The 2 lowest servers by far are FC and ET. In someone’s infinite wisdom, they aren’t matched up against each other this week. I guess being thumped by 2 sides instead of one is a great plan in bizaaro world.

You may not be able to fathom this, but we actually prefer not being matched up. We are both too weak to take on any of the servers right now when paired up. When the other two servers are more evenly matched nobody is camping our spawns. Just look at the difference between the last two weeks and the first week of the new matchups. This really is better for us at the bottom.

Scoring is going to turn out the same. Having 2 bigger population servers fight over 4 maps is gonna look a lot like 1 bigger population server fighting over 4 maps. Reset night looks close because everyone is excited to see the new matchup. There wont be any difference by the end of the week.

Just look at FC’s week with IoJ and DR to know that what you said is not true. Now I don’t know what server you play on but I can tell you everyone I talked to in that DR IoJ FC match had a lot of fun. We had more people on our teamspeak and people in the borderlands that were very active. The match was great! Did we win? No, of course not. The awesome thing was not being focused constantly. So yeah, this match up is way better for us.

Don’t try to speak for the lower tiers when clearly you have no idea what we feel.

Well aren’t you angry. I’ve spent 7 months of nightly WvW on FC. If you don’t think we beat DR solely because of IoJ’s payback hatred, you are insane. They were taking our towers from DR and then leaving them for us. This is all moot until they do something about the populations of the servers anyway. I’m glad you feel that getting your butt kicked a little less than last week is way better.

Clearly we are not on the same server because we didn’t get our butts handed to us on reset, at all. We went at it with DR and GoM. We even managed to hold SM castle for a while. We haven’t had this many waypoints on the map in ages. We are doing so much better this week. We had around 70 people in our TS for reset night. That population didn’t drop off for about 4 hours. Based off of just reset this week will be better than the last two.

I guess the difference comes from you thinking that 8k down after 24 hours isn’t a butt kicking. The overall score at the end of the week will be a shade closer and we will take third. I like ET because even though its for 2nd place, at least there is a close score battle all week long. None of these matchups is very fun. Losing by 160k and having a few waypoints and losing by 220k and being spawn camped both suck. Everyone shows up for restart and as the scores spread out, they disappear (or pile on) depending on what your server score is.

For instance, as much as I hate facing TC (I’m on SoS), I freely admit that it’s not a ridiculous matchup. Fort Aspenwood sucks a couple of matches, and we could switch places. Then we would be true T2 (though the kick-around dog of the tier).

I’m sorry but I think a 118k lead by Tuesday is pretty ridiculous. I think it’s great that the other 5 matchups are close… but at the expense of the other 3? What happens if we get another kitten matchup 4 weeks in a row? Hope that they get it right next week? I bought this game for WvW and I’ve been on the server since launch but it’s incredibly frustrating right now.

What happens if you get another bad matchup? People will stop going to WvW. Just look at ET and FC.

Uh it WAS a fun night in FC BL but we didn’t come out to play, we had the same number of people we always have, about 15 on the entire map most of the time, maybe 20 at times.

Except that 60 person FC zerg that KoM fought for a while.

Dunno what time that was, but I was on from about 8 Pacific to about 11 30 Pacific and we never had more than 20 on BL. When I left it was more like 10. Unless these guys ported in from BL briefly.

When I was on last night, we had outmanned for part of the Bay loss and garrison loss. Think that was around midnight PST.

Don’t get me wrong, it’d be dreadful for the T2 folks, but I wonder if DB and TC did a 2v1, would JQ win and by how much?

Without any in-game incentives or mechanics to encourage the 2v1 I seriously doubt TC and DB would ally.

That match might end up even worse for DB than the BG-JQ-DB match did because TC would be under a lot more pressure to farm DB for points whenever possible to combat JQ’s strength, causing what would look like a JQ-TC 2v1 against DB (even though no such thing actually existed).

That to me is the single greatest failing of the current Rating/Scoring system – it does everything it can to encourage 2v1s against the weakest Server.

Or the middle server. The lowest wants to overtake and the first place wants to keep the lead.

Pretty much everyone T5 and below are having the times of their lives, except unfortunetely for the server that get put with the t8 severs.

Dont give in et, fc, fow, vabbi. one day these high populated severs will transfer some so that you can compete with us without having to deal with overwhleming numbers and give us the spanking you know you can give us XD ( i look forward to it wink wink ).

I always wonder about people who call it whining and if they’ve spent over 1/2 a year getting throttled week in and week out. You would think that if you have spent over 7 months in a no-win situation, you would have the right to complain about the setup. I guess you could just make fun of and dismiss 4 servers because you don’t happen to be them.

I was unable to find the process for forum infractions. Is there a link to how many you can receive before actions are taken? It’s not for me, it’s a hypothetical scenario only…

Only strategy I’ve learned from higher tiered servers is to bring a diaper-load of peeps to WvW. It’s about the only strategy we cannot mimic…

He probably exaggerated with the 15 minute thing, but he might be spot-on with the rest. I’ve only ever seen groups of PAXA attack solo roamers. Doesn’t mean that they only do that, but if I make that comment it might not be popular, but it is accurate from my experiences.

I must apologize to the FC zerg trying to take Greenbriar in their borderlands. We were just having too many lols. Because of us it took you guys like an hour just to break down a reinforced wall… and there were only 4 of us. LOL. Permastealth is so rediculously overpowered. We were sitting in Raidcall laughing the entire time because we triggered orange swords by having 25+ people attacking 4 people, and still lived to fight. So I must apologize for the frustration you must have gone through trying to kill us for an hour. Then of course, I make it into the tower and YOU DIDN’T SWEEP!!! After 3 thieves and a mesmer are screwing with you, you don’t take the time to sweep a tower and leave a permastealth thief inside (unfortunately we didn’t get the mesmer inside) to spike an elementalist who thought they had made it to safety inside their own tower. Oh the lols.

Ahoy! I’m on IoJ and having a great time with these varied matchups. Looking forward to our much-deserved raise in rank and the possibilities available from the new data. It’s sad to see all the complaints, but what else is new? Hopefully, we see the level of competitive play raised across the board and see more wins by smarter strategy versus bigger numbers.

I know FC and ET are really enjoying the data collection that ANET is doing right now. I’m starting to forget what EB looks like.

Wonder what all the other servers think about this new matching system.

Since the map colors have gone to random each week, there’s no need to beg for a POI to get map completion anymore. Just wait until you randomly get that map at reset.

I’m not knocking anyone being nice, just saying they switched things up to help out this problem anyway.

Dude, your sleep time is my primetime and my sleeptime is your primetime. Does this makes sense to you? We all need to sleep. We take advantage when the enemy sleeps. It’s that simple.

You should face DH. At least against us you can retake everything on your primetime. When we were against DH we can’t even retake everything we lost on both NA and Oceanic primetimes. Did we complain about it? No, DH made us better. We learned tactics and now we are against you guys and we use those tactics. We may have better numbers than you but we cannot do anything about it. We can’t tell people to “Hey, get out we are too many, they might lose! Our enemy might cry foul that we are too many!”

Once again, play whenever you want. The whole purpose of my thread was to draw attention to some guy bragging about the map after most of our population was offline. I’m not crying, I’ll spend another 5 hours tonight fighting in WvW. Take all the points you can, and then brag about it if you want. If you guys feel good, great for you.

Its what us IoJ Oceanics have always done, i personally, after months, want to see IoJ with that 695 PPT, and im hoping this week will be it. Now that we havent come up against a server with decent oceanic presence in months the braggings lessened a bit but its always good fun against DR, gettin their forum warriors all fired up

Its IoJs Oceanics that have kept us where we have been, getting above SF, somewhat keeping up with DH. Not taking it away from the NA guys, you lot have it twice as hard as us! I cant wait for the day we get stomped in Oceanic, this cakewalk cant last for too much longer surely!

Been roaming with my guild/pugs a lot more this week and never realised it was this fun!!! Flipping camps, 4 manning towers. Attempting to defend that tower then having the lords room portal bombed with 20+ FC, but there aint no overkill like IoJ overkill lol

Again tonight. We go over and take half of your map, and they go take half of ours. Guess it makes sense. We can’t keep enough people in 2 maps and still fight in EB, so they are getting easy points. You would think they would attack you in at least EB to close the gap though.

I have no idea what he was doing, but I’m sure he had fun up until we killed him. Poor golem.

First time I won a blueprint for a golem, I walked him around until I hit a group. Same results.
