Just if one day you get bored with your current matchup and want a change of pace, don’t forget there is a bunch of SoR folks who value your skills and would love to fight with you side by side.

I say this completely selfishly, but I kind of hope SBI comes in third — only to keep them with us for at least another week. The matchups this week have reinvigorated us all — SoR, TC and SBI. It’s been a ton of fun.
As an SoS player, you can keep SBI. I am having a lot of fun crushing BG.
Just some questions. Did blackgate use nonsurvival stacks in T2? Did they ever backstab a SoR v TC fight? Did they QQ about 2v1 and coverage?
Blackgate seems to be a different beast in T1. We call them turtlegate.
FWIW, Blackgate put up quite a fight in the first 2 days, but in my opinion SBI is more skillful and experienced.
iCoa did stack a lot, and the tactic didn’t work at all against us SoR. I don’t know why they are still doing that after the healing nerf though.
HB seems to me the best guild in Blackgate. But still, not as threatening as PRX or Tsym imo.
Blackgate has a sizable Asian, oceanic force, namely Thai, ND, while SoR and TC have almost no Asian coverage (especially after nine dragon jumped ship). So Blackgate Asian guilds are rusty and may need some time to get used to tier 1 fight.

I am from Sanctum of Rall and I have been fighting you guys nonstop for months, first with Sea of Sorrows and then with Blackgate.
I have to say you guys are some of the most skilled players in any server, period! Small scale fights with you guys could never be more satisfying (No offense to Tarnished Coast, you do a great job sticking together but skill wise Isle of Janthir is simply better). You also have some great guilds, Never Die, Team Legacy and DRGN seem to be the more zergy guilds when we were fighting.
What you only lack is the coverage, particularly in the North American prime time. However, when there is little chance of winning due to insufficient coverage, when wake up everyday and see that waypoint in the keep is gone, less players will partipate in WvW, and that will make WvW less fun.
I deeply respect the guilds and players that hold on to their home servers even during the tough times. But whenever you feel like wanting more activities in WvW, please give Sanctum of Rall a second thought. After fighting so many weeks together, we both know what each other is capable of and what each other’s strengths are. Anytime you want to give SoR a try, you will be welcomed by open arms.

The 50% speed bonus (highest among all classes) is very good on paper, because it means as a thief, you can keep your foe in melee range and land tactical strike or backstab more easily.
However, during testing, I found that the trait doesn’t give me any speed boost over the already equipped 25% speed bonus (signet of shadow) in combat. After landing a CnD, and a foe starts to run, I CANNOT catch him if he has any sort of speed buff.
Is this a known bug to the developer? Is there some sort of global speed cap in combat?
For any profession, the tip to fight p/d thief is to root and burst, and keep mobile when they try to cloak and dagger you. All they need is missing one Cloak and dagger to die.
If you are guardian, use ring of warding to trap them when they get close, and then burst them to death.
Tips: for stealth pistol/dagger theif, immolize and then burst, they are a dead meat. The stealth build lacks stun breaker. high damage aoe is also your friend.
