I have the same problem. And a few friends as well.
Still have just TA armour, but is pretty enough. Hope it doesn’t matter. :x Am gonna go for T3 once I get my shiny shiny rainbow shortbow.
8/10 I like Scaitha. Suits warrior. Kinda like Scythe made all fancy!
Mine is Iriénys for my sylvari ranger.

Just opened in TC as well.
T1 medium female coat glows, if I’m not mistaken on the arms and the little flowers on the waist.
female #4 for me

@matenji I use a very very very similar build to this for PvE and dungeons. (the traits are identical to the last o.O tho the weapons and their sigils vary.). And I do pretty well I would like to say. Very survivable for sure.
Have yet to brave myself to try this in WvW tho, lol. From this video, looks pretty good. Thanks for the inspiration Xsorus.
ah cool o: makes sense, thank you for explaining.
found it
Its in a cave whose entrance is from sawtooth bay. The cave has the reef drake broodmother event (which is pure craziness o.O)
I am not one of those “pro rangers” you speak of, but I do have a similar build (PvE tho, not PvP) The gist of it is the same tho… regen ftw! Didn’t think of the the Signet of the Wild idea, gonna steal it.
Was wondering tho, do you know how often the regen would kick in?
And am confused, if troll unguent does not count as regen (I use healing spring myself – AoE vigor!) why use Dwayna? I was considering runes of the monk myself. Am still tweaking things around tho.
I wanna be the very best, like no one ever was… To catch them is my real test, to train them is my cause~~

Gotta catch them all!
Want please! which part of Southsun is it in?
I’d like to know too. Was playing around with it as well, and can’t figure out how to get it to revive people (who at the time were downed, and not dead)
oh my o.O could have sworn there was nothing when I checked. Thank you very much Grit!
:) Me and my guildies like running dungeons. We succeed most of the time, and most importantly, often have fun! Something which I feel is lacking in most PUGs. I wouldn’t mind playing with you, lol. Give us a go.
Are they available in game? Can’t seem to track them down. e..g Rata Sum, Citadel.
Thanks.
Question I really want to ask about the traps is… what exactly will the bug fix be?
1. The bug was actually the cooldown, and fix will restore it back to normal?
2. Are the cooldowns actually intended to be longer, but they bugged up the two trap traits so the bug fix will so that Trap Potency and Trapper’s Expertise will work as intended? i.e. still longer cooldowns…
Some of you are saying yay, they admitted that its a bug, now stop whining. But those are two very different things and we do’t know which one they will fix…
Is the fix to fix the bugs with the trap traits, or to fix the actual cooldowns? Were the cooldowns even a bug or were they intended?

Edited to make my thoughts clearer?

For traps, the traited cool down reduction is working for me (30 sec to 24 seconds).
It’s actually not working properly if you pay close attention.
- With no trap traits, it’s 30 seconds.
- With Trap Potency slotted, which is supposed to reduce the CD by 20%, it’s still 30 seconds.
- With Trapper’s Expertise slotted, which adds ground targeting but makes no mention of CD reduction, the CD is reduced to 24 seconds.
So the overall CD has been increased, and the CD reduction is responding to the wrong trait. Two, two bugs in one!
lol… oh my… is even worse x.X
cooldown is actually 24s (traited) with all traps ._. tooltip is incorrect. they didn’t even bother to update it.
LOL, I guess that will be 4 bullet points worth of updates next patch.

Am pretty sure it looks very similar to the T3 longbow (just shorter :P) which has been posted as a screenshot on the other Cultural T3 weapon thread. If you look at the guildhead preview, the “glass” bit which is missing in the game previews are similar.
To whoever said rangers and necros are useless in dungeons, I challenge you to come and play with me.
Me and my guildies regularly run a dungeon group of 2 rangers, a necro and a mesmer (which from what I can tell, are the least popular classes for some people >.>). And we are by far not at all “useless”. Any random asked to fill up the one space are usually more than impressed. All that one needs to know is to know how to play to your strengths. Not everything is about dpsdpsdpskthxbai Sure, things can get tough if you don’t know what to expect, but you learn from it and move on.
Also, as a challenge, we tried to do Arah story with only 4 people. Necro dc’ed halfway. Us two rangers and mesmer? We rocked on. ;D
ah! Thanks.
PS mods, this can be closed if you wish, lol
I came across this pic:

From what I can tell, she’s wearing medium armour but I’ve never seen that set before. Anyone knows? Maybe one of the karma sets…? Haven’t been able to find a place that shows all the different karma sets available.
How many dungeons do you need for the monthly?
It’s worse being a sylvari ranger x.x Both our super elites are spirits, both of which are incredibly weak right now.
Arekai, I try and try to convince my guild mates that I, as a ranger, am useless. Time and time again, they convince me that I’m wrong. Rangers are not useless in dungeons or in PvE (unfortunately, can’t say for PvP since I only do occasional WvW). I do quite well, thank you very much. :P
Play the profession that you find most enjoyable. Bugs will be squashed eventually (one can hope, after all, it’s only the first two months of GW2). Have fun, and you will find a way to make it work, no matter what downsides people say there are.
I can’t stand the female sound of pain x.x
Thank you, Krimirria! It looks great. Was gonna get nightmare bow, but gonna get this one instead.
I thought it would be today…
search for the Carrion Verdant weapons on trading post. That’s the Sylvari-themed skin, and is exactly the same as you get from the personal story. Sigh.
Also, I sometimes name my jaguar Facebook. Coz his special skill is Stalk-ing ;D AH, I get too much amusement of naming my pets… wish the names would stick though.
Lol Kevingway… are you on the TC server? My spider’s name is Peter Parker XD
the ones you’re probably talking about are the Verdant skins. They start at 39, I believe.
GW2 team has still not unlocked reserved names and now were missing out even more...

Try using some letters with accents on them. Some do work, and I feel add to the unique feel of a name! e.g. résumé :P
Does anyone have a screenshot of the tier 3 longbow? I’m just wondering if the preview is missing out on anything. (GS looks awesome!)
This was much needed, and very reassuring. Thank you.
I agree. Didn’t use to buy into all this “ranger is the hated class” stuff, but the conspiracy theory is slowly getting to me. ;_;
Still better than what Rangers got. ._.
I actually did level from 50 to 80 in my level 50 armour. Even did a few dungeons here and there. Did not die excessively in open world unless I was swarmed, or more than other people in dungeons. No, did not stick to only the low level maps either. Did not level excessively slow either, but I do like to take my time.
But then, I play ranger and my pet tanking does help a lot. :P
personally, I think that GW2 has plenty of “carrots”, from a PvE standpoint, probably just not what most MMO players are used to.
Like me, personally, I’ve made the mini zookeeper title my own personal carrot. Why? Because I like pets. And seeing my collection grow day by day makes the necessary grind for gold, fun.
I don’t do much PvP, but I do enjoy playing around with different builds and see which works best. And importantly, which one is fun. And again from PvE, if you play with different builds, you would need to grind a diff set of gear for each build. More carrots.
And of course, there are the legendary legendaries and the cultural armour sets, if you want character “progression”.
What’s wrong with just having fun in a game? Why do people feel the need the have a “competitive edge” over other people? If you want that, go play one of the many games out there which have that. Leave GW2 alone please. I like that I am able to work towards my Mini Zookeeper title and still retain not be totally messed up be it in PvE dungeons or PvP situations, for daring to not spend all my time in getting better gear.
