at this point all we can do is hope Anet reviews it, sees that PPT is kitten and does something about it. I know you can’t fix coverage or population but things can be done to stop servers from getting an insurmountable lead because they are ticking 500 PPT uncontested for hours.

Honestly this is a great point. In early 2012 everyone thought it would be about having the best players on at the right times. It quickly changed into a server “stacking” or gap covering meta hellbent on clustering offtime players on your server while keeping your NA competitive.

It hasn’t been about fighting in many many months, its just who has the highest average number of players, which is then followed by who can make them the most mobile and effective on a map.

It truly is a bit ridiculous. If they gave decent WXP for camps and other small objective, and they scaled that with number of tags it would go a long way to splitting groups.

What guilds are looking down on others? Send me a tell in-game so I can get in contact with the GM’s, because to be honest small guilds are essential to the success of the server. Anyways if you do chose to move I’d recommend ET because they need the numbers all round, and good luck

It’s unfortunate that this is the attitude on Blackgate. As much work that goes into it, there is little that can be down to change opinions. The T1 zerg situation definitely doesn’t help smaller groups as well.

If you tell me which guilds have been looking down on smaller guilds I will look into it. I’ve been putting a ton of effort into changing this attitude at our meetings, but somehow It’s impossible to stop without knowing the main culprits

It is unfortunate but brutally obvious that Arena Net has all but abandoned T8 or they would’ve fixed things months ago.

If you are a guild that wants a shot at real hardcore WvW on a server with a strong commander community try Blackgate.

Don’t believe the poo you hear about T1 servers using hacks because its not true. We are just very competitive and when exploits are caught the person is working alone.

Contact me about moving your guild to T1 for a server wideWvW community with frequent communication between guilds and commanders.

We can also see about minimizing cost.

If you are actually serious about Blackgate, you would be better off contacting me. In all seriousness, though, people should be moving down the ranks to balance some of the middle tiers where things aren’t as competitive as they should be.

2 Guilds with a combined number of maybe 50 if they are lucky. They did what was in the best interest of their individual gaming communities, and I respect them for it.

The only class I would not really recommend for WvW in the current meta is Engineer. Don’t take it personally. They don’t really offer whjat other classes do for roaming or zerg fight situations in their current form.

This is Bammzork from the 40 Thieves. Apparently we owe Blackgate an apology. Last night myself and a guildie were in CS farming when someone asked if we were the traitors from WvW. We thought he was crazy and basically ignored him. Then today I was at shadow waiting for the spawn when someone messaged me asking the something along the same lines. I actually spoke to this guy who was nice enough to explain what he was talking about. Apparently 2 members of the Forty Thieves were hijacking a fleet of golems and killing them.

We are a small guild of RL friends, only 5-6 strong. We have been gaming under this tag all the way back from the UO days on Pac. None of the real Forty Thieves did this. One of our guys met a couple other people in WvW and they asked to join. We have been wanting to try guild missions and talking about expanding so he invited them. These guys names are OculusOfNex and Valkyrie Mikalian. They joined our guild then used out tag for their shenanigans.

It looks like one of them left right after and if the other one was still in the guild roster he is out now. I purged all the names I didn’t know.

From the real Forty Thieves to Blackgate we are sorry. It was a case of infiltration into our guild and we fell for it.

TL;DR – The real Forty Thieves did not have anything to do with destroying the golems it was 2 guys using our generosity and guild tag because they could.

Oh wait they did, because that is a HUGE part of attacking and defending, supplies and siege. Thats right. I saw 3 trebuchets and a cata in JQ’s safezone ( exploit ) no denial protecting sunny from all attacks but since BG won no one on your side talks to that..so yes who cares about siege. BG adapted…supplies? go get some or stack ball buff and roll your atackers. So much fun.

I’m glad we could come to agreement that the best server won from dedication and stubborness this time. Maybe next time your server will support your main guilds better FOO and CHOO can’t do it alone and thats what they did.. how about THOSE amazing guilds? totally carrying their servers @ T1 virtually solo. If they werent on? their server was getting owned PPT wise. Thats why you lost, they got tired.

If the Flame Ram issue persists I would be more than happy to get a Blackgate guild over to break the wall, kill them, and maybe have a group of 5 sit around killing the person/ reporting them / cleaning up the rams.

For those wondering why JQ is taking a beating at the moment, and have been all day. Someone posted above me basically exactly what is happening. JQ server thought these were easy wins and we had it in the bag. We have hit a slump today, all of us on JQ know that. However, this will not effect us in the days and or weeks to come. We let our confidence and security get the best fo us (or the most of us). I do not think this will carry on the next couple days. Why? Because we are JQ say what you would like about us you trolls out there, but we worked hard to get where we are and the position we were put in. And I don’t think any guild on this server is going to let that fall apart. I will see you guys on the battelfield!

Well only a certain number of players are rendered on your screen at a time, no matter how many are fetched form the server. Due to the differences in the rendering engine between mac and pc the difference could potentially be +-5% in terms of the number of players that will be rendered at a time.

I’m getting sick of seeing petty excuses tbh, on just about everything. Deep down it’s just a game. If you go to sleep/work thinking about WvW all the time, you need to get out of it more.

All I can say is it’s been fun, and if you aren’t having fun, maybe you need a break. There’s a lot to do in this game besides WvW.

The worst thing I’ve seen is people QQing about people fleeing from a 1v1. A majority of the time I see one enemy, I do my best to simply stay away because you never know if there is going to be a zerg near that enemy or at least one other player. I’ve gotten into many 1v1 fights and either someones come on my team out of the blue or another enemy shows up. There just isn’t a real way to have 1v1’s in WvW. The game also isn’t meant to be played that way. Everything about Guild Wars 2 is teamwork based.

As for the GvG’s… schedule them on your own time. As someone said, this is a WvW thread. There is ingame mail and ingame messaging. Use that to schedule GvGs. Hopefully ArenaNet does something in the near future to add a GvG type of gameplay.

In the meantime, to add my trash talk of the week…. still wondering why some of Blackgate denied when I said they often stop showing up. Are there queues 24/7 like you guys claimed a few weeks ago? Same thing happened the first time we entered T1. Everyone showed up the first week, SBI/WM came in and pulled long shifts and won. The 2nd week we fought again but people quit even earlier. The third week we had outmanned buff a majority of the time.

I doubt things have changed. I really wish you BG “leaders” would have taken my advice and stopped worrying about numbers but more so trying to increase your skill. You guys HAVE the numbers to at least compete with JQ, but I still see people trying to level their alts. Granted you get that on every server, but more so on BG. Just a few more reason I took my talents elsewhere. Just a bit of more advice… yelling “GET TO (objective)” isn’t a strategic move.

Now this is a post I can respect.

People are still worried about numbers, and honestly don’t know why, we have more than enough people. Some people are taking a break this week, and I can understand that. We will be working on skill next week.

Got to love uneducated opinions.

First off, T1 has been a 2v1 against Blackgate since we got there, seeing as SoR still have pent up aggression toward us for maplocking them repeatedly in T2 during the BGvsSoRvsIoJ match. Then they got lucky with the rating change and shot to T1 despite having no legitimate reason to be there. The past 2 weeks have been Blackgate vs Sanctum of Jade (or Quarry of Rall, your choice), and it’s not even remotely fun.

The grand irony is that T1 will actually be good again once Kaineng kicks SoR out.

Its called WvWvW because so called “2v1 fights” are supposed to happen. I’m happy the fight is being brought to us, it keeps it interesting, gets us more experience, and gets us thinking about managing objectives.
