The revenant has a lot of potential. DPS is low atm, but we don’t have all the weapons, traits or legends that will be available. I get that.
The one problem I see on the revenant is tying energy and a CD to weapon skills. Thieves have their skills tied to an energy-like idea (initiative). BUT, they do not have any CD on their weapon skills, and none of their utilities are tied to initiative. WHY THEN DOES THE REVENANT HAVE THEM BOTH????
My suggestion is this….
Have the weapon skills tied to one or the other (energy or CD).
If they are tied to energy, then energy creation has to be buffed, or energy use has to go down. Maybe the 3rd part of the #1 skill could give extra energy. I am certain there will be a trait that will give energy on skill use in the future (there had better be at least).
Or, have the CD reduced as energy goes up.
This would obviously have to be traited in, but I think that this would be a viable thing. The more you just autoattack, the faster your skill’s CD goes away. Mesmers have some similar traits like this now and I see no problem in this change.
OR YOU COULD JUST HAVE NORMAL COOLDOWNS ON WEAPON SKILLS LIKE EVERY OTHER CLASS AND NOT GET CUTE TRYING TO TIE EVERYTHING TO ENERGY

Why should the Mesmer get any special treatment just because you have 3 other clones that look and act just like you do. SO WHAT.
If you don’t like the supply thingy…DONT GET THE SUPPLY.
I suppose that one of our masteries will be boon duration and condi duration.
That would work, and would not take the slot of another stat.
I still don’t like that the durations didn’t get a bump if they took all boon duration trait lines out of the game. I think that is why people are dying faster in pvp and wvw. We don’t get the protection duration unless we run the runes, but they suck otherwise and people LOVE Hoelbrak, because of the 20% condi duration decrease, so they get a 35% Might increase.
I like the new patch. It gave more builds a viability. It gave more variability. It gave a lot of things that made this good game better.
What it took away was A LOT of boon duration.
With the patch, ANET raised all base stats, but they did not raise boon duration, unless it was a shadow raising. Even healing got a boost, but boon duration and condi duration did not.
The only current ways to increase boon duration are food and runes. Maximum I could find is 55% condi duration and 55% boon duration using a combo of runes and food.
PLZ ANET: GIVE US A VISIBLE BOON DURATION PERCENTAGE OTHER THAN WHAT FOOD AND RUNES GIVE YOU.
Let’s all admit that we wait for Teq for 30 minutes. Some of us just want something to do for that 30 minutes that doesn’t involve arguing with the trolls that seem to be posting on this forum saying they don’t want to be bothered, they want to be the botherer.
I was wondering if, with this new xpac, we would finally get to use the Xulai Electrum Ingots and Crystalline Ore and Ingots.
And also as a forecasting of those things to come, maybe they will be used for crafting some ascended trinkets, or the next set of legendaries!?!

The difference between pve zone duels and pvp zone duels is armor, stats, and weapons. They are higher, more varied and more potent in pve. Pvp stats only reach 49% crit rate and 200% crit, but in pve I can get to 230% crit and 90% rate. In pvp, the most condi I can get to is 1500, but in pve I can get it up to 2000.
I know WvW exists for the roamers, but what if I (on Blackgate) wanted to duel someone on Henge of Denravi? One of us would have to change worlds just for the opportunity. THAT IS 1600 GEMS PEOPLE. 20$ US. UH UH.
I played Runes of Magic a long time ago. They had open world dueling, and it worked just as the OP proposed. There wasn’t that much dueling request spam. You mostly dueled your friends, just to say “HAHAHA I TROLLED YOUR KITTEN.”
I would welcome open world dueling and +1 the OP. THANK YOU FOR YOUR CONSTANT THOUGHTS ON HOW TO IMPROVE THE GAME FOR FUTURE PLAYERS. As opposed to the mainstream player who wants to keep it the same bc that is how GW2 has always done it.
Runes of Magic… mmorpg…was F2P as well as every expansion that existed in game was free to download and play….granted it was a kitteny game to begin with but that is beside the point. YOU ASKED I DELIVERED.
Also, I do believe that the Mistfire Wolf was part of the original game pre-order package. And a hat too!?!
Anyways preorder the game. They don’t pay the devs until the publisher gets paid so do it in a steady wave until launch.

I cant even get past a loading screen without this happening. Every time I log in, I get the character screen, hit the character I want, and then – BOOM – client crash on a loading screen for Heart of the Mists.
guild stash is easily fixed by limiting the ranks allowed to get into and withdraw from stash.
You should sink if you get hit while on top of the water….so you can use skills then.
New dungeon perhaps?
Something based on Mordremoth?
The Tengu have been absent from LA for a while now. They live in the jungle with Modremoth. How about a 2-H axe for a weapon huh?
DONT START ON YOUR LEGENDARY UNTIL YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE IN GAME. You will just get frustrated by the cost and time requirements.
The only other thing I would suggest is to get into some pvp. It’ll improve your skill timing and knowledge base of your class if you have a reactionary target instead of a static one like in pve. Just don’t do solo join or team join pvp as you will be behind the 8 ball and get stomped a lot.
A guild is a good place to start b/c they can give you tips and won’t grumble if you wanna tag along on a dungeon run. Plus, if they do guild missions, you have easier access to lvl 80 gear.
Just as an aside, you probably picked one of the harder classes to excel in. I LOVE ELE, but it takes some getting used to in pvp and dungeons as the group expects a lot of you.
And as far as crafting goes…buy your stuff from the heart vendors. about every 10 lvl get new stuff and chuck the old. You get tons of karma later on with which to buy your exotic gear. Plus you save all of your gold. The one crafting discipline I would get into is chef. Food can get crazy expensive, but the mats are easily found anywhere.

Just thinking the other day, but I’ve been playing the same account for almost 2 years now ( started in beta). That means an anniversary is coming up. Any leaks or thoughts on the goodies in store?
What I don’t understand about this is…
I’ve done the DNS change; I’ve done the host change; I’ve been working until today’s patch and now it won’t work.
Sounds like Anet is blaming the problem on Verizon, but they are really the problem.
This is an exploitable bug , probablybeen reported b4 and not a good one to report as it will not help engi’s if fixed but,
When using the #1 skill under Flamethower, if you stand perfectly still and fire at the target, the dps you have will always increase, not restart at base lvl. I got to 45k per hit on the golem champ. Shame on you engi’s if you haven’t reported this yet.
This may have been asked already, and I am hoping it has been tested profusely….
Does the new “Triumphant Distortion” trait proc the “Masterful Reflection” trait?
And is it anything worth looking into?

So….I was playing around testing builds on my lvl 2 ranger in the pvp lobby against the class masters. Since it was a new toon, I only had the armor of a lvl 2. I was using the current meta of spirit ranger…~2.2k armor…and the engi, in what I hope was a double crit, hits me for 17.2k total from a single jump shot. DEAD ME. I have reported this with screen shots of my armor and the hit readout to anet. Unfortunately, I did not screen shot it for this forum. You’ll just have to believe me I guess. But what I then did is go to the highest armor rating I can think to achieve on a ranger…3.4k…and try again. The engi then hit me for 12.1k with a jump shot.
Either the armor, i.e. shoulders, headgear, gloves, not being present made a HUGE difference. Or Jump Shot is WAAAAAAYYYYY WAAAAYYYYY over-powered. 17K? For real?

In my opinion, ele and engi (I run both) do not need anymore slots. We technically have 4-6 weapons, depending on 1-2 handed weapons (with attunement and kit changes), where other classes have a max of 4. Not to mention the swap sigils also proc on using conjured weapons for eles.

Would Unholy Sanc have any synergy with the new Unholy Martyr (5% DS pool for every condi consumed every 3 sec from 5 other toons)? That means every 3 sec you get up to 25% life force.
Seems to me you pop into DS, stay in for as long as your pool lasts, Consume conditions, back into DS. Just wondering.
Granted this means going deep into a non DS trait line but still…

Mist Form does not block condi dmg btw, so it is exactly like Endure Pain.
I have over 500+ fractals under my belt, with almost all of them lvl 28-50. I have received exactly 1 Fractal skin and 0, I said 0, chests of any sort. I stopped playing FOTM out of frustration bc I was not getting any chests, or, like some of you have said, a ring made only for the most noobish of players (tough, hp, cond…. I mean who plays with that).
I would like it if Axe would hit in an arch style, instead of single target, like all other Axe wielding professions. Going thru a zerg and applying vulner to everyone you meet would be nice. Shorten the range a bit and make it the melee weapon it is meant to be for pete’s sake.

and if superior sigil of leeching works with changing attunements like all other weapon swaps do.
