And can ANet please stop trying to shove doing Fractles down our gullets. 2 Fractles for the PvE Dailies on 01/25/2015.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
The dailies were never particularly challenging. They were always trivial, and far more grindy than they are now. If anything, they just took the grind out of it.
It used to be you’d get the daily done after doing a few rounds of what you normally do.
Kill Tequatl = daily done.
Do 1-2 dungeons = daily done.
Do 3-5 rounds of PvP = daily done.
Spend 30-60 min in WvW = daily done.
Champ train for 15-30 mins = daily done.For most players this wasn’t grindy, because those activities were a part of their normal routine. When you waypointed to Splintered Coast you were going to accomplish something (kill a big dragon).
Now you’re waypointing to a level 1 area to gather carrots, and I presume they are not used to power the Vigil Megalaser.
I am sure it was like that for some but Underwater kills, kill variety, laurel vendor visiting, event mentoring, reviving, and others were all things I stopped doing what I wanted in order to complete.
Underwater kills, yeah I rarely got the done. But Kill variety, event mentoring, reviving were things that I would get done through normal game play. Laurel Vendor was usually a bonus for exp at the end of the day, while I was salvaging another bonus exp if it was up for the 10. Since I was in town banking and selling.
Most of the stuff that they had up for the dailies could be done just by going out doing your normal activities.
And now even though it’s only 3 of 4 in PvE, you have to go do certain things, in an area of their choosing. It’s not where you want to be at, be it if you are leveling up, or out farming mats, like it was before.

Anyone know what achievements are available today for players with characters only under level 10?
~~~
The number of available achievements per day is based on the highest-level character on an account:
Levels 1 – 10: 1 achievement per category
Levels 11 – 30: 3 achievements per category
Levels 31 – 80: 4 achievements per categoryIs it pegged to your level or is it any random achievement on the list? People were saying you wouldn’t have to go to the Silverwastes at lvl1.
Doubt they would do that, but you never know.
But do you really think that someone with a level 31-75 could really get the 3 need from PvE only? I mean you have to run Fractles 11-20 or Silverwastes.
I said it before I’ll say it again, prior to this fiasco you could do the PvE tasks at any level.
Now you can’t.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
Nice nitpicking 1 line out of a post, now how about refuting the rest of it.
Oh, that’s right, you go after the part of what I was personally using the dailies for.Now refute the choices given for PvE for today, that anyone at any level could complete them, like they could prior to this fiasco.
Did you not read my own post in this thread just a few posts above yours?
I addressed the one concern of yours that should not be a concern.
As far as the rest, I feel like you’re picking a fight with the wrong person right now.
The troll post that I reported. I sure did, next time don’t troll the forums and stay on topic.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
I personally was using the dailies for my alts exp.
Assuming you did all 8 non-WvW/PvP dailies on your alt you’d have gotten 40% of a level (5% of a level per daily completion). Over 28 days that would be 11.2 levels with you doing every single PvE daily.
Now logging in every day for 28 days gets you 10 levels worth of tomes. I suspect you can pick even more tomes with the 28th day bonus.
I have my issues with this change, but experience for your alts should be the least of your worries.
And I have stated a couple of times already. I personally was using the dailies for my alts exp.
And now you have two of them, Fractles & Silver Wastes, that would need a level 80 to do. When previously, it didn’t matter what level you were at, you could complete the dailies.
Yes, yes, I could log on to one of my level 80’s to get either of those. But how about new players that do not have a level 80 yet, and they don’t like going to WvW to get slaughtered. Have you thought about them?
And please do not even go there with the sPvP & WvW. I’m one of those people that absolutely detests PvP.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
I dont get it. It seems like dailies are EASIER than before. Log in for 5 seconds, get a laurel, and log out. I doubt anyone got their dailies done in less time than that with the old system.
The new “dailies” is a completely different system with new rewards people weren’t getting before, so why should you be entitled to get more stuff with 0 effort?
I guess the new stuff being called dailies while the old dailies are now called log in rewards was too confusing to some people. This game really must have been too confusing before the NPE after all.
They really ought to explain it better in the patch notes if its so confusing, but i guess it will just take a few days for some people to get it.
I get it already, it sucks. You can explain as much as you want, but sometimes if something sucks, it just sucks. Less options with Anet trying to force people into other areas of the game. No matter how much you try, some people just do not want to try PvP or WvW or PvE. Make it more enticing for those that might be interested in ways like adding MORE choices, not taking choices away in the area they might like.
Keep up the good fight Lyssan, I agree with you. But ANet will ignore this like everything else that people didn’t like or ask for. And I made a new sig for the occasion.
So close to hitting uninstall and walking away.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
I guess you missed where I posted that I was doing the dailies for the exp on my alts, you know, not level 80 yet. Due to the NPE grind. And that I absolutely detest PvP. And prior to this fiasco, it didn’t matter what level you character was at, you could complete the PvE dailies.
Isn’t the exp gained from dailies more or less negligible? Login rewards give 10 free levels via Tomes of Knowledge on the 27th login. Not a bad trade-off, imo.
No it’s a terrible trade off, considering in that months time, you could have earned more than the 10 levels of exp. Because you still got the exp boosts from doing dailes even after you got the daily achievement. And now take today’s PvE Dailies, you need a level 80 to do 2 of them, you got a low level, too bad. And for brand new player that don’t have a lvl 80, they are kitten out of luck.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
I definitely agree that the choices feel restrictive, hopefully they tweak them a bit for future dailies. Overall I think players will be satisfied, as this change is exactly what a lot of us asked for.
I sure as kitten didn’t ask for this change. And I was too busy playing the game to lurk on the forums everyday to even see if they asked us. Because I would have been thoroughly against this change.
I think some of you are missing the forest for the trees, so to speak. At worst, if one absolutely does not want to complete the dailies, they’ll lose out on 10 AP. Not a big whoop either way.
On the other hand, we’re getting loads of amazing stuff just for showing up!
Seriously, you just log in and collect stuff. How are you guys not psyched about this?
You now receive tome of knowledge for simply logging in. Far better than trying to level up using dailies. Just saying.
Really, really …./sigh. You know what I got for logging in today?
Two coins, because I was playing after 4pm yesterday doing my dailies, crafting, and various other things.
Well just saw the new Dailies for my self. Well there goes how I was working exp for my alts. And for the record, I would only do the dailies on my alts since it cuts down on the grind to get them to lvl 80.
But are you kitten kidding me. I gotta break out my level 80’s to complete the dailies. And before the fanbois jump in, I detest, absolutely detest PvP. What I liked about how the dailies were set up prior to this fiasco, is that I could do all my dailies on any of my characters in PvE, regardless of their level.
And by looking at the forums, ANet could care less. Just like with their Traits fiasco, NPE Story chop job. They will now ignore this as well.
Great job, I personally am one step closer to hitting uninstall and walking away.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
My Engineer covers up nicely.
And my Ranger gives just the right amount of sex appeal,
with the functionality of leather armor.
It all a matter of prospective, and the look you want is out there.
And with the up coming wardrobe system, it should/will be a lot
easier you find that look you want.
Here is my 80 Engineer, 80 Warrior, 80 Ranger, & 80 Mesmer.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
I had a good amount of fun with it on my characters today.
Glad you were having fun with it.
And I thought is was funny at first too.
Then it started giving me a headache after an hour, and the fun of it was over.
Thought I was fine when I logged in today and they were not showing up.
Then I went in to do my PS, nope they came back. sigh
Now I can’t wait for this kitten day to be over, so the game can go back to normal.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
And we don’t actually know if the guild was deleted by ANet at this point. For all we know the guild creator took the loot disbanded the guild, got hacked and they took everything and disbanded the guild. Or my favorite that happened to a guild on my server. Their little brother got on the account, and kicked everyone out of the guild.
Point is we really don’t know, and won’t know until ANet says something here, and they most likely won’t.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
How do you get a headache from looking at a big head? lol, just wait a day if it bothers you that much. Kind of ruins the spirit of the holiday if people can just opt out of a prank.
but anyways, you could try setting your computer’s date forward to april 2nd. Or back to March whatever. It seems to be client side.
I THINK some people have a type of Coulrophobia(for the lack of a name for it).
Coulrophobia is a fear of clowns and mimes, and other individuals whose identity and intentions are obscured by things like makeup. What does that have to do with bobbleheads?
You said it right here(out of context), “and other individuals whose identity and intentions are obscured by things like makeup.”. In a sense the bobbleheads are an obscured representation of its true self. Go figure.
Give it a rest. Everyone knows you’re just being a Fanboi.
And that aside. There are people like myself that are getting headaches from it, be cause there is too much motion going on from what you are normally used to in the game. And my eyes are trying to process every little new motion, and it’s causing a massive headache.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
/shrug. Never said it gave me a head-ache. As stated, we all thought it was quite hilarious. In fact, we were in the middle of WvW when it happened. Thanks for the replies, folks. Setting it ahead to April 2 worked like a charm.
Also, just to not make Jabberwock erupt in righteous “you’re a stupid” fury, I made sure to set it back to Apr 1.
I said it gave me a headache. Too much motion going on with all the bobbleheads, and me eyes naturally reacting to said movements, equals me getting a headache.
And I won’t move my computer ahead or behind on the dates. Because of some other programs I use, work related, that need to have the correct times on them for me to get paid.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
Guilds can not be renamed, unlike characters. And someone in ANet agreed that it was offensive. So bye bye guild. This has happened to several guilds in the past, so take head when making your guild name & tag.
And only the guild leader would know why, since you are not them. You’ll never know the truth. Heck the leader could have decided to disband the guild and take all the loot. And you’d never know the truth, unless ANet says otherwise. But they are not likely to say.
I agree with the OP. It was funny at first. Then after an hour of game play, it started to give me a headache. So I logged out.
Should have been an opt out available, even if it was by a gold sink potion to make things normal.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
I’m looking for a casual guild with mature people. Mature as in the chat is not filled with toilet humor etc. People that I can hang with, run dungeons with. I’m even willing to transfer servers for the right guild, but I’m currently on Crystal Desert.
I play mainly 3 days a week when I’m off from work Sun to Tues, between 9am and 8pm PST. (breaks in between when needed, lol)
I have 4 level 80’s Ranger, Guardian, Warrior, & Mesmer. Working on a Thief right now. And here’s the shocker, I have only run Arah Story mode and 2 paths in CoF. Haven’t run any fractals, or WvWvW.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
I am also having issues trying to buy gems. The confirm button is greyed out. And there is nothing noting my purchase even though I selected an amount.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
Transferred over to Eldon Terrace just because I saw your posting about your guild.
I’ve been playing the game for a bit, have a lvl 80 Warrior, lvl 80 Ranger and a lvl 46 Guardian. Have not found a guild I wanted to be in because I’m such a casual player.
I have next to zero Dungeon Experience in this game. I’ve only ran Arah 1 time, that’s it. And Fractles never stepped foot into one.
Hope to hear from you.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
Gaile,
Just for the record, I can not agree when you say: “Some people were accidentally sent a second chest. That does not impact you and that should not cause you distress.”
Who is buying the percursors from the TP? And with what gold? When you have a system that mixes in-game gold with gems bought with real money in my opinion you can not say it does not impact us.
Best regards,
Red
That’s what I’m worried about as well Red. They market is going to get (getting) yet another flood of precursors, and skewing the prices. While it may make the precursors less expensive for a bit. The lower items will come up in cost like last time, because of a flood of new gold to be had.
ANet 2014 – Play how we tell you to play.
Gaile, could you please let us know the reasoning behind the criteria for the second wave of distribution? I really appreciate the amount of feedback you are giving, and I am concerned by the continued use of “those who qualified”. Those of us who really wanted to participate in the event and couldn’t are also feeling very put out by being put so far behind the curve, and it would be nice to know that ANet is at least considering those of us in other timezones, and with other commitments. Especially when most of us put so much effort into the first two stages. I’m sure you are more aware than I am of the amount of community division this is causing.
Thank you again for the feedback though, and again to ANet for at least trying to sort this out.
Gail basically said forget about everyone getting chest.
Which in my mind means, they could care less about the people in other time zones, or with real life commitments. (Like me I was working a 12 hour shift that day.) Since you could not be there at the time ANet wants you to, you are out of luck. Don’t care about you.
Everything about the whole Lost Shores Event was poorly planned and executed. And their so call fix for the chest fiasco, also poorly planned and executed.
I’m not getting a chest, don’t deserve a chest, since I wasn’t there at their beck and call for the final event. But I also think it’s not right to leave the extra chests, and items from them, in the game messing up the game economy even more with the new wave of precursors that will now be on the market.
