This could either means 2 separate codes, or 1 code for both.

Actually, if you understood the American language(not English) and read that properly, then you would know that it’s one code, that includes both…i.e., it’s either an account upgrade to HoT if you already have the base game or a completely new game that includes the core game and HoT. That’s how I read it to begin with, it’s not my problem if most people don’t have good reading comprehension skills.

I have no proof of this but a friend of mine just killed HOT for me, he told me he read an article where it mentioned that the pack has only 3 maps x 3 layers. If this is true then Anet took 3 years to create 3 triple decker maps. He told me he still went ahead and bought it I told him to have fun an told him not to expect me anytime soon.
Will purchase when the game is 10 to 15 bucks which is what it deserves.
Even then I might not find the time for it as I have Assassin’s Creed and GTA 5 to finish and Fallout 4 on the way this fall. With this fiasco Anet has killed the game at least for me. Have fun guys.

Knock it off with the legal aspect. Any lawsuit has a kitten’s chance in Orr of success, and you (hopefully) know that. The real issue is the value offered for the money paid. Since the value isn’t (quite) there as far as we’ve been shown, simply vote with your (closed) wallet until A-net offers something at least slightly more attractive for the price.

I’d expect there is still content you can enjoy if you don’t have HoT, at least that’s what Anet was promising. Besides that it’s dailies, guild crafting, and storage space – some use that comes to mind. Plus there is always a possibility of a good discount for HoT that may come later.

If there is a discount it won’t be for a while, so its your choice. It also depends how much time you’ve put into your old account. If it is substantial then it would be a shame to throw it away like this but thats just my opinion. Also the new account, is a NEW account. It would be such a hassle to get bag slots, bank slots, and etc for it

They self support with a group of people who design weapon and armour sets and the extra money goes not just into profits, but sustaining the game. I believe it just comes with just the expansion, but from all this mess going around it seems that the core game isn’t even an option anymore. If you look at the shop at the top of this site. They are literally just giving away the core to players who purchase HoT. As for a boxed edition it would prolly come with one serial code for one account that gives access to the core and HoT

I didn’t see anything about it. Is Arenanet thinking of doing a Collector’s Edition for HoT? I want it, I have no interest in paying €100 (almost 115 US dollars) for a digital edition. I’d happily pay €150 for a collector’s edition (just like the original one).

Lots of players feel the same, and are eager to get a Collector’s Edition. This is a very good chance to make players happy and earn up to 3-4 times the original amount of the expansion. It’s a win-win situation, please consider it.

There are no plans for a collectors physical edition atm, you can find this information in the FAQS. They also stated that you will be able to upgrade from standard to deluxe via gem store but not ultimate. You literally buy standard or get ultimate for gem discount, there no real point in deluxe which makes me sad. I would be happy if pre purchasing felt special and these were limited

Seems like a simple solution. I’d happily pay $50 for expansion +1 slot as a vet. A new player gets great value by getting the base + HoT and has 5 empty slots to work with. But let me choose!

OP specifically mentioned the Gem Store. Gems can be bought by ingame gold and that would mean one would be able to buy the expansion for gold, instead of real money.

So I pre purchased the game with the ultimate edition because I love this game and think Anet is a great company. I was also hoping that it would come with this special feeling, but then realized all I really got was a discount. Looking at the FAQs is it true that you can upgrade from the standard to deluxe via gem store? If so, all it really means is that the pre-purchase just offers you a title and getting ultimate just gave you a discount on gems. lol, just wanted to share that I am a little disheartened xD

You don’t need extra speed focus more on damage,guessing you also are you SA so yes Strength is better than Travelers,especially with Valkyrie since you want to focus all your damage on Backstab and CnD if you are using Intelligence Sigil. You can start AA on SB>steal>swap & proc intelligence>CnD wait>CnD again>Backstab good damage.

Just wanted opinions, currently I am running valkyr set with traveler runes for wvw roaming. Do you think I should switch my runes to strength? if so why?
