Good fights all, had a lot of fun on JQ BL earlier this afternoon.

Have to toss this in here. Thread of the year, awesome guys/ladies. I really LOL’ed at this thread. And I enjoyed all of your imagination in this thread, hope to see more from all of you in the coming months, on future “infractions”, against us the members of Tyria.

I was able to attend the “one time event”. The Mad King showed, so I didn’t get the “glitch”.

That being said, I agree. One time events, discourage me from attempting to make the next one. My real life is more important than the game. And only by “chance”, was I able to make it. I know if they continue with type of issue. I will miss out on future ones. Their is no guesswork around it.

I noticed one dev, say their peak time was on Sunday. Well in my household it is not. We go to church. (Not saying everyone does). But I also had 4 guildies, that could not attend due to “work”.

These type of things come first. “Especially work”. If your looking to keep the ones, that are buying gems.

You know, the ones that are putting money into the game.

Then you need to re-work the way you do these “events”. Because even stateside, it isn’t a good thing.

And anyone who had to get up, that early in the morning, on the other side of the globe, had issues, if they “worked”, or had to go to “school”, the next morning. Bad timing.

I agree with the suggestion, that as soon as a player loads into “insert one time event place” area. It plays for them.

Just a thought. I read the OP full post & second. I believe a Mod. Needs to add into the “post title”. Spoilers. I have recently just beat the game, on my first toon. Their is plenty of spoilers in this topic.

That being said. I agree with some/but not all of the OP topic. But playing GW 1, since beta. I know the story is not complete, with everything they “added in to the sotry/left off at certain points”. In the first game.

To keep the masses coming back for new content. They had to leave little things left “unexplained”, or confusing. So that when the next part of the story comes out. You can extend on it. It is no different than a author who is making a story, that is for a Trilogy. You have to leave certain things out their, that makes the reader, question. Ok why is this? Ect. It’s to keep the story going. That’s all I have to say about the topic.

Just so everyone knows. I was looking for a title, not for the money wise. Just wanting to know, how many colors, are available. I would be 100% happy. If they added in, only.

When you go to your hero color chart. Uncommon…. 50/100….Rare….20/200….ect.
It’s a pure, how many are their type of thing. I like the idea of a title. But only if it isn’t “all”. That way it doesn’t turn into a “money racket”. And that way, everyone can get it. I’m not rich in the game. I wouldn’t want it to turn into a title….only the rich can afford.

More of a title, that anyone can get. And give the rest of us , curious. How many their are….. If you understand.

It’s just a idea/suggestion. I would be happy with some of the other suggestions here. Of say on your hero tab. Uncommon dyes 20/500, Rare Dyes 30/100. Or the suggestion, that dye unlock be “account bound”, instead of character bound, as it is now. Just ideas to throw out their to Anet.
It wouldn’t have to be a “title”, could just be part of the achievements.

I’ve been going around doing the mapping, in lower end zones. I’ve noticed a drop off in players. But generally, their is other players in the zone. I think you have to take into account, what time you are playing. I play in DragonBrand. And generally, can find groups to game with. Or can ask out in local, How do I get this “poi,vista”. And generally can get a few answers back. A lot of people are in Lions arch, looking for groups for the various dungeons.

That being said, you may need to jump around a bit. Find one that has people “active”, at the times you can play. I generally play in the evenings. EST. And those are my experiences for my server.

Short answer; No.
Long answer; You can’t add the same dye to the one character. If you unlock an “Abyss dye” on your ranger and lucky enough to get a second one it will say it is already unlocked on that character. You can still send it onto another character to unlock it or sell it for cash.

I think they were suggesting that unlocked dyes , be made account wide. Instead of only character based.

I don’t think they were asking if you could do it. Else, they wouldn’t have made the comment “instead of character based”. Could be wrong thou.

Like to see them do something with this. In the future.

Of course its possible, I would also like to see a title for this.

The only reason I can think of that would make this request difficult is the fact that it is very likely that they may add/delete dyes.

But also for you other title hunters, expect many more titles to be created for other deeds you have done.

I didn’t think about that Lord Aargadon. Good point. About them adding/deleting dyes.

It’s just a suggestion everyone. It wouldn’t have to be “all dyes”. As for the comments of it being money driven. Yes, some players would go out and buy a bunch of them. Just to have the title. (the mini pet title anyone) So if that were to be the case, we could just have it as a tier achievement with no title.

Personally speaking, just 100% zones & doing dungeons/events in the game. I’ve probably unlocked over 100 unique dyes. Kinda curious, to know how many their actually is. And how close I am to having them all.

Would it be possible to add in a title, for all dye colors unlocked? Or a achievement?

Their is a chest that pops. IT doesn’t show, but is right their in the middle of the costume brawl. Look for it on the next go around.

The event will continue to run every few minutes all day long so everyone can get their hat and achievement, no worries.

The achievement “Attend the party”, you must be where the lion statue originally was, to partcipate in “Mad King Says”. A chest pops at the end, as a mass costume brawl starts.

Some people have had to log out, then back in. To have the achievement “attend the party” go thru.

Also, know, that you had to do the rest for the achievement. To get the Title
“Emissary of the Mad King”
The following are the achievements you must have completed to get “Emissary of the Mad King” completed.
1. “Halloween Hunting”
2. “Halloween Events Complete”
3. “It’s a Mad King World”
4. " Attend the Party"
5. “Trick or Treat Bags Opened”

Just so everyone knows. As the devs, have already explained. The achievements
1. “Pumpkin Carving”
2. “Mad King’s Clock Tower”
Neither one of these two achievements count towards, the “Emissary of the Mad King” Achievement & Title.

Been playing GW1, since beta. I remember the first time Mad King came to the game. And I was glad, to get to share it with, some of my old guild mates. That me and the wife have gamed with, for over 7 years. Along with some new faces, we have connected with on our server in DragonBrand. All games have their issues. But I’m very happy with Halloween’s Event. I can’t wait to check out Act 4. For the finale.

I can’t do the jump puzzle. But I don’t mind that at all. Overall, you took a event that has spanned years, on the first game. And made it better. I really look forward to seeing what Wintersday brings. And I got to have some fun with new people, because of the event today. It brought most of the server to one spot. I think that was planned. Ran the dungeon with newcomers, and had a great time.

I did the quest, to find the pages for the book. And the achievement " Halloween Events completed " . Still reads 0-1. I noticed it has 5 tiers to this. Is this in another Act? Or did the book quest, not count towards this?
