Everyone has been firing off left and right theories, and from what little I’ve read several seem quite plausible. But, I have another one, and this may have already been mentioned. What about the Mursaat? Anet said that they would do something cool with them and this would be pretty cool. Think about it, we know that Scarlet has voices in her head, but for those of you who played gw1 and remember the Lazarus quest, this is possible and within their power. Also at the end of GW1 the Mursaat withdrew from the world into their own dimension. What better way to access a portal to their dimension but on an intersection of leylines in Lion’s Arch? As for the toxin and the poison, if Scarlet is fighting the influence of the Mursaat then she’s gonna want as many assets as possible. A powerful poison could well kill a Mursaat and you can’t fight an army without your own. How she got possessed, that’s easy, in the voodoo crazy-man machine she soared past the vision of the Pale Tree and onward. What if she went far enough out that a Mursaat found her and pushed its way in? I realize its not a perfect theory and there are loopholes but there are loopholes in every story. One of the arguements you guys will probably use is: What about Caithe’s secret? There are a few possibilities, one: that Anet is distracting us from Scarlet’s goal. Two: Caithe could be working for either Seer or Mursaat (or Forgotten?). I just thought that the theory fit the facts a little too well for coincidence, but its entirely possible that I am completely mistaken.
Perhaps it is a coincidence Mr. Sarcasm, you know maybe some ele’s just play the profession because, despite everything that has been done to it, they enjoy it.
Well the majority of ele players are only here till a better game comes out. We just have nothing else to do at the moment which is the only reason why we’re still hoping they fix things. They have until EQnext and the English version of PSO2 is out before I get tired of it and just throw in the towel and move on to a game with a balance team that hopefully has atleast half a brain between them all. I’ve kind of given up hope though since they’re extremely biased when it comes to balancing the game. One of the devs mains a warrior and the other was walking around on a necro before. Oh and look which 2 classes are the current super OP kings of the game right now! GASP How shocking! Such a coincidence!
1) Kodiak you are probably the most intelligent person on this forum page
2)Nikinella: We get that you played ele first, we get that you know it left, right, up, down, and every other direction known to man. Good for you, i do too, quit comparing it to the warrior and then bragging about warrior prowess, cause no one cares.
3) Read Kodiak’s post about options then shut up and pick one, this whining is pointless.
Forgive my horrible grammar.
Alright guys, look, I am an ele loyalist. I played the ele in GW1 from 1-20, he was my first and last character. I’ve been playing the GW2 ele since the betas, i was there for every step of the ele’s development, been through the good, the bad, the ugly, and back again. I’ve played just about every profession at least once and still love the ele. Now, agree and disagree with everyone equally. You all have pieces but you won’t put them together. I believe that yes, to one degree or another Anet screwed us over, i also believe that there is nothing we can say that is going to make them change their minds. My belief is that both eles and Anet are at fault. So we can’t keep up with the other professions, are we not trying hard enough? or is this Anet’s fault? the answer is both. The solution to this problem is to stop whining and boo-hooing about it and start finding a way to make do with what you got. If you don’t think your ele is powerful enough, then start playing with builds, their is a huge number of stat combos out there, play with them! If you don’t like that solution then quit playing the ele, it’s very simple.
Are you serious right now? So what if it happened or not? The point is that it is possible as demonstrated by the Xunleashed video. This is a stupid argument. The nerfs happened, no one who plays an ele with any regularity is happy. There is nothing that fighting with each other will accomplish except to prove that you’re a bigger idiot than the other guy. Whether Anet hates the ele or not is irrelevant, if you don’t like the way the game is designed then don’t play it. No one wants to here about your boohoos over the nerfs.
*I have a level 80 ele before anyone accuses me otherwise.
sigh, i thought the point was pretty clear
*similar to chess
happy?
Very, merely pointing out that not all pieces are the same power level.

at least one of those is: Learn To Program
i’m talking to you ArenaNetthe reason elems complain so much, is because mmo’s should be a modern version of chess
there are different roles on the board, each significant in its own right.. and formidable when paired up with other pieces.. this obviously isn’t the game ArenaNet is constructingthe game is rather unbalanced. if it were a person, you would send it to therapy
constructive criticism is completely warranted, but most of the complaining lacks depth.
much of the gw2 forum base can’t even grasp the fundamental differences between 0p, nerf, and tweaking skills. it Has led to some completely redundant patch notes…i’m doubtful the game will rise to the occasion at this point
it seems to have degenerated into a feeding ground for trolls, sheep, and lemmings
enjoy the scraps, while they last
the rest of us aren’t amused
While i agree with the chess analogy it is mildly inaccurate as you have several pieces that A) Circumvent the general rules (Knights) B ) Are more powerful than the rest (Queen) and C) Are weaker than the rest (King & Pawns).
- I do recognize that all these can be defeated by less (or more) powerful pieces, however an intelligent player with a powerful piece will be nigh invincible compared to the lesser pieces.
No, more defense, our DPS is some of the best in my opinion, we need more defense if anything, but that might unbalance the classes.
I agree with you Kirby. And, really LT. Google? are you really complaining about our ability to RUN AWAY? Why would anyone complain about someone running away, to me, it sounds like you’re just upset that there is finally something/someone that you can’t kill easily.
I’m not certain MH sword would be the best idea for the ele, the mesmer can pull it off simply because of the clones, but an ele? What would you use it for? A casting weapon? we already have a scepter. We don’t need a melee weapon for eles they would die instantly
I think an ele would not do very well with a melee weapon other than a dagger. They are so squishy sometimes. However, a bow would be very interesting, another idea that i liked was the torch, that seems like a very viable option.
They took out the Holy Trinity for a reason. Making a profession with heals would be a breaking of what they originally promised not to do. Plus making a profession entirely supportive would make it impossible to play simply because you couldn’t fight anything.
What about an alchemical engineer? you could use a staff or scepter as like different control rods or some such thing.
