A little bit disappointed with the HoM Items

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: HunterGreen.8071

HunterGreen.8071

First off, the OP has stated several times “I need that mask.” No one “needs” any specific skin. It’s fluff. Wants? Desires? Sure. But definitely not a “need.” It’s not a game breaker. It’s not new by any means.

Most of the HoM skins are horrible compared to mid-level to end-game armor and weapon skins.

Sounds like an “entitlement” post. If you want the items, then pay the same price those of us with those items paid. Get GW:EN and earn them. Plain and simple.

World Completion?

The title “Been There, Done That” is account wide. To get the star icon by your name for each character, you will need to have 100% world completion on each character.

Why are Auras not actually auras?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: HunterGreen.8071

HunterGreen.8071

Personally, I’d rather see the little flashing icons than to have them stack on multiple auras.

If you’ve ever been in a huge WvW battle with all 3 servers players stacked up in SM’s great hall, you’d understand. It’s already very graphic intensive from all of the AoE’s going off. Add auras to all that mess and it could, potentially, become 100x worse.

Senility Guild is an 18+ very casual social adult guild on Sea of Sorrows server. We have members whose interest include all aspects of the game.

  • We’re based out of NZ, and have members in AUS, US, CAN & EU.
  • We are tailored to the working adult and/or parent who cannot afford to spend countless hours on an MMO when life’s priorities demand our attention.
  • Senility offers an adult community that specializes in casual play for adults who want to enjoy MMO’s without the pressures and time demands that other guilds sometimes inadvertently place on their members.

We’ve known for quite a long time that you would need EoTN to get the HoM rewards. It’s not like this was shocking news on GW2’s release. It’s one of the reasons I kept playing GW1.

It was made to be the bridge between 1 and 2, introducing the races and story we now have in GW2. The reward for supporting that expansion is access to the HoM.

Exactly.

When they released GW:EN (it’s not EOTN) and announced GW2 was in development, they said that the HOM achievements would be linked to GW2.

I even went back to GW1 for a few weeks to get some extra unlocks. Sounds like the OP just wants something for free. Those of us that do have the HOM paid for it, and most paid a lot more than just the $19.00 that it is now.

As previously stated, as well, it’s just a few armor/weapon skins, some mini pets that don’t even count towards GW2 mini achievements, and titles for every 5 HOM points. It’s nothing to get yourself worked up over. But if you’re one of those that must do/have everything, then spending $19.00 for GW:EN, and spending months/years grinding out those points is your only option.

The "Queue Bug", a theory as to the cause

in WvW

Posted by: HunterGreen.8071

HunterGreen.8071

Without reading through all of the responses…

Long queues even when getting the Outmanned Buff:

This may be off the mark, but one thing I did notice was that when my wife logged off while in WvW, she was still showing at being there. When she logged in to GW1, she was showing online, but grayed out, in WvW.

Perhaps the server’s “thinking” that everyone with the WvW location is still “physically” in WvW when, in fact, they are either off-line or, in the case of my wife, in GW1.

January 28th Update Anticipation Thread

HunterGreen.8071

I’m seeing a lot of comparisons between Event Times and Update Times. Most updates/patches that I’ve noticed come around 4PM Pacific, around the same time as the Daily Reset.

Event times are completely different. They can start/end those at specific times during the day. For example: Lost Shores was patched prior to the Karka event, then the event started and ended when the “Monkey flipped the switch.”

I’m not expecting the patch for another 4 hours.

SOS Server - Looking for Small(ish) Guild

in Guilds

Posted by: HunterGreen.8071

HunterGreen.8071

This is for Sea of Sorrows server only.

My wife and I have been playing for a few months. We’re looking for a casual, mature guild with a friendly atmosphere. The “ideal” size would be between 20 and 50 active members.

Interests include PvE, WvW, Dungeons (very limited experience) and Events. We are not hardcore, but sometimes spend many hours in game.

We both work at home, so teamspeak, ventrillo, etc. would be problematic most times, so any guilds requiring VoIP for their primary means of communication, please overlook this post. We can use them, but only for limited duration.

We are not interested in moving to another server. All responses stating “If you’re interested in moving to X server…” will be ignored.

not always be right, but I am never wrong.

Blazeridge steppes shoulders?

in Players Helping Players

HunterGreen.8071

According to the wiki (and I realize it’s far from complete), there’s a huge gap in the karma shoulder armor. After 41 it jumps to 73. I did notice a severe lack of continuity in some of the karma armor sets while leveling my latest character.

Leveling Troubles....

in Players Helping Players

Posted by: HunterGreen.8071

HunterGreen.8071

What I’ve found works good is leveling up to around 7 or 8 in your own cultural starting area, then go to one of the other starting areas until around 13 or so. Then go back to your own starting area and finish it up, then finish up the alternate starting zone you were working on. By finish, I mean complete all hearts and skill points and get all waypoints and points of interest. Also participate in any events that you can.

Example: Humans start in Queensdale – Level up to 7/8 then go to Wayfarer Foothills and do the green area on the map (this should get you a few levels).

You can get to Lion’s Arch by going through the Mists. The little PvP icon in the upper left of your UI. Go there and then go through the portal straight in front of where you load in. You’ll port in to LA at the WvW portals. Just run across the bridge to the North, then hang a left. The portal hub for all starter zones is there. There are NPC’s on each of the ramps (Norn for Wayfarer Foothills, Asura for Metrica Province, Humans for Queensdale and Sylvari for Caladon Forest).

<- That guy over there.
Main: Have 3 level 80’s (Warrior, Ranger and brand new level 80 Guardian – just hit 80 about an hour and a half ago).
Server: Sea of Sorrows
Interests: PvE and Exploration, but would like to get into groups for dungeon runs since I have very little experience with the dungeons (I have only done a few). Have dabbled in WvW.
Active:Playtimes vary, but I can usually get on for at least 4 hours a day.

Comments: This is outside the box of what’s considered “The Norm” and I like the idea. I’ve been playing MMO’s for the better part of 16 years and this is a first for me. I’d like to be a part of it.
