It’s so frustrating when ppl can’t speak Bulgarian in sPvP, how am I suppose to communicate with such ppl.
It doesn’t matter how I play it I’m not good with the class and I still win. And with the class I think I’m good with and I enjoy playing I lose all my games. That’s the point!
I main a Thief for PvP and I can say I know the class. I know what is expected of me and I’m fairly confident in my abilities to 1v1 and 1v2. Most of my games are losses no matter how hard I try, no matter how top stats I get, most of the games I play – losses.
Now I have Warrior and Guardian for PvE and after reading in this forum I decided to try the Guardian in PvP. Got myself a build that I can play, I know the class since I play it in PvE but I’m not confident in my fights. I often miss-click skills and lose 1v1 and 1v2 against good players. But for the last 4 days I play the Guardian in PvP I have 1 loss of more that 15 matches!!! I mean WTF?!?
I main Thief in PvP and the only thing I can complain about Guardians is the traps, and more specific the one that pulls you. That is very annoying otherwise they are not such a big problem. In my opinion Necros with all of their pets are much more annoying.
I’m having matches like these all the time. I’m currently doing the Year of the Ascention achievements and I’m on tier II, 4 wins in a day is like a dream come true. For the last 3 days I have 2 wins.
But no complains here, I’m just a noob Thief that can’t carry 4 ppl all the time!
If you didn’t complete Year of the Ascention I you can’t do Year of the Ascention II achievements and so on with III and IV.
Duo Q can be fixed using the system World Of Tanks is using – if one team has 1 Platoon (pre-made group of max 3 players) the other team must have the same number of Platoons. Max is 4 platoons per team, the team is made of 15 ppl so you are guaranteed to have at least 3 solo Q players per team. So if there are 2 Duo Q’s it should never put them in one team, they should be 1 in the first team and other in the second.
Last night I got a game that the enemy team wiped the floor with us. At the start I went close with my thief and won 1v2 to cap it. All of my 4 teammates went far and died while the enemy team capped mid, which means they were 4v2. And that repeated through all of the mach. I was getting beaten pretty bad also, a Guardian was killing me in 2 sec. So after the match I whispered with some of the players in the opposing team and 1 if them was Platinum and 2 were Gold, and I’m in BRONZE 1!!! I mean WHAT?!?
A few days ago I decided to try my warrior that I play only in PvE in PvP. I ended up in a match with 3 other warriors and since my main for PvP is a Thief I decided to switch. For the 20sec it took me to get back in the match I got reported, the dude actually apologized for the report, he thought I was quitting. 4 warriors in 1 match and he thought I was quitting!!! Nice work dude, nice work!
So many matches are decided in the last few minutes(if not seconds) that this just sounds ridiculous. To me this sounds like “Decrease match length so I can grind my ascended gear faster!”

Most used skills are 3+4(what a surprise!) and 5+Evade for stealth. Signet of Agility is for Endurance refill and the elite skill is for finishing opponents in +1 fights and also for interrupting. Assassins Signet is mostly for the passive but is also rarely used for fast finishing. Heal is also used for extra stealth and the daggers are for situations when range fighting is not an option.
I’ll try some of the builds listed above but I’m also open for any advice’s on my current build.
Hi all, I’m fairly new to this game and I’m still getting round lots of stuff. In most games I play I prefer PvP over PvE and I consider myself decent at it. Now I play P/P Thief but I didn’t find a good build for it, most of them were very old so I made my own and I can say I’m doing good vs bad and decent players and satisfying vs good players. But from time to time I meed players that literally beat the c**p out of me and that is normal but last night I met another P/P Thief that beat the c**p out of me, and that was a first. I meet a lot of P/P Thief but most of them are no challenge, but this guy was basically killing me for 2-3 seconds. I give him all credits deserved, he’s obviously far from my level of skill but I’m more curious about his build. So i decided to ask you all that play P/P Thief to share your builds and compare.

Rotating means to use your brain and have just a touch of map awareness. It’s not rocket science you know…
I do not agree! Forcing ppl to play build they have no experience with just because they are META doesn’t make them better players. Allowing ppl to play build they are used to and know very, very well is the best thing in my opinion.
I’m all new to GW2 but in my 5 years of playing PvP in Star Wars The Old Republic I can tell you of countless times my Sharpshooter Gunslinger brutalized players with META builds just because they can’t play them and I know my class and build to the bear bone.
And I think a player who plays his class at max is much more useful than a player with a meta build that has no idea what is what.
My main is a Warrior and to be honest I don’t like it in PvP. For that I use a Thief and it is much more fun and easy to play.
All professions need to be nerfed and P/P Thief needs to be buffed, period!
Last night I played a couple of matches – all were losses. In most of them the reality was: if I’m not at a base – it is taken by enemy! In my last game at the start I went and capped home, enemy capped mid and far. I went and killed 2 ppl at mid and capped it, by that time home was getting capped. I went home, killed 1 person and capped it again. And that repeated trough all the game, my teammates were fighting at all the wrong places or just died at the second an enemy saw them. How am I suppose to go up in rating? I have to be able to cap and defend home, mid and far at the same time all by myself, attack the lord at the same time and bake a cake with my free arm while I play a piano.
I play this game for over a month now and I started playing PvP as soon as I could because I like PvP. Last night I started to play ranked after some time reading about what is what. And everywhere I read they say new players are here for gear but I can’t see any gear given as a reward from the season. What is all the fuzz about?
Monday night I played 11 not-ranked games and won 8 of them and got my level at 20 so I can play ranked. Last night I had to play 10 games to get my rating and lost 7 of them! In all games(ALL 10!!!) I had AFK or leaving players, ppl that had no idea what are they suppose to do and where. And as a result I got staring rating of 687 so yea… I can’t see the point of this. I expected that ppl will at least know map objectives in ranked play but in most of the games I was the top player and I’m a noob with 60 games under my belt.
I still need to figure out how sPvP works and I’m not gonna play until then (I’ve played enough PvP in other games to know that) but I need to know what class is best for me in it as a start.
What you are saying is “If you don’t play the current META don’t play at all!”
Hey ppl, I play GW2 for over a month now and I’m having a blast in PvP with my P/P Thief. I have reached rank 20 and I’m planning to play some Ranked but I’m not sure my Thief with P/P is good for that. My main for PvE is Warrior and I was wondering if I can play Ranked with him.
