

While you are downloading, might I suggest you look at the wiki. It’s fantastic and even if you are an MMO vet, reading “game basics” should help you make some decisions about which class and race you may wish to play.

1. Have tried PVP? If not, why?
Yes I’ve tried PvP.
2. Tried it and liked it or not?
I like it when the two teams are relatively balanced and people have enough skill to work together and assist each other rather than when individuals play selfishly.
3. Are active PVP players?
I do my PvP daily for the achievement points and if I find myself in a match with team player types I might stick around for another couple of matches.
4. Done both WvW and PVP: which do you prefer and why?
I prefer WvW because I’m a team player. I enjoy representing my server and the camaraderie that comes from fighting a protracted battle. Also, rewards I receive in WvW can help me in other parts of the game while PvP rewards are for skins which don’t interest me.

If I use the Gift of Quartz on “Character One,” can “Character Two” find a node in their home instance? -> This is the question that I want answered.
Yes. My asura used the Gift of Quartz and my human character can enter the human home instance and find a node.

I like the new AoE circles, much easier for my old eyes to see. Thank you Anet!

Same here; switched maps in WvW and got disconnected.
That’s exactly when I got disconnected too.

So I’m curious ladies; why do you WvW? And if you do, what role do you find yourself in: support, supply, or out on the front lines bashing some heads?
——————
I really enjoy the friendly environment of WvW. I can jump in and play and not worry about hearing from my enemy and having to listen to trash talking. I also like how I can join a map and play for a brief period of time and it’s not hurting my team if I need to leave to do something else.
I’m not always playing the same role in WvW. I’ve played various roles at various times, a lot depends on how much time I have to spend and what my team needs. I’m not afraid to be the crazy one who baits an enemy zerg and see how long I can survive. Come and get me boys!

4. I dislike having people who bought gold try to boss me around.
I feel the same way. Spending 100G does not grant anyone the right to boss people around. That being said, there are a some commanders I will work with and plenty of other folks who don’t display an icon whose lead I will follow more readily than a commander’s.
I wish before someone could become a commander they had to log in a certain number of WvW hours with that character name AND receive approval to lead from enough WvW regulars.

Been lurking on this thread waiting to see if others could download yet. I couldn’t even start the download until AFTER I log into this forum. Now I’ve begun the download, it’s going slowly.
If you aren’t able to get past the first kb of it, try logging in here…it brought me a little luck

Thanks OP for starting this thread! What makes me stick to an MMO?
1. Plenty of fun solo activities even at max level.
2. All grind completely optional. I don’t want to be forced to do dungeons to keep up
with the pack. I don’t want to have to do daily quests that inevitably become stale
after a month or two.
3. A friendly and mature community where it’s not uncommon for the playerbase to
include people of all ages (even senior citizens).

Interesting, I just peeked at the login screen and TC, FA and YB all appear as full servers. Congrats FA and YB for joining us in the full server club!

The difference here is jumping puzzles such as this actually do hamper individuals who want to play the game, but due to disabilities lack the fine motor skills to perform them. Previous jumping puzzles were mostly “optional” and would not hamper an individual’s attempts to advance a character’s equipment. The jumping puzzles in FotM do interfere with those individuals.
I was unaware that there were jumping puzzles in FotM until seeing this thread. I’m one of those individuals who have physical limitations that hinder my ability to perform them. I’ve run across MANY people who play this game in the same boat as me.
I was fortunate that I did not encounter a jumping puzzle in my first run yesterday, so I didn’t let my group down. But knowing there are jumping puzzles I will no longer try this content because I don’t want to slow down others

I’m a 48 year old married woman and I love this game. I never feel bored and one of my characters made it to 80 quite awhile ago. I love how I don’t have to focus on gear to enjoy PvP in either sPvP or WvW. Finally a game for how I like to approach online games.

[TC] P.O. Box TV Seeks :
Quiet, sincere, gentleman, well rounded and mature.
Fond of music and the arts, loves the [WvWvW] theater.
Educated, sensitive, a trav’ler of the world.
Wants to meet eligible [sPvP’ers].
OK, you’re not currently on Tarnished Coast, but with an ad like that you ought to be!
Come on and live dangerously and spice up your WvW on the unofficial North American RP server. We’re in the third bracket two weeks in a row, so we’re better at PvP than one would expect from a roleplay server.

I have also had issues with being unable to fire the trebuchet. Then I became stuck and could not even leave the trebuchet so my only way was to go to Heart of the Mists to leave. I returned to the instance and this time at the trebuchet part, I couldn’t even use it at all and then I crashed.
Just to clarify, I became stuck at the central trebuchet. The left trebuchet works fine. Perhaps as a bug fix, the central trebuchet could be completely disabled?
