meh … just throw this out too… probably lost (bashed, ignored…) somewhere else on the forum.

Change to trait line:
Zeal trait line stats = power & condition damage
Radiance trait lines = precision & critical damage
Valor trait line = toughness & condition duration

Thinking as to why.
1) If I am going power why not give a boost to condition I use to DPS (burn).
2) If I am running precision, well…
3) If I am going toughness then my burns may get at least 1 more tick to help with DPS.

Would love to see Guards healing signet recharge balanced (read equal to) a Warriors healing signet recharge. Why not; a warrior has higher health pool and their sig gives regeneration on short timer to sustain that. Guardian would benefit form the signet recharge equality given the smaller base health pool.

Healing skills across all classes I believed where suppose to be equal but nuanced towards the profession. So why the chasm on recharge time?

Shelter the block is nice but needs to scale higher with healing power and healing breeze is … well maybe if breeze was decent non-channeled swirling radius AoE (a healing whirlwind ??) similar to a Rangers healing spring I might use it.

Why an activation time on a shout?

Of the professions that have a shout skill, “Guard” is the only shout with an activation time (a long one), and to make it even more awkward add in targeting. Then add that it can’t be used underwater (well ok any shout underwater is weird…. but still).
It would be nice if they would remove the activation time at least and better if they also allowed underwater use, same as all other shouts in the game.

Thank you Faux and everyone for the information you’ve shared. I have a question about the choice of runes in this build.
Why not rune of Water?
Just curious, but 5% chance to trigger regeneration seems very small and random why not a use it for water’s condition removal? Troll Unguent has a built in regeneration wouldn’t water give you a small spike at the front for a quick spike in addition to the regeneration? You would gain 25% duration (15% water+ 33% trait+ 10% trait line) on all buffs (including regeneration)? Compared with Dawanya you would only lose only 5% duration from regeneration specific; so 58% all buffs with Water compared to 63% for regeneration only.
Just a thought but perhaps with duel melee weapons Dawanya would be a better choice and Water with a bow user?

That’s an insane amount of coding and basically a complete rework of the ranger class. It’s a good idea but like you said, it will never happen.

It wouldn’t be as much doom and gloom coding compared to the perpetual patch/fix cycle that will happen with months waiting and Rangers QQ’ing.

As far as skill like shouts they could change them to temporarily manifest the pet (like a Guardian’s Spirit weapon) to do what they currently do and then return to the spirit world.
The F2 would still be the unique pet attack just represented by a ghost pet materializing and conducting it and vanishing after.
The type of pet you have would buff your stats to help fold the lost DPS into the actual ranger.
Pets would be more associated with certain weapon sets and give a spirit manifestation/buff to certain attacks much like the current animations with greatsword attacks like Maul, just more of them.
It’s a solid idea the OP has and within the realm of reason to do. Hell the lost shore event would have required more time and coding than this idea would.

Best suggestion I have seen yet. Stays true to the professions persona and is more stylish than just a minion type pet which Ranger types in every game seem to be type cast. This would be a very nice, refreshing and welcome (by me at least) change if it were ever implemented.
