I am far from closed minded, I understand why some people are not upset, I don’t agree but I understand. Just as I understand why people are upset (multiple reasons) and agree with some, not all.
I unlike you have stated several times each and everyone of us have the right to believe what we like, we have the right to our opinions. I also unlike yourself have not tried to shove my opinion down peoples throats, I have disagreed and explained my reasoning, I have even corrected people on both sides of the fence when they are using misinformation.

I’m quite annoyed that these $50 threads overshadowed the current spot light of this week: Guild Hall.
The annoyance could have not only been stopped, it could have been prevented over 24 hours ago. This is a direct result of a community outcry and having it completely ignored.
This should have been an exciting moment in GW2 history, its going to be memorable, but for all the wrong reasons because of the lack of communication.
All i see here are drones that allow Anet to kitten them up the kitten and, like all the little idiots here, refuse to understand why we’re upset and simply write it off as “moaning, kittening and self entitlement”.

Sure I did. Just like I preordered the second Lord of the Rings movie on DvD before I saw it. I know its’ Lord of the Rings. I know the director. I wanted the set.
I don’t need a release date, because I’m not impatient. I’ll play it when it’s here. I know the features I’ve seen will give me entertainment. If I get 50 hours at of the expansion and I’m sure I will get at least that much, that means I’m paying 1 buck an hour for entertainment. That is logic.
50 hours what it is call of duty? the game keep for 3 years 0,04 euros per day, and from what we have seen untill now the HOT is hugh.

Gaile did address players about it saying they’re looking at feedback. It just doesn’t seem to be the answer players are looking for though.

I know WvW they will probably not but I think stronghold and guild halls require HoT. You could be right but from what I’ve read the guild halls lie in the jungle and I don’t think you can access the jungle without HoT. Like I said you could be right.

Honestly I don’t see why people are complaining. I have spent hours having tons of fun in guild wars 2 and I know I am going to get lots of hours of fun from the expansion. $50 is not that bad especially considering I’ll play this way more then I would play any other $50 game.

Vets are not owed anything. they paid for the core game and enjoyed it or not. If you feel that you need more info to pre-purchase then don’t.
If you have no faith in the title then don’t buy it. You can wait till it comes out and watch lets plays and review.

As annoying as the white knights are, they are still entitled to their opinion, it’s when they try and cram it down your throat that they need to be in check. Just as we are entitled to ours (that many of them and us for that matter seem to forget).
Warranted, unwarranted, delusional, sane, it doesn’t matter. We are all entitled to feel “ripped off” or “100% satisfied” but in the end there is still a fire spreading that no one seems to be trying to put out.

Back in May during the Paid mods Crisis on Steam, within 24 hours, even when he was away on a business trip, Gabe was online working with outraged players to correct the issues.
That is how a corporation should handle outraged consumers.
In that time period Skyrim had become one of the lowest rated games on steam due to how angry we all were. and the issue was solved within 1-3 days. yet here we are on day 3 and have not heard a peep from arena net….
Thats what everyone is saying, that the Dlc is tied to the “free” core game, thats why they can not just drop the core game or let us give the core game to someone else.

So yeah, I wanna know why we have heard nothing from Anet on the problems we have with this Pricing model, and the other issues we have. Some of the forum mods have commented but none of those comments have addressed our concerns as the players of this game.

It’s not just balance issues. It’s a new extremely restrictive rework of the entire trait system.
I do agree that the lying/false advertisement are more severe problems. But the upcoming update will have a noticeable impact on every active player. This mess with HoT preorders isn’t hard to overlook if for those with no intention of preordering.

During the whole paid mod scandal back in may, they had the problems addressed and fixed within 1-2 days, and Gabe the head of Valve was personally working with his customers to fix the issue.

Okay. Let’s talk. AAA games like Order: 1884, and others have less than 20 hours of content, yet cost 60 dollars. But, I hear you screaming, ‘I can return it to gamestop for money when I’m done!" Fine, total cost 30 dollars. So, HoT has to have more than 40 hours of content to be a good deal, right? 40 hours=20 times 2. 30 times 2=60. HoT=50. But HoT has to have more than 40 hours of content. So 50 dollars doesn’t seem like that bad a deal, if you put it into perspective. I’ve played this game A LOT. I’ve gotten my money’s worth. I think anet would be wise to add a free character slot to the 50 dollar option, tho.

When we bought GW2, the promise was that we were buying a complete game to play, and what they have shown us simply does not look like a complete game, or at least that much worth of content. I’ll be happy to pay $50 for the XPac, as long as ANet proves I’m getting $50 in value. Tell me how much story I’m getting. Tell me how much new world I’ll get to explore. Tell me SOMETHING more than “You get way less than GW2, for the same price.”
We got to kill 1/6 elder dragons and are given 2/3 of the 2nd, then oh would you look at that we need to pay to finish the game.

No, HoT is the expansion continued off of the ending of S2. S3 will come after HoT
Based on your logic we should get the story for free, a good example of a real world problem is a book ending its series. Do you want the book for free? Sure everyone would like that but you would be just as happy to pay for the book to learn the ending of the series.
