The new QT benchmark for Necro is in

Can you link those builds.

Here’s one example from another player

The idea is that you don’t want to overcap your bleed duration, which qtfy’s build does by quite a bit making it pretty inefficient. You have several options, such as swapping some equipment out for sinister giving a sizeable boost to condi damage like in the video. Another option is to go for the overall condi duration as opposed to just bleed duration, using a combination of runes like trapper and nightmare. If you do it right you can get +25% condi duration from just runes, which effects not only bleed (and caps it with food), but burn, poison, and torment you inflict as well, dealing 10-15% more damage in those departments.

I don’t hate qtfy. I actually really appreciate the work they do for the community; I use their builds all the time. My point, which I guess may not have been clear, is that the community puts them on a pedestal and they have an actual impact on how people play the game. Whether or not necro is truly viable, the word of qtfy is taken by many to be absolute despite their countless, well-intended disclaimers. But seriously, do you think it’s coincidental that none of their officers or leaders has interest in necro or rev and the former has only 1 build and the latter has 3 links to builds, one being for a mediocre damage, the second 404ing, and the last with a disclaimer that it only works on 1 boss?

Look at attached screenshot from their old site. It’s pretty obvious. The only two classes their higher ups don’t care for are rev and necro. No surprise those are the same two classes that nobody wants in raids, since the people de facto in charge of the meta don’t want them. There are objectively better necro builds that have been bench-marked by others and myself already, yet qtfy ignores them and posts their own builds with tons of disclaimers so they can pretend they’re trying.

OK, about Meteorlogicus

Agreed. Not sure why Meteorlogicus is so neglected. Even when they update it they don’t put any effort into it. I have it for my necromancer and haven’t even noticed any different effects on any skills :/

Can GW2 be played on an entry level computer?

Not sure where Dawdler’s getting his information from… GTX970 didn’t even come out until 2 years after GW2 was released.

I still run the game on an medium settings at 1080p on an old laptop with a GTX660m. A modern desktop will very easily run the game just fine. At the time of writing this I’m looking at builds for around $600 that are several times stronger than what I currently have. Your friend should be fine, I would just look into some benchmarks before making final purchases.

[FEED] is recruiting! (Sorrow's Furnace)

I Carry [FEED] is a great, up-coming guild looking for new recruits! We do everything from Dungeons to Meta Events to WvW. Our current goal is to increase our presence in WvW, so we can help our great server become even greater. We’re also trying to expand so we can more efficiently complete guild missions and Meta Events.

We don’t really have many requirements, as we’re a pretty laid-back guild. All levels of skill are welcome. The only thing we ask is that you must enjoy having a good time!

The whole point of poi’s is to encourage exploration. If we are told where everything is, then that sort of defeats the whole purpose.

Legendary and Ascended for all stats

I agree with you on the Ascended portion and believe there need to be more different specs of jewelry. As for the legendary, please correct me if I’m wrong, isn’t the whole point of the item just for the skin? Isn’t it so you can look flashy among all the other players? If you really need your cleric spec so bad that it’s discouraging you from getting a legendary, you can just use a level 80 exotic.

Well you can buy gems with gold, so other than the npc, what you want is pretty much already there.

Sell Ascended Rings

People would still have to do FotM to get rings. This suggestion would allow you to get rid of the rings you don’t want that you got from FotM, and would allow you to get the ring you do want faster. I don’t see where you got not having to step in FotM from.

Why not just remove everything from the monthly achievement? That way it’ll be easy for everyone. /sarcasm

Seriously guys, the whole point of the monthly -achievement- is for you to have something to work for, something that will challenge you. I don’t think it was added so rewards could be handed out all willy-nilly once a month.

Sell Ascended Rings

First, I would like to start off by saying that the addition of Pristine Fractal Relics was a great idea. I think that the system could be improved by allowing us to be able to sell the ascended rings that we don’t want to the relic merchant for a few Pristine Fractal Relics. I know there are many people out there getting ascended rings that are completely useless to them due to the wrong stats, so this would allow us to get rid of the rings we don’t want, and would get us a bit closer to the rings we actually do want.
