Is it wing 3 or raid 3 though? after all, the 2nd wing is still part of ‘envoy armor I : experimental armor’. Supposedly there will be a II and III to follow, possibly even an IV as with the fractal backpack.
From what I can tell it seems that the next wing will only make the first precursor-step obtainable, meaning it’ll probably be another 2 years or so before we get the full legendary. I may be misunderstanding things though.
Hey, any EU guilds doing this? I already sent Mikey a PM just now, but a guild for this would be useful.
I do find it is really quite hard to get started into raids at this point unless you are part of a guild that has plenty of active raiders (which I am not). Everyone and their dog wants you to have Legendary Insights to even let you join.
Hey, mind to pop me an invite?
Have 1 full ascended heavy berserker set and all classes lvl 80.
So I can play PS War or berserker Guardian/Revenant.
I could play all other classes on full exotic with maybe some asc. trinkets.
Anet thinks it’s good to continue with Silverwaste chest farming.
GW2 should be about Swinging your Shovel. (Lord of the Silverwastes anyone?)
I’m impressed. Not in a positive way for that matter.
Putting SAB mini’s on with no indication of SAB returning within the next year…
I’d say “maybe they are hinting on it”, but after interviews barely a month ago clearly stating it’s not being worked on, it’s pretty clear nothing will return. But not everyone has seen these interviews, so many will have been hyped just to find out that nothing good is coming.
I was really looking forward to HoT, because I love exploring new stuff in this game, but I must say I feel less and less happy about spending money on a game when the company messes around like that.
If SAB doesn’t return anytime soon – which it probably won’t – I think I’ll rather buy some new games than get HoT… (not trying to threaten ANet, I know they don’t care about single players. Just saying things as they are.)
They really should make this available for Laurels or at least make it available again next wintersday – and confirm that this will happen.
I’m all for keeping some content temporary, but after all previous rewards of this kind have been available on the Laurel merchant, just suddenly popping an event where you don’t get anything if you happened to miss it makes no sense at all. All or nothing, if some temporary rewards stay available, all have to stay.
regardless of this, ways to get rid of this enormous spam in ascended crafting materials should never have been event-bound in the first place. Pretty much every active player had more of these materials than they will ever use within a month of them being released – now just throwing drops away to keep them from piling up.
Not sure if 1st person would make SAB easier or harder, but I’ll definitely replay all jp’s on 1st person and SAB would also be on the list for that – if Anet brings it back that is.
Except many people would be fine just getting worlds 1-2 back. I understand that until all the Expansion and story stuff and some fixes and all that lot are dealt with, no more content will be added to SAB.
Still “people will complain about us re-releasing existing content with no changes” is the only (and pretty weak) explanation I can think of to not return existing SAB levels.
Edit: Also that maybe they don’t want to go against the ‘lore’ of Moto saying that SAB is taking down for upgrading – he would hardly open it up without an upgrade then. Since he also said eventually everyone will have a SAB at home, I could see that as a reference for an SAB-node sorta thing eventually being on the GEM store for home instances or somesuch. Probably after World 4 is out, approximately 20 years from now.

I can’t believe it’s been way over half a year since people started meeting up for protests in Rata Sum. Also, I can’t believe Anet has been completely ignoring the request to just put back existing content.
By now I could see their only motivation to not put back SAB being “people will complain about us re-releasing it without adding world 3 yet, which would be annoying, so we’d rather give them nothing at all until we have world 3 done”
So yeah. Here’s me still with my ICC in my bank and a whole character inventory filled up with SAB stuff like baubles.
Shriketalon, I am rather impressed by the work you put into describing all the things wrong with the characters we accompany.
I did notice most of your points during gameplay, but your elaborations are quite detailed.
A big concern i have with this method of storytelling is also that they keep forcing my character into a role i don’t want it to have. If the story gave me a good reason why i had to travel with those companions, then that would make sense. But from the perspective of my character which i customized at the beginning of my very first login, the Living Story is a mess.
Even if i were to say ‘okay, maybe the characters bonded Off-screen and like each other due to that’ (which would still not change that the plot should at the very least hint on why we are connected to all these characters) my character simply would never fit into these situations. The dialogue options when talking to anyone ever display my own playable character as a person i wouldn’t even like – not to mention one i would want to play.
Why am I forced to make (bad) jokes about giving Scarlet the final blow?
Why am I forced to be friends with characters I may not even like?
Why am I forced to pretty much completely abandon the Guild I chose in the middle of the Game – the one choice during gameplay that ever affected what would happen later on?
We got the choice to join the Vigil, the Priory or the Order of Whispers – Just because they did join forced to build the Pact doesn’t mean I am no longer a member of my Guild! Yet, after the first Elderdragon was slain, we abandoned both our post as Pact commander (even though the pact is clearly still working towards fighting more Dragons), but even the Guild we chose ourselves – For once we actually get to make a choice and then we abandon it soon after?
This is not my character. This character i play was forced to become someone I would never want to be, neither in game, nor in real life.
This was a lot of text for a small point to bring across, but even though i know these things have been mentioned across the forums before I wanted to bring it into context here.
As things stand, chances are that ‘Elder Dragons’ will never be World Bosses, but always get a Dungeon of their own.
The fight against Zhaitan was much too easy, especially as the Dragon Champions (Worldbosses) actually seem Stronger than him, but there is a chance the Zhaitan fight will be changed to be less… lame… before a new Elder Dragon is added to the game.
But yes. Tequatl is just one of Zhaitans many minions – although a really strong one at this point.

Can someone please explain me which difficulty in any game ever is NOT trial and error?

I may be the only one thinking like that, but for the challenge (disregarding a few not too incredibly simple jumps like the geysirs. You know. You need a tiny amount of timing to not fall off /shock) i rather took upon myself to try and predict where they would place the traps.
And guess what. while in W1-1 i died A LOT, it was indeed pretty much trial and error, in all following worlds i died fewer and fewer to begin with. because eventually you know how the developers were thinking and can base your expectation of traps on that analysation.
Guess what, challenge doesn’t always lie in defeating other players who have no idea whatsoever what they are doing.
In regular PvP, 3 out of 4 matches are against teams that are playing completely at random. Now that’s not just about GW2, but every MMORPG that contains PvP i’ve ever seen.
Challenge? My Rank is actually low because i don’t play it often. But if that’s the level of ‘challenge’ in PvP, i have no reason to even spend time raising my rank.
The jumps in SAB are not difficult. That being said, there is not a single difficult jumping puzzle in this game and never has been. Same for all other content. The dungeons are all ridiculously easy on a group that doesn’t consist of lvl 40 players on white gear. The difficulty of Fractals actually decreases on higher levels as you have less and less people with no idea how to press the ‘F’ key to interact with an object. WvW is difficult for the commanders. 98% of all other people just randomly spam attacks hoping they won’t die anyway.
Having something where trying to predict what the Devs are thinking actually helps you A LOT is surely the most challenging thing in this game so far. Unless of course you prefer the tedious task of running into every single trap until you know all their placement. That’s the alternative – and certainly easier for people unable to see the Point of View of others – that you chose yourself.
That being said, i still don’t approve of making something easier after release. Make it more fair? okay. But if you make something easier at one point, make the rest a bit harder to keep it even. Difficulty spikes may not be good, but making a game easier and easier just so even those people unable to press ‘Space’ and ‘W’ and all that while looking at the screen can run it? Yeah. Great idea.
p.s.: All percentages mentioned are estimations. I didn’t actually make statistics about this. Maybe i should though.

I saw not a single problem with the difficulty beforehand. actually, in my opinion they could have made everything even harder. but it was fine as a World 2 out of 4.
But WHY take away everything that’s the least kittenallenging?!
World 2 is just like World 1 now. Not to mention that baubles are now so common, it seems their “mindless farming” ideals must have changed a lot.
Just because all kids always have to complain -.-’ at least should’ve kept Tribulation mode the way it was. It’s okay for normal mode to be simple, but for Trib-mode that’s simply not the point.
I’m just happy i did all of this Before the patch. Else i probably wouldn’t have done Trib-mode at all.
Pretty sure it’s lag. looking at the damage-numbers you can usually tell that while on your screen your character is on top of something, on the server it apparently fell into some trap instead by the position being incorrect (due to lag).
I had usually when i used auto-run to move forward (i often use autorun during jumping puzzles and similar)
Been noticed, been reported, apparently the problem is in most cases, that people left before the timer ran out.
Personally i did it twice, the second time it counted.
If there really is a bug, they are probably going to patch it soon.
Can you do World 2 without slingshot or bomb?

Yes, it is. I rarely use it to begin with and i think on my first playthrough i probably didn’t. In any case i see no reason why it wouldn’t be possible.
The freezing bananas are a pain without ranged, but a bit of dodging and even those are simple.
The torch however you will need.
Right after the puzzle with the sheep and pressure plates there is a door you can open using 32231, currently checking what’s behind it
Edit: this just brings to the shortcut backwards that can be reached from the ramp later. Still checking for the right place.
Edit2: A bit later comes another openable door that reveals 3 boon-barrels. Nothing useful.
Edit3: Disconnected, will have to restart the level.
Edit4: In the little forest at the hillbillys near the beginning there’s a door that opens and leads to a huge underground cave… which doesn’t seem to have any purpose so far.
Edit 5: Starting to wonder about the meaning of life. I may discover this before i find anything useful in SAB.
Edit 6: On the right side of the ice-field that hurts you right after the first smaller pressure plate puzzle a door can be opened. although the ice might hurt you a bit meanwhile. Leads to mysterious frozen waterfalls. Is this it? Is this the place where i can find the Waffles?
Edit 6.2: Maze of Waterfalls leads to field of frozen Bananas. “Bananas might taste good with Waffles” says a voice in my head. “What are Waffles?” replies another.
Edit 6.3: Old Man found behind Frozen Waterfall behind Wall behind Army of Bananas behind Frozen Waterfall Maze behind Wall taught me ‘Shatterer Serenade’.
Plays Shatterer Serenade while chewing on frozen banana-sticks
(edited by Iaknihs.8536)
Mikuchan, i think you can get the Wallet after the place you melt down a waterfall. stick to the left a bit and try to bomb the corners all the way in the back (downstairs where the bananas try to freeze you) theres another store hidden there. i Think that’s where i bought the wallet.
Let me see.
1 Can bomb floor on top of a mountain after 2nd octopus
2 bomb floor near rakitten where you get the song
3 store under the gong tower
4 a store near beginning where you got bounced by 2 flowers
5,6,7 not sure what else was counted as hidden rooms? maybe the hole that gets you to the last chest or something?
the room with the song near the rakitten might count as 2 rooms since u have to bomb first and then use the song for the second one. not sure.
8 & 9 ???

Gong sequence is everything wrong with W2
in Super Adventure Box: Back to School
Posted by: Iaknihs.8536
Simple to do if you open your eyes, no precise movement necessary as the gongs hitbox is HUGE compared to the visible gong making it easier for the player, incredibly easy to skip via at least 2 different methods if you hate it so much. ;3
i jumped down from a different one there.
I didn’t get the Kill All Assassins on infantile either – no idea if it works on normal. Now gonna try Tiptoe without invisibility~
Hey,
I’m wondering if anyone here has finished the ‘Bachelor of Secrets, World 2’ Achievement.
I have spent quite a while looking around ankitten ow on 7/9 Hidden Rooms. That being said i already got my ‘Bachelor of Baubles, World 2’ Achievement, so the missing ones must be shops or something.
Could the missing Elite Skill also be in that zone?
I have just completed World 2 Bachelor of Baubles in Infantile mode.
I have completed all World 1 Achievements in the first release, so not sure if there are any changes there.
I did all on normal mode before i started doing them in Infantile for the Achievement. sooo nopes. still 31/33
I found it much easier to do alone.
Exactly Absolutionis. So those people who actually like to play that kinda stuff – or forcedly want all the achievement points – have to pay a few Gold to make it more possible. Don’t see anything wrong with that. Plus some people might actually even spend money on GEMs. I mean. Someone has to fund the game, after all. No GEMs, no Devs or Servers, no Game.
If you’ve ever read the Developers statements, you should’ve noticed that the Tribulation mode from the very beginning was exactly for those >just a few “MLG XHardcoreXGamerzX”< out there. And everyone else who likes a challenge.
Now if you only read part of them and didn’t understand the point of it all, you could say “Trib. mode is just hours of trial and error, no difficulty, just random annoyance”.
If you had actually looked into it you may have noticed that the whole design has a pretty logical approach to it. every path you would normally take won’t work. Every path that looks easy won’t work. Every path that – after looking at player psychology for quite a while – would be too obvious to people won’t work.
If you consider these things and use some own logic, you can actually quickly predict 90% or so of the traps.
It was never intended to be easy or even fair. It builds on having to try and understand what the developer was thinking – which once again is build on expecting what the players will think – to predict traps. otherwise you will run into every single one, as in the beginning i’m sure most people will. But after a few minutes of playing is should become quite obvious what you’re supposed to be doing. If this is a skill you lack, this challenge is simply not intended for you. Play the normal mode or let it be.
Rapids are too glitchy and annoying.
For glitches i recommend to file a bug-report. Although the Rapids worked perfectly fine for me; it might be worth looking into though if something is wrong.
My personal POV on the idea of “Too much content”:
If i don’t have enough time for something: i don’t play it.
If i don’t like the new content: i don’t play it.
If i miss something i’d like to have played: it will probably return in some form eventually.
I don’t intend to obtain all achievements – only those that are fun and preferably challenging.
And did that make me fall behind other players? Not in the least. I don’t have full Ascended Gear – oh well, those 3 stat-points better than Exotics will probably ruin the Gameplay for me, not. I am only on 5k Achievement points. Yes. 5k. I started playing on the first day of release. What i did all that time to not be on 10k or so now? Whatever seemed fun at the time. Does that make me inferior to people who have 12k or so Achievement points? Dunno, dun care. Some weapon skins i don’t even want, a bit free gold they could farm within 3 hours if they wanted to… I don’t think i’m missing out on anything by just doing what’s fun. And no, personally i didn’t spend a single minute Farming something either.
I like the new content! New stuff to check out every two weeks! If i like it, i do it. If i think it’s boring i don’t do it. Simple.
’Nuff spamming the chat.
Same happened to me. I also reported the Bug via Ingame Bug-Report (Under “Events and Renown Hearts” because there is no Living Story or Achievements section) where the report includes a Screenshot just like Nhalx’s here.
Oh well… i didn’t get completion for Zone 3 at all even though i did it…
only had regular reward at the end, not trib mode reward…
Edit: I did get the Reward “King Toad Z-3” but not the “Glutton for Punishment 3/3”, it’s still on 2/3 although i have clearly finished all 3 zones.
(edited by Iaknihs.8536)
I agree. Although i believe he already expected that many people will complain about this. People always are noisy when they don’t get everything for free ;3
Did you go to the place where you obtain Moto’s Breath? i went there and it counted toward the achievement.
I agree Gaiyeerishima Cat. I absolutely love this mode, but i do believe what people are complaining about is “i don’t care that others like this content, if I don’t like it it shouldn’t be there” and “how dare you give achievement points for something that can’t be solo’d by a 3 year old with a mental disorder”.
In all honesty, these “Achievements” in SAB World 2 are as of now the Only ones in the entire game that actually feel like ‘achievements’ to me. All others i’ve obtained so far were not rewarding at all, as there was never any challenge to begin with.
Personally, i love SAB. But then again, the thing i liked the most about GW2 before that were Jumping Puzzles. Some people like them, some people hate them. I just don’t see why people instantly start whining when updates don’t fit their tastes, acting like they NEED those achievement points. What for? Some boosts you have almost no use for anyway…?
@The developers of the SAB: Thanks! Best update since launch imho.
+1 +1 +1
Do want – not just for this event, but also for ALL upcoming events that have any chance of encountering problems like this.
I guess everyone already understood there is a bug, but i will just leave my own info here, too.
Stuck on 12/13,
map “Fields of Ruin” was only counted the second time i did it.
i have done ALL other maps (using a list) Twice or more now.
for several maps i made sure that i already did them 3 times.
The Fields of Ruin map was counted after doing only one minion-event and then watching anime on my second screen while just standing around on GW2 because i’m starting to get tired of trying to get this achievement.
I did not have a single disconnect during any of the events; in all i counted finished at the very least one minion event (usually much more).
We (duh) did not always Win the Invasion, (often Scarlet got away), but many maps were counted regardless.
I am currently in the process of finishing my list of maps i have completed at least 3 times; still hoping to find out which map didn’t get counted Twice.
Well yeah, i see that it’d not be something to expect anytime soon anyway. just since Dungeons have weapon and armor-sets that kinda belong to each other, i think it would be awesome to have a complete set for this!
And with new weapon skins coming out most likely with the second world, i think making some armor by the time the 4th world is released would be possible, probably^^
And no, the armor shouldnt be completely transparent; running around naked would be weird – although some light armors do get pretty close
Now i don’t know if this has been said before, if so someone Merge it please, but i didn’t find anything via the Search function.
In any case, if all 4 parts of the SAB are to be released, i think it might be a good idea to have armor skins that match the weapons and backpack?
I Think it might be cool, but that’s just my opinion^^
