1. with 11 stacks of might geared roughly the same as Yojack i have 3111 attack, 8 stacks of might 3050 attack. this is at lvl 80 unbuffed 2811 attack rifle and 2533 S/W. with 3 stacks (always up) i easily have more than 3k attack as long as i have sharpening stone or blood lust stacks. less power for sword but more condition damage isn’t an issue still puts out stacks of bleeds better than other weapons and gets greater benefit from might stacks also giving 30 condition damage stats a stack. The gear with power greater than Rampager’s is P/V/T or Zerkers, what you don’t get with those is a higher crit chance to proc more of your traits/sigils and get the base 150% bonus weapon damage along with always max weapon damage roll rng. Maxing Power > Precision is a gamble, yes you could outdamage it with more power but you must rely on RNG rolls and getting lucky streaks of crits possibly 30% less crits than with Rampagers gear.the extra crit damage % from zerker’s doesn’t come close to the 150% you get base and other people have ran the numbers showing that crit damage % is counted more than other stats so it means less stats to go around to the other modifiers on a given piece of gear.

2. I have recently swaped out coral gems in accessories for knights to add more toughness and less condition damage still the same amount of precision, got myself an endless quiver back piece to balance out for more toughness as well i am currently siting at 2.5K toughness not a lot but you don’t need to be a tank with 3k toughness if you have good regen from food/trait/healing signet along with one of the highest base health pools in the game.

3. warhorns purpose is more than group buffs. traited it converts conditions into boons, this is huge that vuln becomes protection, poison becomes regen, so on and so on. yes its clunky and cast time is annoying but still an amazing get away tool can easily turn fights if used smartly.

4. If you want CC on warrior you get hammer or mace, the point of this build isn’t CC don’t even know why you are complaining about this one, Soft CC is your slows this build has 2 soft CC and 2 hard CC, slows from sword 3 and rifle 2, stun/imob from burst of sword or 5 rifle.

5. i think you are sleeping on the sword but i won’t argue it is underpowered but what it lacks in power it makes up for in mobility and bleed stacking, if you want power like this thread suggest use an axe, you just won’t have the same type of mobility but you pick up more power.

6. healing power is a completely underpowered stat, that is why most people don’t run it for min/max. this isn’t a major weakness its just math with some of our skills only using like 12.5% of the value to the Regeneration boon, and it adds ~6.5% value to class-based passive HoTs. it becomes a worthless stat when you realize you can get far more healing power out of blood sigils and precision stat. 1000 stats just for 2200 healing more every 25s isn’t worth the loss in damage from less power/crit.

7. its not a must you can easily survive with more control over what you remove with quick breathing you get to pick the conditions you want to convert to boons and your cooldowns are less.

8. i don’t see where he used sigil of superior health. i always asumed he was using blood sigil which has a 2 sec cooldown between procs.

9. yea that sigil is like adding 50+ precision, more crits = more bleeds/heals/150% base damage modifier. off hand sigils share cooldown with mainhand sigils if they proc no use running two of the same sigil, so more crit will benifit the superior sigil of blood better than any other sigil.

don’t know what kinda gear you had when you tested in WvW, but my numbers where different from yours maybe you didn’t max out your stats?

condition removal is not that big a deal in my experience, especially if you save your flurry after they blow the removal even if you didn’t auto sword stacks bleeds like a champ with 33% trait, as soon as they remove in most cases i stack another 5-8 bleeds in like 4 auto attacks. the classes that are very good at removing conditions (guardians,necro,theif stealth trait,ele trait) all are easily handled with the exception of guardians being probably the hardest to make your conditions stick too especially if they run smite.

Necro’s are plauged with bugs like 80% of the time if they remove the conditions i am still doing more burst damage so it doesn’t really change the outcome in my experience, when they convert my boons to conditions gives me more trouble than them removing conditions on themselves.

Theifs are annoying when they stealth to remove bleeds/heal , but i find half of them still come out of stealth with bleeds ticking away meaning they are not running that trait. one time i even flurried right after one was trying to get away and he came out of stealth taking a dirt nap right where i rooted him lol.

Ele d/d bunker spec right are such a handful that without condition damage ignoring armor protection boon i doubt i would stand any chance 1v1 when they switch between water and earth for protection and heals and occasionally trying to burn me in fire atune but i just wipe that away with shouts and rifle stack bleeds because they move around so much its hard to always hit them with sword and wait for magnetic aura then volly/killshot after its blown. still a tough fight just like with guardians i have came across where we just can’t kill each other fast enough and it always drags on like a stalemate till one person gets help from someone else.

if you want to add a dash of berserker to your gear setup. Gems are great if you don’t have a rune set in mind. Options that are less bad are Shoulder, Glove, and Boots since they are just a little worse than average. And if you want to add even more, Amulet and 1 hand weapon aren’t terrible. Personally, I don’t think I’ll ever use any of the other berserker pieces because the combined total of stats is actually below average to other sets impart because of the crit damage takes up a good chunk of stats.

I run full rampagers all the prec i can get my hands on, why because it abuses blood sigils and 33% chance to stack another bleed trait. my rifle crits for 700-900 auto and 3-4.5k volly,4-6k kill shots.

don’t concern yourself with big numbers, with full adren and 8 stacks of might i crit 850+ and bleed for 113 a sec, at 11 stacks of might its 900+ and 120-130 on bleeds. in WvW i have no problems without huge crit numbers because bleeds ignore protection boon and armor so its a trade off for more well rounded damage over large numbers with less much less chance to crit comparing zerkers to rampagers.

Some like Dolyak but the regen is so little its practically worthless. Toughness>Vit for warriors since our base health is already the highest toughness will help Efective hp because it benifits from your already high base health.

dont play much sPvP but if i did i would play around with any high toughness runeset, then probably settle with Divinity for the all around boost if i wasn’t running shouts. Rune of Lyssa is also mighty tempting with Sigil of rage being a pretty short cooldown especially since you miss out on condition removal from rune of soldier. Rune of Undead would also be worth testing out especially if you replace some of your gear with toughness instead of vit that 5% tough convert to condition damage could be helpfull if you have high toughness. Rune of Krait would be awesome if not for its stupid 6th slot that is absolutely useless. it needs like bleeds have extra tic of damage when they are finished/removed in its final bonus to be number one bleed condition rune set.

Anet has said they are making moves towards more WvW rewards, the quick turn around with removing orbs till they implement a new system. I imagine they are going to do some big things in WvW in the future, this includes leaderboards and extra rewards imo. i would love if they included more ranks besides peons and commanders as well for something to work for even if it was based on taking objectives or defending objectives rather than kills. right now i just get badges which are ok for buying siege or pow/vit/t healm/accessories and saving money but you can also get tons of free siege from jp so its kinda a stale reward. Doesn’t even get me excited to see drop i would rather have more silver from greens, sitting on like 300 badges with more siege than i care to throw down in a given week including superior arrow/balista because i have to many basic of those.

YB here, and a massive shout out to both TC and CD guilds and players. This has been one of the best matchups I’ve ever had the pleasure of participating in. CD I’ve come to think of as the closest competitor we’ve had since our Tier 4 days of SoR-V.1 – all of our matches have been great. TC – when you guys roll – you roll – not only do you guys bring the numbers most of the time, you also bring the pain with or without them. FA is probably a stronger candidate for solid Tier 3 status than either CD or YB atm, but I suspect we’ll take turns moving up and down 3/4 for a while until the situation changes again – which it always seems to do. MAD PROPS ALL!

Truth! CD and YB will probably be trading places tier 3/4 for the next few coming weeks. FA or TC will have a chance to move up to tier 2 depending on how close the matches are in tier 2 (if they are one sided by having a tier 1 drop down to 2 it makes it easier).

YB, FA and CD are imo rivals because it seams our scores have been very close (CD beat us YB out a few weeks ago because it was basically 1v1 and there coverage was polar opposite of ours we learned from that , We beat out FA because again it was 1v1 and our weekend crew put in lots of hrs over night which is how CD shut us down.) next week i imagine FA is going to want revenge, CD will dominate tier 4 and bump either YB or FA back down (most likely it will be us YB because we are approaching two weeks in Tier 3 while FA had a bi this week and is gaining so many more points than anyone in Tier 3, really they are approaching TC only like 40k points behind they might end up green of tier 3 before week is over.)

aside from that its been a great week all the servers here deserve to be in top 10 servers and you should all be stoked that the match has been so savage.I wish CD could stick around i kinda dislike facing FA but maybe next week will be better than last weeks 1v1.

i don’t think anyone is moving up to tier 2. its a 100,000 point difference between TC and IoJ and this weeks match up is very tight fight for points. It could be possible but its going to be hard for TC to pull that off. YB will probably stay red as FA has a pretty sizeable gap that is going to continue to grow destroying tier 4, they might even end up top of tier 3 next week because they got this week easy will rack up quite a few points more than TC will.

played on CD BL today to try increase the divide in points to secure YB a second place finish to remain in tier 3. I imagine it does look we are hitting you from both sides but its only because we know your Oceanic will just take it all back so the more we can limit your score during NA times the harder it will be for them to bridge the gap. But i can tell you we fought off plenty in the south to keep TC from pulling a fast one on us and we often fought for the camp between us just not as much as we fought you for the bigger point tic spots.

Its the same that is going on in any other boarder lands your homeland becomes one big defend the north and push one side out that is weaker then focus other side.

A multi-projectile finisher has the same effect as a projectile finisher, but only 20% chance of applying the effect.

so its not 2 combo finishes its one at 20% so one every 5 attacks on average. not very impressive when the only field you can apply yourself is your burst.

you want major Precision minor power and condition, why because when you crit it does a base 150% bonus weapon damage + max weapon damage (not random min:max). the higher your crit the more traits/sigils you proc which are a big part of builds. don’t worry about crit damage% you won’t near what you get just base 150% i think in full zerker exotic gear my ranger had like 100% that’s only like 2/3 increase, I gained more off of having major power than the what the minor crit damage% gave me with such low minor precision.

condition damage is ok not exceptional, it ignores protection boon and armor but the trade off is it can be easily removed with utility skills, that means you want to constantly apply them which is great because sword does a good job with that being 2 of its auto attack stack 2 bleeds each. along with being highly mobile it does good damage burst and damage over time only if you trait it properly, better than 80% other classes melee weapons can do as far as equal mobility and damage.

rifle is probably one of the best ranged skill sets in the game. bow for sieges or pve for targets that don’t move or are very predictable.

rifle for zerg and roaming around WvW, why because it has great burst and single target damage, AoE are easy to dodge out of and the bow just doesn’t do the burst damage compared to rifle, it might have better conditional damage because burn>bleeds but bleeds are more consistant with rifle compared to a skill on 6 sec cooldown with the bow. in those 6 sec you can apply 8 bleeds auto with rifle compared to 2 sec burn with fan of fire. i also don’t like bow skill arcing arrow is super easy to dodge in WvW. i only use bow to AoE people on walls or siege equipment when defending, other than that it gets out classed by rifle skills which provide better burst and conditions like vuln and bleeds, bonus 15sec knockback skill is gravy.

@Schwahrheit: What did you do for the next 40 to 70 seconds of that video while your stuff was all on cooldown? Some people (maybe even most) think that this build or any other build is only viable if its about big red numbers, killing fast, etc. I guess you are one of those people. For me this build is nice because I can solo and only a few classes totally destroy me (looking at you d/d elementalists), and if I’m in a group or simply running with the zerg I’m quite useful.

when i encounter the rare D/D ele that wrecks me, its usually because they have very good timing with magnetic aura on my volly or killshot. i have since waited till i have downed them before i use volly or killshot, stay at range with rifle and stack bleeds when you see him switch earth , gap close and try to melee till they switch atune again (they are pretty quick so its hard a lot of times i wont get any damage because he dodges) seam to do the trick and in a few sec later they go back to fire or water.

in earth mode they have stupid protection and reflect projectile aura’s, but always remember bleeds and condition ignore protection boon and armor so don’t volly till after aura and focus on stacking bleeds to ignore the protection. i also save most my condition removal for fire mode because burning sucks.

Thanks Ryx, but Schwahrheit is entitled to his opinion. And obviously my build would be mediocre against him…..

Praxis, you will be completely unimpressed with the dolyak regen as it it literally 30 health a second….(may have changed but last I checked). Sounds great on paper but the key to the Yojack Build is it isn’t based on theorycraft. Its tested and works in real time actual gameplay and if played effectively by someone who understands the build, game mechanics and overall team oriented play, the Yojack Build is a great spec and can be used as the core for MANY effective variations based on personal preference or playstyle.

a better choice if they want more health regen per sec is to use mango pies is around ~89 health per sec with 70+ vit as well at 25.8k health i regen ~300hp a sec with mango pies and signet of healing, adrenaline at full is another 285+ every 5sec. Rune of Soldier is just too good for condition removal to pass up.

if you like constant uptime on fury and swiftness you have choose the right class. if you want to just want to pwn people and be in general annoying class to deal with go thief.

all in all the top 3 classes for mobility are thiefs, ele, warriors. we each have great gap closers and while the other two classes have 25% passive runspeed with traits, we get 100% uptime swiftness with warhorn and signet of rage with lots of boon duration% and greatsword/sword for great mobility skills.

i love playing my warrior and have ruined a few thiefs but still find them to be the hardest class to 1v1 in WvW, mesmers a close second but they don’t rely on damage more than just confusing you with illusions which isn’t hard to determine which the real one is with conditions going.

other than that about 10% of the time you will find an ele who will just dominate you with d/d build and using aura for fury. but i feel like ele’s have a high skill cap so its not every one that can really dominate in WvW but you will encounter the ones that can shut groups of people down and are great killing siege with AoE.

wouldn’t recommend Ranger i had one when i started my first lvl80 and intill they patch them its just no where near the burst of rifle for ranged combat and warrior does way more melee damage and higher health pool. the trade off is range the rangers get 1500 with traits but it doesn’t make up for lack of burst.

if you think rifle sucks , go play a ranger and use a shortbow….. you will find out real quick how much better the rifle is for warriors than many other classes ranged weapons. the utility is amazing and the burst is top 5 for ranged weapon skill sets easy.

How2get 100% critical chance: Unsuspecting Foe

Signets with the precision mastery is a waste. There is NO viable build in PvP that can make use of that mastery.

At least to me it seems like its 100% with my builds regarding Unsuspecting Foe.

i have 97% crit chance (full rampager exotic , 5% sigil of accuracy in offhand ,10% for sword trait + 100% uptime on fury for another +20%) and am glad i do. most people don’t relize when you crit it is always with the highest weapon damage of your current weapon, if you don’t crit you get random number between you weapon damage with min:max the power added in. if you crit you get crit damage multiplier + auto highest weapon damage + power.

this is why i prefer crit chance > crit damage. people can be fine with 55% crit chance but i still think i do more damage with near 100% crit chance simply because my hits average much higher damage over fights than lower crit chance and a roll with random number generator minus all the useful crit procs from traits/sigils.

people seam to be happy with doing slightly more crit damage % (minimum 150% base + critical damage % tops 80+ extra precent isn’t anywhere near what you get just minimum) but criting 40% less and random weapon damage associated with noncrits. A critical hit is always based on max weapon strength (thus max attack power pretty much negating weapon damage min:max).

How Much Crit % is Needed?

shout warrior with full rampager gear + sigil of accuracy on offhand + 10% sword trait + constant fury = 97% crit chance.

the more the better, crits proc useful sigils + i enjoy the 66 percent heal on omnomberry pies whit extra 70 precision. I almost never not crit with sword so i have 30 percent chance to heal 800 or a 66 percent chance to heal 500. doesn’t sound like a lot but each is on 10 sec internal cooldown so every 10 sec on average 1300k heals as long as i am hitting something every 10 sec. i don’t worry so much about crit damage% thats why i go rampagers over zerkers, because rifle and sword have great condition traits/skills and i have higher crit chance to make up for slightly less power.

again i like this because when dealing with theifs,engi,mesmer condition damage has won me most of those fights due to them stealthing/damage imune doesn’t save them, i can spot mesmers from the fake ones by my condition tics or spot them before i actually see him due to stealth culling.

this is just my opinion/play style but crit chance from rampager > crit damage from zerker. along with having more balanced power/condition damage, less power but in the long run condition damage can take advantage of the warriors amazing bleed traits and is key to fighting things you can’t always hit due to other classes utility making them untargetable/damage immune.

its funny that people are claiming we got a huge influx of people these past 2-3 weeks……. Where are all these new guilds and dedicated WvW groups, our que times have remained the same for the past 2-3 weeks if we did get a large group of transfers they are not playing WvW. And on top of that i have yet to see any new major guilds in WvW come onto our Community mumble server, the guys i see in there day in day out are the Commanders and dedicated WvW people/guilds i have seen around for weeks that where probably doing WvW before i started a month ago.

Its more important to have numbers that know how to communicate rather than just larger numbers. Yak’s has had great communication these past two weeks by getting large guilds and more players onto our Voice Communication servers to work as a server more than just as a zerg on one map. I don’t think FA has this , what FA seams to have is 3-5 Large guilds who WvW like PRO and GODS that might work together i don’t know, but if you guys made more effort to unite your Community and pull large guilds and groups into an Alliance you would have a much better go at us, your numbers are there but having instance voice communication is a huge advantage when responding to and assaulting opponents on different maps and locations, i cant tell you how happy it makes me to be with a community that gets this and has made great strides and making it very easy to register and join in the voice communication so we can be more coordinated and we still have room to improve by getting more and more people using it.

you guys are really really good defenders it took us a good solid 2-3 hrs to get your garrison last night on EB even at 0 supply you guys held it out for another hour or so. Don’t give up during the weekdays forget the score pick one map and dominate it give us hell and push us out. ET has great players too i have 1v1 a few and had my hands full (especially that mesmer that must have killed me 4 times before i finally was able to not kill myself under confusion), they are in the wrong tier and they know it but at least they haven’t given up every day i log on i see some red here and there which is great to see some people will play even as the underdog WvW hard mode.

Amazing fights this past few nights guys! really this is turning out better than CD during prime time you guys are bringing it to us!

i know weekend times are different for a lot of people. i personally can stay up till 6am still smashing on doors and upgrading. We have a very dedicated group of commanders that have amazing response times that keep the fight very close till around 2:40am(est) when we started pulling into the lead slowly, you FA guys held SM till 5:30am when we had all the other BL maps we came to finish up in EB.

Really great fights we will be seeing FA again i know it, and honestly i would rather play you guys than CD, who imo didn’t have as strong of prime NA(est) time groups as both of our servers.

Next friday is going to suck for us CD again and TC who beats up on CD, you will see us again in two weeks.

Orbs will be removed from WvW in an upcoming build.

i see a lot of people crying about this change……. Good job Anet orbs where a win more input, yes they where fun to cap and defend but the broken code and hackers just caused to much annoyance with orbs. like the stupid orb protectors that would spawn and attack the alter and npc’s was just bugged, then people swipeing orbs without taking keep or garision was the cheepest and most dishonest way to gain advantage which almost unanimously is disapproved of by the community.

people don’t see the silver lining we are getting a change later down the road with some type of new orb type objective, at the same time simplifing the game design dealing with bugs and explots in a timely manner. Yes orb explots ruin a ton of peoples time playing WvW, i am sure it was the number one gripe about the current WvW, hacking/exploiting the orb bonus was most dishonest way to gain advantage which is almost unanimously disapproved of by the community. I know my server YB would let the other server take it back if we saw someone on our server exploting the orb, because it brings no honor or pride to your server by doing it, you just make all of us look bad.

+1 Anet way to keep things improving , don’t listen to the haters they will still go after keeps and garrison without there precious orb bonuses. you fixed my major issue i had with having a good time on WvW without some script kiddy ruining the fun by giving unearned bonuses to entire servers mine or theirs. i want an even fight not a win more bonus that is exploited on almost every tier of WvW play.

Fort Aspenwood [NA] in Need of EU/Oceanic Players!

^You make an awesome point. This is an exciting time for FA. Next week, the six best servers will all be in the top two tiers. The big question will be who the next three best servers are. TC has shown they deserve to be in T3 as well as CD who are winning their T4 match. Once HoD drops down again after next week, another server will have to take its place in T3. The only two servers who have any claim to that are FA and Yaks. We haven’t played them yet (at least not in the one week format), but I think we might be the better server.

To be competitive in T3, we need to have the EU/Oceanic presence the other servers have. It is simply not the case that we are asking people to come to FA so they can fight PvDoor. We are outnumbered during those hours. You will definitely have someone to fight. As some others have mentioned, there are already people around to help you for PvE stuff. They just don’t make up the numbers necessary for taking on other T3 servers in WvW.

as a Yaker i approve this message, its going to be a fun friday since we haven’t played you guys yet. we are actively trying to recruit some EU/OC players as well, i hope we can all have some awesomely close peak hours fighting and we can gage who got the more EU/OC presence by weeks end.

Yak’s Bend is an awesome server, i am not even that guild oriented but coming on the mumble server has been a great experience during WvW for better communication. our commanders are great the guys and will jump battlefields to help and defend points with great communication as long as you ask them too. They will pull together awesome strats like this past weekend late at night getting everyone who was on the mumble at that time into golems and having mesmer port train us to nearest keep and take it under 7 min with 8 golems was a lot of fun.

all we really lack is coverage during the times when most of us are asleep. Near zero wait times during these past two weeks (except friday when switches happen) is another big plus for guilds or groups who are thinking of switching servers especially during non peek hours we still have a decent sized night crew that remains after peek hours.

Yak’s Bend is the place for you in WvW even if you don’t have anyone else to transfer with you can still join us in on awesome close battles we are having in tier 4, hopefully moving up next week because we keep improving as a community.

Why don’t you guys double team CD? It’s not a dirty way to win, the only dirty way to win is hacking. One of you contact the other and get some teamwork going.

team up isn’t the problem, its all our servers seam to have different prime time’s for players. from my experience YB has taken back there boarderlands every night, it has taken pretty much all day with the few CD and DH that will hold down defensivly, the matches this past weekend where the closest we got to having each of our servers having a large amount of players on around the same time to make it a very close match, and it was a lot of fun, then weekdays hit and everyone has work and is in different time zone’s so they have larger numbers at different times of day leading to large amounts of PvD, with a few defenders from other servers. Again this is just my experience on YB boarder lands the last few nights.

i am not giving up but i know that what ever we take tonight will be gone in the morning, and it will be all green from players half way around the world in a polar opposite time zone. i would like to know if the CD guys who get on when most of us North Americans are asleep are even facing any resistance at all or just steamrolling through the map?

i know there are still a decent size CD during our prime time who put up a good fight to keep us from quickly taking our stuff back, and it usually takes us all day to get it back.

i can say as far as YB goes i think we are in the right tier (4) or if we get a good match up next week with Eredon Terrace and Fort Aspenwood maybe we can break into tier (3). but right now we are dead mid pack as far as all the servers go, we have great commanders and a community mumble server to communicate we just need more people using it and logging into WvW more often.

i mostly WvW, but i would say use karma for your power tough vit gear. spend money on zerker gear or Rampagers. i like rampagers personally mostly because it has higher precision and power/condition balance with sword is great damage on bleeds and crit all the time to proc sigils and traits.

IMO vit > toughness , mostly because the more health you have the more toughness helps, but the more toughness you have doesn’t necessarily means you survive longer due to conditional damage ignoring toughness, and the way toughness is calculated in damage reduction.

i run full exotic rampagers gear with Soldier runes for my vit/toughness + condition removal. if you go full Knights you get maybe 1-2k more health and toughness but you lose out on the condition damage which is important for both sword and rifle + traits for bleed damage. You will crit less, deal less condition damage , and survive slightly better nothing you couldn’t also do by learning to dodge better or positioning will do more than the extra toughness/health.

again this is just from my experience with WvW , i am able to out survive guardians and necro’s without specing to hard into toughness and vit and useing more of the points in precision for crits and heals off blood sigils, and more damage with conditions (they can get removed but they are easily re-applied with auto-attacks or sword burst) which are very important with the traits giving more damage and longer bleeds really do give a nice increase in damage that a lot of players overlook.

it would be cool if the orbs gave random bonuses , like % condtion duration, 10% crit damage, 100+ to all stats, 10% movement speed, 10% reduced damage/extra damage and it was randomized making it harder to get a huge advantage while still keeping it an important aspect of WvW.

or make them not server wide and only map wide so the most you could have is 5% and 50 to all stats if you have the orb on your particular battleground.

as they are now its just a win more condition, that more often than not is like kicking a server when they are down and pouring salt in their wounds, or have people irate about orb hacking and such because it gives too large an advantage making for a unbalanced/aggravating experience for everyone playing.

sounds like you need to cap more camps and roll with a party. isn’t Guardian a heavy support class? its easy to find groups to attack camps in team or map chat, not only do you die much less you end up with way more drops than as a lonewolf, not to mention caping camps with groups is quick and painless. i could cap a whole camp by myself on my warrior but its annoying with the scouts blinding me constantly and half the time one or two people show up to try to stop me making me run away and having the camp reset, or wiping and not getting anything but one or two yak kills.

i haven’t spent any money on siege except for maybe 1 or 2 flame rams when i first started playing WvW. when caping camps always kill yaks for event and guild supervisor for badge drops, occasionally the vets will drop plans i had one drop an alpha golem for me the other day.

really one cap of a camp generally will net you 2-4 silver , when i die i am out like 1.2 silver so this easily covers my repair cost by killing a few yaks or caping a camp (often you can kill yaks and cap camp at the same time). Sure i could be making faster money else where but i have yet to go in the red due to WvW. i have around 340 badges right now and haven’t decided if i should use them for accessories or plans, mostly because i have plenty of karma and gold for gear and i get plenty of free plans from jumping puzzles and drops off npc’s in camps. i rarely drop siege unless i am defending most the time people drop cata’s and rams when with large groups so i never really use mine unless its a small group and they are being slow, if that is the case most the time i just skip it and hit camps while they bring down wall slowly and come back when more progress is being made or they get driven back to defense.

its been a fun week. CD you guys deserve the win, mostly because of the coverage. Its just very depressing to win everything back at night Eastern time and wake up to a full green YB map every single weekday, o well nothing we can really do about the coverage except wait for next week and hope the prime times match more closely to NA time for closer weekday battles.

this halloween stuff is probably not helping everyone get more people on the battlefield for closer battles either.

How do u get 100% uptime on swiftness? Sorry I’m new

Check out Yojack’s thread currently on the 3rd page of warrior forums. you trait 30 into Tatics giving 300 vit and 30% boon duration. I run warhorn off hand. so i use skill 4 grants swiftness to nearby allies and cures cripple/imob/chilled. this gains me 13sec swiftness on a 16sec cooldown due to specing tatics warhorn cooldowns are 20% and warhorns convert condtions to boons, this is superb condition removal two skills on 16 sec cooldown. Then you have your best elite skill in the warrior class at this time Siginet of Rage, it gives 39sec of fury and swiftness on a 60sec cooldown. so basicly what i do is stack duration on boons of fury and swiftness with both warhorn ,sig of rage, and “for great Justice” as a utility skill for more might and constant fury (i have gear and fury to give me 96% crit chance its rare that i don’t crit with sword or 10% more likely because of traits with rifle.

i run 0/25/15/30/0 shout warhorn conditon removal build with full rampagers gear because its has the most precision granting me the highest crit chance to give me decent healing with blood sigils. in my experience its better at handling guardians necro’s and theifs than raw burst because not only do you crit more when you can hit them you also buff your condtion/power about the same making it far more balanced with dealing with high toughness/vit players(guaridian/necro) or players who stealth or confuse a lot (mesmers/theifs) when you can’t always hit them conditions are the way to go they ignore toughness and are a pain making them waste skills to remove.

Soldier runes for (vit/thoughness) + shouts removing condtions, so basically 5 skills on my bar will remove conditions, some have a chance of removing 2 at a time and 2 will grant boons based on what is removed. i have sigils of blood giving 30% chance to gain life on crit, i also get food off TP to give me 60% chance on crit to gain health and it also gives +70 prec. i run traits to gain life off adrenaline levels , i run pve signet of healing, all passive healing or on crit healing stuff adds up to massive heals over time, and shouts granting instant 1.1k heals on a 25sec cooldown is enough to keep me at the front of the zerg longer and have the swiftness to run out of combat using sword leap and running and back in to the fray if i get too low on health in no time. i love this build in WvW because i am quick and mobile with tons of passive heals and condtion removal to make me semi tanky and able to handle 2 lower level players at a time , and one time even 1v3 kiteing the theif till he was alone droping him turning on his friends and dominate them all they where probably all lower level/gear players though but it was a rush. the amount of heals and condition removal is a though combo to drop for a lot of classes who really rely on specific conditions to cause you trouble, stuns / slows are easily removed when running from out numbered fights in amazing ways. i just love this style of play that has burst (its not the best but all around balanced) all the while huge boon abuse and plentiful condition removal to get out of those sticky situations.

if you like 100% uptime on fury and swiftness, roll a warrior with boon duration traits.

there are builds that work in pvp, but unlike other classes we are not a dominate class in sPVP or tPVP, but in WvW we have the distinct advantage of having great boon duration and utility skills to keep our boon’s up.

i have a ranger lvl 80 my first main, got depressed at the situation they are in (they are aparently getting redone a little next major patch), rolled a warrior and have been having a great time getting around pve to lvl after lvl30 when you get elite’s, and in WvW i have no problems going 1v1 with other lvl 80 classes or 1v2 for the under lvl70 if they are not too skilled. thiefs can get me off guard and have just as much chaseing gap closers.

wouldn’t play sPVP with the class but for PvE and WvW its a very fun class and the rifle skill set is one of the best ranged skill sets in the game also with some amazing trait’s for bleeds that no other class can match which grants great damage to rifle auto and sword auto imo.

i don’t know if i can roll another class in WvW without 100% uptime on swiftness i have been spoiled with my warrior.

i love WvW with my warrior, support shout build 0/25/15/30/0. Removes conditions so i can run for days, swiftness and fury 24/7 +5-11 stacks of might. i can 1v2 most under 80’s and have good 1v1 equal skill/lvl fights with anything but theif and necro. zerging i provide nice buffs with warhorn and debuff weakness at 1200 is a pretty bug debuff for the enemy zerg, group heals on shout is at least 600-700 range i often see my whole screen light up in green small heals sure it might not be more than other classses AoE heals but i still enjoy seeing everyone around me get healed instantly.

Most of your guys points are valid, close range combat skills need a buff our lack of combat finisher is stupid, the adrenaline abilities needs reworking, except for maybe axe and rifle they are in a pretty good spot, sword could be better if it was quicker or did more burst damage, while keeping the same bleed stacks. i wish adrenaline abilities functioned more like finishers and when enemies where in down state it gave huge bonuses on damage to them or something to make it worth it to use up the adrenaline to quickly finish that guy off so you can deal with his buddy hitting you in the back.

havent played much sPVP or tPVP with warrior , cause thats not really my thing i love the huge scale battles and sieges, not the same old stuff other games have done and honestly implemented slightly better. i have a feeling when they made most of the gear the same it will show glaring mistakes with game balance which seams like most of the complaints on this post have been about. If you hate it but love playing warrior i can see how you would be frustrated. but for pve and WvW its not bad at all and could be a lot worse like rangers, i honestly think rifle is a better range skill set than either longbow or shortbow for ranger, ranger has to get two different traits for 20%cooldown and piercing, we get it in one trait, and our bleeds are constant not just from behind or side shots.

love your build Yojack. I agree with your decision to go for Rampager for high precision and power/condition damage, i think what a lot of people do is think the more damage you can do burst wise the better. But from experience i find it the other way since you won’t always be hitting your target because dodge/out of range having ticks of Condition damage often can seal fights in your favor, because lets face it your enemy isn’t going to stand there like some practice golem and let you burst him down, the smart ones will be dodge rolling ,range and kiting and so on.

one question though, why go mending over the signet passive, we already have so much condition removal that it is bordering on overkill. in long fights which happen quite a lot i prefer the passive heals even if they are not as strong simply for the fact i won’t have to spend cast time to heal when i could be doing damage and using instant shout for condition removal. in long fights i really do prefer the passive heals because psychologically the enemy will think they are just not doing enough damage to you and will run sooner in my experience, also in the 1v2 fights i often have my hands full with just doing enough damage if i would try to cast a heal i feel like they are doing enough damage that it was just a heal wasted because in that one sec they have done roughly 3/4 what that heal gave me (4k-6k damage in a sec is easy with 2 people on you).

I find i am doing more ranged burst/bleed stack than my lvl80 Ranger with full exotic Zerker gear/amulets, mainly cause shortbow is 50/50 with bleed stacking in WvW almost unreliable in solo fights when the enemy is facing you. Its sad but after playing both Ranged warrior > Ranged ranger. some times when i know they are rangers instead of just killing them with my sword i will play the range game and still out burst them, while wiping away there conditions better than they can mine.

again thanks for the build, i love playing WvW again when i was really starting to hate it with my Ranger, and how quickly i would die. now i have enough lasting power to run back from zerg out of combat and quickly run back in with full health all buffs.
