It only looks that way because Jalis (drawf stance) is already unlocked at the start of the game. The extra ‘utility’ on the others is just to unlock the stance, not skills.
Until all my characters have the requiste gear from each dungeon I’ll still be doing them. Only halfway there. Although my elementalist will have cultural armour because Tengu wont look right in dungeon sets
Thats good news, although I already used most of my gold to level crafting onmy engineer. I remember it being a lot cheaper to buy on the TP so I think I made a few mistakes. Not too bad, since it looks like Im a long way from any goals.
I think I will probably save up gold to buy the anomaly for my Mesmer and just keep going naturally till I have more gold saved up.
Im still feeling a bit too rusty to try out any dungeons again yet, might try a n00b friendly group first, or even story mode to gauge how dull my skills actually are.
Hi all
With all the marketing around the new expansion and time to actually play I was looking to get back into the game. I was a bit overwhelmed at first as I have played since first few months of release.
Im getting back into things but wanted to see if things were still the same for crafting legendaries and if people still ran dungeons regularly. I am out of practice but I think I’ll need to run Ascalon catacombs quite a bit for the armour for my Guardian. I think I either lost/used tokens since i still have 600+ from sorrows furnance for engineer gear, but no tears
Regarding the crafting my guild bank was empty, but one of my characters still had some of the gifts I think I needed. I was looking to create the rifle (Predator) and the Hammer (the Juggernaut)
This is what I have currently:
Gift of Knowledge, Metal, Wood, Forgeman, Exploration, Mastery
250 Silver Doubloons
78 Mystic Clovers
100 Icy Runestones
Superior Sigil of benevolence & Force
164 Mystic coins
157 Obsidian shards
392 Globs of ectoplasm
250 Orichalcum Ingots
250 Orrian Truffles
75 Vicious Fangs
105 Vicious Claws
80 Vials of Powerful Blood
130 Elaborate Totems
78 Armored Scales
93 Ancient Bones
115 Piles of Crystalline Dust
81 Powerful Venom Sacs
Most other things I only had a few of, so I assumed they either weren’t needed for the crafting process, or were rare. I only have about 30 gold at the moment so I just wondered what was the best procedure so far. I don’t remember farming for materials, I just kept what I picked up.
Any pointers would be appreciated.!
I have always joked that the stairs are the real enemy when fighting alpha, but in your case it may actually be the room. Does the same thing happen in the centre of the room as well?
I saw some groups offering Arah path 2 for 2-3 gold, which I thought was odd, until I saw a LFG post offering 4G!
I don’t think its doing anything illegal though. Personally I don’t see the point, but it doesent affect my game, so good luck to them.
Ive been taking a bit of a break, but still far away from my goal. I decided to get gifts for both Predator and Juggernaut at the same time. Im missing all the lodestones for the two gifts and I need about 2/3’s of the tier 6 mats. Oh yeah and the precursor . . .
I did that part on my new Ranger along with a Guardian and we failed about 4-5 times. I think our best was 20% health left. I thought it had changed slightly, but normally I have a group to uncontest so never had to fight with less than 3 minimum.
I think it a morale issue. I ran it with a guild group yesterday. Path 1, no problems, smooth run. Decided to do path 2 as well, didn’t go so well :p.
Funnily enough I made a mistake right at first alpha fight and died in first 10 secs (dodge fail into block) It was the fact that people went down so much that sapped their enthusiasm. Once you go down in some of the fights there isnt much time to recover unless you know the timings. I’ve ran it quite a lot and I can still have a bad day. I still love it though
These questions may sound insensitive, but its more for clarification. It obviously upset you a lot since it was your first post on the forum, so please don’t think I do not believe your story. I just like having additional facts before I make a judgement.
Was it definately one of their members that did the initial request to kick?
Did you try messaging any of party afterwards, including the non guild member to see if they were also kicked?
Why were you taking screenshots halfway through? It just seems a bit odd to me. I can understand taking some nice shots, but the one you took didnt appear to be that kind of picture.
It just seems odd that they would chat openly in party chat without seeming to hide anything just to then kick you at the end to bring in a friend. They could have talked in guild chat, skype, etc if they were planning that.
I think its more of a problem of the environment you are fighting them. In free space you can focus them down, but that can be difficult if people are also being feared, poisoned, etc at the same time.
Haha I havent done story in months and I thought this was quite tough. I never noticed the acolytes at the start and went afk after clearing part of the area. Came back and was dead along with NPC’s, but lots of risen!
Broke every piece of armour but I managed to kill the acolyte in time and all his friends went poof. Courtyard literally went from being choked with undead to a day out in the park. Was actually kind of fun.
Sounds like there might be a few missing from one of the maps. Can you take a screenshot of your overall completion in the top left corner?
Also, with the maps themselves, have you completed each of the four borderlands in WvW? From what you describe as missing, it sounds like a full zone is unexplored.
I would say this is correct. It would be pretty conincidental to have the exact number of of POI’s, vistas and SP’s needed for a borderland map, but not have that be the issue.
The only other thing I can suggest is listing all the maps and checking if you are missing any. If you only have one character then also check your achievements tab. If it says something like Shiverpeaks explorer 154/174 you must be missing a zone there, etc.
When I am finally able to craft the predator and the juggernaut I will be very grateful if I can just buy the underwater ones.
Originally I wanted Bifrost, but now I just want The Juggernaut and The Predator for my Warrior. Once Ive collected all the mats I’ll have to decide if I spend future gold on the precursors, or getting The Anomaly and Whisperblade for my mesmer.
There are a set of portals near the big statue that take you back too all the main cities
I already finished Arah paths 1 to 3. I farmed enough in Arah for the Arah armor. But I refuse to touch path 4 because everyone in my guild said it was brutal time wise. I do not have 4+ hours to burn on this, with the risk of failing and not getting anything.
Just the thought of a 4+ hour long dungeon (success not guaranteed) turns me away. I am not even going to attempt it until it gets changed. It got nothing to do with my player skills, which is very decent btw.
In the mean time, I will wvw with those precious 2 hours that I got.
Why dont you actually try the path first? Maybe your guild mates are wrong. Going by your logic casual players should also give up on WvW. Sometimes you have to queue so they might as well not bother. Otherwise they might be wasting time. They should also get rid of Fractals full stop.
I love CoE. My Warrior has a full set and I like completing it on both my mains (other is a Mesmer). I actually got my full set when Bjarl was still bugged and most groups only ran path 2&3. I even ran path 1 anyway just for fun.
I’ve seen groups advertise this on the LFG site, however it makes it clear that it costs you. If people want to pay then all the best to them.
Im having the same issue with two characters. The other two are fine. Both are now trapped in Lions Arch with no hope of rescue.
edit: after multiple attempts I managed to get on with one character. Kept crashing to character screen though

I completed AC with my 31 Warrior along with another warrior, two engineers and a ranger I think it was. Just a PUG from the entrance. One engineer was higher level everyone else was 30-34. Got wiped by pulling two groups at once early on, but still made it through fairly easily. Main issue is leadership. We died early on because people rushed and didn’t think. Once we organised a little better we progressed onwards. Still didn’t quite work (still managed to fight in corridors, etc I suggested to avoid), but we managed it.
Lovers were still a pain, but we actually killed them pretty quickly. knockbacks seemed to help, but I thought it had been toned down since I ran it last. I was even using a rifle/signet build I hadn’t even tried before. Pretty much a ranged group, but we did okay.
I don’t think storymode is too difficult but that is my impression of AC and CM so not sure what the rest are like.
Yeah Im not really sure how survivor is calculated. It was stuck on 35K for me and I didn’t die, but I didn’t go up either. Whether I did personal story/crafting/general roaming.
I was under the impression that the figure was from a time I died and forgot, but I counted from when I logged on and I levelled several times without death and still it didn’t improve.
Then I went to AC . . . so yeah :p
You should read the Guild Wars 2 Roleplayers website. That should help you find guilds, events, etc
I ran into some difficulty with this quest. I am not the best player, but I hold my own and couldn’t beat him when I ran into him. It can be the set of skills you are using. I had a heavy control build (m/s & hammer) which is fine for most things but not a regenerating warrior partially immune to control abilities.
You might find it easier to use a rifle and kite him to death. Rytlock will help you kill him, but they key is to keep him away from you. I suggest not running into the main sewer as that made him invulnerable when I fought him with my control build. not sure if this is intended or a bug.
I always revive people as I played DAoC as my first MMORPG and it was a pain to die and leave a tombstone. People even yelled for help as you lost a bit of exp as well when you died.
I’ve just posted in other thread about AC, it is pure disappointment. Explore mode was impossible to finish (Asura path) for group that had most players of lvl 50+, only I was lvl 33.
I thought explorable mode was for level 35+ players? Did they change this?
