44 and like it a lot, although I can’t see myself playing once I’ve finished my main’s story-line and got 100% map completion (about another three or four weeks) until they bring out some more content anyway. Too many other good games out there beckon.
While we’re at it, can I point out that the word is ‘got’ not ‘gotten’. I was once given a red mark (bad) at school in the UK for writing the word ‘gotten’ in an essay, and told it was Americanised slang. Yet I am seeing it more and more written by Brits, not just Americans.
Personally, I take great pleasure from one-shotting mobs, on the rare occasions that I can. It actually makes it feel like my character has finally become a legendary hero!
I agree. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve lost my mouse pointer for several seconds, during a frenetic boss fight, sometimes resulting in my death.
Good point! I hadn’t noticed it before, but now that you mention it, the day/night transition is very sudden, and I think would benefit from distinct sunrise/sunset lighting.
As a more mature gamer, I like it that games are somewhat easier these days. When I play a game, I want to feel entertained, yes, but also relaxed; not stressed or frustrated (there’s enough of that in life as it is). I would hate to go back to the days of the ZX Spectrum, or even the Megadrive, where I was probably only able to finish one out of every ten games, as apposed to four out of five now.
Agreed. I like to use the warhorn with my warrior, but it does sound a bit like a large truck applying its air-brakes.
Although I find it often too dangerous to try and res. someone who is lying directly under a mob boss, I generally try to move in close to the boss to get its aggro, and then kite it away from the downed player, hopefully allowing someone else to get close enough to res. them.
Yes ‘training’ is one of my pet peeves as well, but I figured it’s just something we have to put up with when playing with other people on the same map.
Let’s be honest, it’s not just about the sustainability of the economy, it’s about ANet’s business model necessitating the regular purchase of Diamonds by its game players. The best way of encouraging this (or if you want to be especially cynical, the easiest way) is by finding ways of removing as much currency as possible, as subtly as possible, from as many people as possible.
The main problem I see with mounts, particularly if they are much faster than running, is that you are going to have players inadvertently kiting mobs all over the map as they rush around. I’ve already started getting annoyed by players running past me with half a dozen critters on their tales, which then decide to attack me instead. (I assume this is done by accident, and is not a tactic by some players to transfer agro to another player?)

I agree. I think if the respawn wait was doubled from its present rate, (a minute, rather than thirty seconds) it would be just about right. I also agree with Saurian, that it makes movement in battles virtually impossible in some situations, because of the fear of drawing in previously killed mobs.

Am I the only one who likes using the Warhorn in my off-hand? I find it more useful for my play style than the shield or other weapon.
