Good to see more players posting spvp builds and footage
Well said pyro and I did get defensive, only natural given the work I put into recording, setting up youtube account for it, editing, finding music, etc. To get shot down with no regard to why I posted it to start with. I should have stated up front what the full purpose of disclosing it was for the community. Nonetheless I will improve as it was only my first video posting. Who knew posting vids could be such a hassle.
Oh I don’t oZii and I got respect for pyro I’ve seen his contributions to the Mesmer forums. I was referring to Everythingends bashing me at the start, who until recently didn’t even know Mesmer mind wrack clones diminish in damage as each one dies.
Here is a variant focused on staff to spread conditions, maintains the high level of toughness while pressuring with conditions . If you feel safe with it, swap torch for iduelist for extra bleeds on crit

Never stated it was my best game, just recorded a random game and tried my hand at video editing. Your trash talking is not needed here. If you think the video is so bad then post a better video yourself within a days time. If you can that is, rank is nothing more than countless hours spent in matches these days long as the game has been out.
I think the main issue is that you’ve taken examples of hotjoin. Hotjoin is….not worth showing. Too many poor players, too many people possibly learning new classes, trying new builds, etc. Winning in hotjoin doesn’t mean much.
Other than that, things like capturing a point with 2 people are pretty cut and dry blunders that don’t have any possible strategic explanation.
In hotjoin when you are ranking up, you get 10 points for neutralizing a point and another 10 for capping it. There is always a point in multiple people standing on a point, one never knows if a team is going to win or lose due to the variety of players and built sets as you stated yourself. I’d hardly call it a blunder to make sure you get all the points you can. In terms of difficulty playing with limited stats. Spvp is more challengeing than the easy mode that is wvw where people load full zerker gear with extra food buffs and 1 shot people. And when they are not doing that they zerg in mass. I do agree not many people care for spvp or more specifically hotjoin spvp because of these factors. There needs to be more people that do post videos of it for the side of the community that do like it. Futhormore anyone can watch a gameclip and point out every flaw they believe they see, this video link was not posted for people to bash, its for those who do like them. So to each their own and I’ll post more polished videos later. I don’t believe in only posting vids where one never dies, like a certain few do to make them look better. Everyone dies eventually.

@Holy Devastation…
I am confused by what it is you are looking for here. How is a 1v1 fight in sPvP more challenging and skillful that a 1v1 fight in WvW. You said that food buff gives a disadvantage, but the person I’m fighting also has a food buff. So, we are still on equal ground.
What is it you are looking for?
As Velkyn pointed out, there are other factors affecting it too. I merely pointed out food buffs being one of them. WvW is very much gear oriented, the upscaled leveling while is great for people to get a feel for pvp, makes for easy killing for those experienced. I’m not saying any of this needs changing, by all means theres a place for everything in guild wars 2. My post was just pointing out the lack of post/videos of spvp gameplay. (specficly the mesmer this time) The spvp forum itself is full of various strategies but not so much in its application and gameplay.
I’ve read this form for quite awhile and its always littered with WvW this and that But where are the skilled players at. The videos of mesmers from spvp with limited gear and none of those food boosts. Anyone got links to videos and/or builds spvp focused. Anyone can zerg their way through wvw. Spvp takes more than that.
I recently started playing a thief and it seems fairly ovious that bein smal and out of sight, i.e. an asuran has many advantages as a thief to conceal oneself longer and less noticeable when approaching someone to attack such as in pvp. However the asurans don’t have the hazey dodge animation like the others which leaves them to be less desired. So my question itself is, does the character size really have much impact in fights other than the element of surprise, or does it in fact make any difference in pvp fights. Just food for thought. I made a norn thief and the animations looks good but shes over 6" tall so it seemed a little ovious to see a giant running at you and think oh, its a thief giant, i should get ready.
