I sent in a ticket about this issue on the 25th of Februrary, and I’ve yet to recieve a response. I’ve seen a few posts saying after 72 hours you should post here, so here I am. The ticket ID is 398207.
Basically, I can’t log into my Guardian, as it was last logged out in the Crown Pavilion. I get an instant CTD upon logging in, and everything I’ve tried has failed to fix the issue. I really wanna finish leveling it before the LA event ends, which is why I’m a tad bit impatient.
I get that the ticket system is busy, but I haven’t gotten anything more than an automated response in the past 5 days, and all that said was they received my ticket ;(.
Hi,
I haven’t played in 5+ months, and the last time I logged out of my Guardian, it was in the Crown Pavilion. Now, whenever I try and log into it, I get a loading screen for CP, then it switches to Divinities Reach, then swaps back to CP, then crashes.
Is there any way to fix this? I sent in a support ticket two days ago, but I haven’t gotten a response back, and I wanna play my Guardian again ;D.
Most of uXa (blackgate)has been breaking for the last few days
Due to it being such a large lead .. Farming a defeated team just brings us down..
We have been stocking up siege and preparing for our hard week we will have ahead of us!
Thanx too the other servers for your good sportsmanship and i commend you for sticking around on a losing server!Losing server? What are you talking about? The overall score is just a representation of who has the higher population and more active people through the entire day/night. It has absolutely nothing to do with “losing” anything. When I’m on with my guild, we end up taking our borderland back and drive blackgate back to their spawn. Thats a “win”. I don’t care what happens when I’m not playing, because that’s not me winning or losing, thats just some other people playing a video game.
I assume the alternative of “sticking around on a losing server” would mean transfer? Sorta like most of blackgate? I guess through the transitive property, that means blackgate is just a server full of ex-loser server transfers?
Please just save your snarky pity comments. Saying your guild cant bother to play because you “farm a defeated team” is a load of bull. You guys have HUGE queue times because you have a HUGE population, simple as that. In even fights we do just fine against you guys. Thanks for commending our sportsmanship, and try to show some yourself by not leaving condescending comments like this.
Here is how it looks when we are on during our primtime every day this week:
http://imgur.com/VmwAH
http://imgur.com/Hma6bAs you can see, we just don’t have the population to cover all the borderlands and eternal. So we focus on destroying blackgates mindless zerg in our own borderland. We are very far from being a “losing server”.
+1
It’s really funny how BG members are so full of themselves. It’s also sad how I’d be willing to bet that a large percentage of their population is actually pretty nice, and we’re just seeing all of the arrogant people coming on here and posting.
To the guy you quoted: LOL. I’m surprised that you’re commending us on our good sportsmanship, whilst showing none yourself. I’d be willing to bet that you ended up transferring over to BG at some point, coming from one of the “losing servers”. So, thanks for the shoutout, I’m also pretty proud of myself, along with my fellow FA and TC members for not switching servers once the going gets tough. WvW is broken to hell because of the server transfers, so kudos to people that realize it and are sticking with their server until transfers cost gems, in order to create more even matches in the future!
I’m sure Metalripper.5406 would still be on the battlefield if his team were losing like TC and FA, so cut him some slack…
Why? He doesn’t deserve slack coming in here with that attitude. We’ve been fighting our kitten off all week on TC, doing the best we can in a bad situation. Then we have people like this posting. You expect us to be friendly?
They deleted his post =(. But yeah this, it’s sooo funny how kids flock to one server to crush the other two, then have the audacity to come on here and say that we’re the ones who are pathetic, and say that they pity us. It’s laughable.
To the people from Blackgate who have kept it respectful, I thank you. I’m sticking by my first post in this thread however, I sincerely hope that BG gets bumped up to top tier, and that we never ever EVER have to fight them again. It’s sad that you guys can destroy us this badly, then some of your members (not all, just the leechers) come on here and put salt in the wound. TC and FA have done a good job against impossible odds this week, and for that they should be applauded. However, I’ve gone a week without WvW, and I’m dying for a good matchup. It would be fun to see TC vs FA vs SoS, that would be an amazingly even match, and a hell of a lot of fun XD.
But anyways, to Blackgate, I wish you guys luck in the future. I said it in the last thread when we went up against you, and I’ll say it again now. I hope that we never have to fight you guys ever again.
To my fellow FA members, the new rotation is tomorrow, so it’s time to put our game faces on. We’re going to take a pretty large ranking hit after this week, so hopefully we’ll be put in a more even match for this next week. I’d love to see another SoS vs FA style match up like last week, it was down to the wire all week.
Daily bump. I’ll be logging in soon, and should be online for a few hours, so feel free to contact me if you’re interested!
signs
Week long matches suck. The battle is pretty much decided within the first 3-4 days, and after that, people stop playing so one server dominates, or people transfer over.
Bump! Still recruiting
I’m Haker, also known as Aroha In-Game. I’m currently a General in the guild, and helping out with recruitment. Just wanted to get some info about me out, and some more info on the guild, so that people get a better idea of the Guild Leaders and our current goals for the guild.
*Main Profession and Level: Mesmer – 73 (should be 80 in a week or so, working on alts)
*Typical Build/Play Style: DPS (Built for Condition on my Mesmer, usually build Power on alts. Wouldn’t mind going support if the situation demanded it)
*Time Zone: GMT -5:00
*Average Hours Played per Day: Depends on the day. If I’m not busy, I can go 10 straight. I usually do at least 3 though.
*WvW Experience: I’ve played WvW for maybe 20 hours out of my 190 total. I’ve gotten multiple levels on multiple characters, and I’m pretty familiar with how it works. I’m most familiar with the Eternal Battlegrounds, as that’s where I spend most of my time. I’m also pretty familiar with good ways to take points, good ways to properly defend certain areas, and strategies on Zerg fighting. I’m not experienced enough for a Commander title, but I could lead a small group to ward off enemies, help hold off an attack until reinforcements arrive, etc.
Our primary focus as a guild is to unite the people of Fort Aspenwood together, so that we can show the other servers that we have what it takes to join the top tiers of WvW. We’re tired of getting steamrolled. We know that our members are capable of greatness, they’ve shown it in the past. We have amazing commanders. We have amazing PvPers. We have what it takes to be number one. The only thing that we’re missing is organization. The reason that we aren’t on top is because we lack the proper leadership to get us there. We don’t need hundreds of players in a zerg to win. We could do it with 20 players and an amazing commander. That’s what we’re aiming for.
We don’t care what guild you’re in. We don’t care how much experience you have with WvW. All we care about is getting as many people together, and learning WvW, so that we can one day reign supreme. We’re not claiming to be the best of the best, but with the proper amount of teamwork and leadership, we can and will work up to be the best there is.
We were just created today, so we don’t have any upgrades, but we’re working on it as fast as possible. We’re accepting all recruits, you can either post here, send a mail/whisper to Ochenaid.1049 or Haker.5067, or chat with us or any other guild members you see in-game. It’s going to take some time to build up, but we have faith in the people of Fort Aspenwood, we can and we will dominate in WvW, all we need is people who are willing to join us.
Brilliant. We really only got a week apart from Blackgate? That’s a bunch of horse kitties T_T.
Looking forward to getting stomped again. I’m probably sitting this rotation out as well, the last rotation against them was a pure joke.
I wish we could have another rotation like us vs SoS vs Mag, that was a kitten good one. Everyone held their own for most of it, there were times where SoS or FA (my server) would do a total take over, but the other servers always made a comeback. It was a lot of fun, and the best WvW rotation I’ve been a part of so far.
I do hope that this doesn’t turn out like our last encounter with Blackgate though. Hopefully they’ll make server transfers cost gems now, so everyone doesn’t flock over there.
@Haker
I don’t get it. It makes sense for HoD to get tons of people because it is #1. Blackgate was not #1 and was also not #1 in the match. We didn’t even ask those EU servers to come so please think before you post such nonsense. It makes no sense for people to transfer to a server that was in second, and in the 3rd bracket. Dragonbrand is starting to look like the second server in the QQ category. Which is what I am guessing you are from. Simply put. We got people to fill the hours most of our afternoon zerg could not fill. You know. Like ArenaNet said we should! You lost get over it. Get better, and use some common sense.
EDIT: Oh and about it being “neck and neck” You guys were nightcapping us to hell and back. As I recall the day before we had the people transfer you owned 95% of the map yourself when I woke up the next morning. So now we have people on at those times and you are complaining about it?
I’m from Fort Aspenwood actually.
We never had any shot of winning. There’s no way we were going to overtake DB from the way things were heading, and I really couldn’t care less about that. The time I spent in WvW was a lot of fun, because as I said, it was evenly matched.
And don’t think before I post nonsense? What about you? You’re telling US (FA and DB) to “get better” at WvW, when the ONLY reason you’re winning is because of sheer force? There’s no skill at ALL in what you’re doing. 100 v 10 isn’t skill, it’s imbalanced and unfair. And I don’t care about losing at all, in fact, I would much rather lose to an evenly matched server then get steamrolled by a crap server with a massive amount of people who transferred over just to win. And to be honest, you should be embarrassed that you’re even defending this.
WvW is supposed to be balanced, three equally matched servers going head to head in a battle royal. People shouldn’t be allowed to jump ship to form one massive zerg server, I have no idea why Anet is even allowing this. I wouldn’t have posted what I did had you guys beat us in a fair fight, I would be applauding your superior skills in PvP. Instead, the only thing to “applaud” is the fact that you guys got lucky and got picked as the “go-to” server for all the losers who care more about winning then fair fights.
I do get that you didn’t ask for everyone to transfer over, however, you are choosing to defend yourself by saying you’re the superior server, saying you’re more skillful and better at WvW then both DB and FA. That’s laughable. If I was in your shoes, I wouldn’t be celebrating. I do enjoy winning, I’m not going to lie and say I don’t. But I enjoy fair fights more. I was really looking forward to this rotation since day one, considering the exact same thing happened to us in the last one (we got shut out by server transfers, and lost by a massive margin). And for the first few days, it was a lot of fun, as I already said.
I feel like any further arguing would be pointless. You’re too blinded by your “victory” to take anything I have to say to heart. You’re probably going to see this, and laugh it off as me just QQing because we lost. So, I’ll say it again, I honestly don’t care that we lost. It doesn’t affect me at all, I play WvW for the fun of it. I don’t expect to come out on top, I don’t expect to kill everyone I meet, and I don’t expect to be of much use to my server. In fact, the only thing I do expect is to waste a lot of silver on armor repairs. And tbh, I’m glad that the rotation is almost at an end. Hopefully the next one will be just as much fun as this one was during the first few days, only it will last the entire week. And hopefully people stop being losers and just find a server to call home. If things continue as they are now, WvW is going to die, that’s a fact.
“Lucardes.3725
Blackgate welcomes you guys. The more forces we get the better. It’s time to move backup to Bracket 2 and soon Bracket 1 where Blackgate used to be!
Mark my word Blackgate is the hero that returns to first place overall sooner or later. Very good strong community of pvpers/force"
Blackgate is full of people who flocked from other servers just to beast the other two servers, there’s nothing honorable or skillful about that. If getting a bunch of people to transfer over because they don’t like losing and would rather win by a landslide then have a good clean and fair fight for the duration of the rotation is all you need to make top bracket, then they really should redo the entire system.
It’s asinine how at the beginning of the rotation, and for the first few days, the fights were evenly matched. FA, DB and BG were all neck and neck with eachother, Dragonbrand took an early lead, but we were both not that far behind. And it was a lot of fun. Then all of a sudden, Blackgate completely overwhelmed the other two servers. Apparently three massive guilds from EU servers, and a bunch of other losers transfered over to shift the balance of power. Now, Blackgate owns well over 95% of all four maps, and if you go in WvW, you’re going to meet a group of about 10 BG members, compared to your group of 2-5, because no one from your server wants to play. So, congrats on your “win”, and I hope you do move up a bracket, becuase I honestly do not ever want to play against your server again.
And, this stupid server transfer crap is sooooo imbalanced, it completely destroys the balance of WvW. They need limitations on server transfering. Make it cost 800 gems per transfer, and limit it to once per rotation. Or, make it so that if you transfer, you can’t participate in WvW until the next rotation. It’s not that difficult to do either, and both would drastically improve the quality and fun of WvW, because atm, it’s only fun for the first two days or so, and then the balance of power shifts drastically because everyone hates losing.
So… did it work when you remade your guild?
Our guild had the permission issue too, but we remade it yesterday and the new one had all the permissions. Kinda sucks cause we lost 5k influence, but w/e.
The focus one. I just love how it attacks, it look so ridiculous, but it’s amazing at the same time (and it’s damage is pretty nice as well =D).
WvW is definitely flawed atm. I play Fort Aspenwood, and we’re currently ranked 2nd, under the Isle of Janthir (or something), who are wiping the floor with us so hard it’s not even funny. They literally own 100% of the Battlegrounds, 50% of our Borderlands, and most of the other two maps (at least they did yesterday, haven’t checked today).
The problem here is the fact that people can hop servers free of charge. Even if it’s on a one day cooldown, how does that help to balance WvW at all? It doesn’t. Last rotation, we were in first, owning most of the map, all of the orbs, etc. New rotation hits, we start losing by a small margin, most of our WvWers hop servers so they can win, and we end up getting destroyed.
The server hop system is extremely flawed, people should not be able to hop over to the winning server whenever they want, and there be no side effects. This creates a massively imbalanced WvW scene, and it’s not fun at all. Some people will see this and say, “Well quit crying and hop if you want to win”, but there’s two things with this. 1) I have a guild and friends I play with on a daily basis, I’m not going to hop servers just to roflstomp my HOME server, and 2) One server having way more people and dominating the entire WvW game isn’t fun at all. There’s no fights, no resistance, no fun. I get that people love to win, I do too. But it isn’t fun completely shutting the other teams out, because then they lose interest in the game, and stop playing. When I play WvW, I want to fight massive amounts of people, defending key places, taking over places from other servers, etc etc. I don’t want to be trapped in my home base (or whatever the place is called), and I can’t even walk out without getting piled by 20 people. And fighting back isn’t even an option, most of our server isn’t even playing because of the massive player imbalance.
That’s enough complaining for now, time for my suggestion:
I suggest 3-4D WvW rotations, no more of this week long stuff (and god forbid two weeks, I can’t even imagine). I also suggest that anyone who server hops is locked out of WvW for the duration of that rotation, and if anyone hops on the last day of the current rotation, they are locked out all the same. This will prevent player imbalance in WvW, as people won’t be able to bail ship and join the winning team, and after a few rotations, the teams will be more balances, as people start finding homes instead of being roamers.
I don’t think player limitations should be put on the WvW games, that’ll only make things worse. Limiting the server hopping will help tremendously with balancing WvW, I can’t believe that they haven’t thought of people hopping to the winning servers, and have done nothing to prevent it already.
Condition build Mesmer are awesome. I was a bit turned off from the class after playing one for a bit, but a friend showed me this vid and I’m maining one now lol.
The idea of a condition build Mesmer is also pretty interesting imo. I was going to just build power like I do for every other class I play, and I was kind of bummed, because I wanted something different. After watching this vid, and learning that condition builds are actually really strong (I was also joking with my friend about making a condition build Mesmer, because I was under the impression they had no good condition spells), and playing as one for 12 levels, it really is an amazing build, and it’s a lot of fun to play as. Obviously I’m not getting the full benefits of a full condition build yet, as I’m only level 12 and don’t have any good armor/accessories/rings/runes yet, but I’m actually doing really good in PvE, a lot better then my Ele ever did.
Has there been any news about the no permissions for Leader yet? I’ve been keeping an eye on this section, as well as their FB and stuff, and I haven’t seen anything.
Our guild has been like this for about a week now, and we really don’t want to have to remake it (6g invested in influence, and since we started playing about two weeks ago, 6g is a lot lol). Some news at all, even if you’re looking into it, would be amazing.
30 people standing on top of one another, spamming AOEs at the spot where the centaurs will pop at the NW broken Kessex Hills Bridge means that anyone coming by wanting to play that DE will have a tough time tagging enough mobs before they’re dead to get gold medal credit or even a reasonable number of drops.
Personally, I think this kind of stuff shouldn’t be allowed. I have no problem with a massive amount of people going from event to event, “farming” it for exp or gold, but standing AFK and AOEing on a spot for hours, probably using a bot to do so, shouldn’t be allowed. Like you said, it ruins the game for others who wish to participate in the event, and in the end, it’ll most likely make them just give in and join with the afkers. It gives that “Well, they’re doing it, so I might as well too” kind of mindset.
I ran my first ever dungeon with me ele yesterday, CM Story, and good god am I turned off from ever doing a dungeon run again. People argue that you have to choose between DPS or Survivability for the class, but that isn’t the case. I’m built for DPS, but I do terrible damage compared to everyone else around me, and whenever I get targeted by any mob, it’s instadeath unless I can run away and pray that it switches targets.
Ele does need a serious buff. I wouldn’t mind crap HP and defense if we got the DPS to back it up, but the fact of the matter is we don’t. Everyone on this forum says “Ele has it’s strong points, you just need to learn to play the class”, or “Complaining? You’re obviously terrible at playing ele, go play Warrior”, but that’s the thing. We shouldn’t have to swap to a new character to get a better experience playing, we should be able to play the class we love to play in order to have fun. I have a lot of fun playing my ele, there’s no doubt about that, but I’m getting tired of spending 1-2 minutes fighting one or two things, just to see ANY other class run up to the same type of mob and down it in 10 seconds, it’s ridiculous.
Now, before everyone starts bashing me for being bad at the class, I’m not. I’m admittedly bad at PvP, but I’m not talking about Ele’s role in PvP in this post (ele’s are actually pretty decent in WvW, but that’s because you have 50 other people all killing the same target lol). I’m actually pretty good at PvE. I’ve learned a lot in my 60 hours and 47 levels as an Elementalist, and I’ve progressed a long way with the class. I don’t die nearly as much as I used to, I’ve learned to utilize all four elements instead of relying only on Fire to kill stuff, etc etc. But the fact is, anyone who plays this class should be able to see that it needs to be reworked in some way. We have no survivability, terrible dps, some of our skills are terrible (stupid long cooldowns, extremely long casting time for low DPS output, etc), and overall we’re just not that good a class. No one is going to say “Hey, we need an ele so they can die 1000000x times and we can wipe trying to res them”. Ele needs change.
Lasarith said: “logging off, Changeing zones and dying (downed dosent count) will reset it :|”
My counter resets every time I get downed (without dying). I was at about 55k xp when I got downed during an event (without dying), and the xp counter reset.
I tried doing the level 47 Priory Quest “Evacuation” today, and both times I tried it, the quest bugged out half way through. At the part where you’re supposed to defend against the enemies, the first wave will spawn, but once you defeat it, nothing happens. The bar showing progress stops at about 75% complete, and nothing else spawns or happens. I ran all around looking for stuff to do, things to kill, people to talk to, but there’s nothing. I took a few screenies:
