Guild Wars 2

I’m a little confused about world completion. There’s the meter on the account screen which covers all characters, but then each character also has their own meter showing how much of the world they’ve been to.

So is there any benefit in having a single character complete every heart and every single thing in every zone? Or can that be spread across multiple characters?

I hope that makes senses. I’m feeling OCD and finicky about it, playing with my girlfriend. She’s just started a new character, and I started a new one along with her, so it might make sense to just stick to my new character. Instead, I’ve been switching back and forth depending upon if it’s something my higher-level character is missing. I figure this way, I’ll get 100% on my main character eventually. This is proving less fun than I’d anticipated, though, and it’s causing my other character to never get 100% anywhere.

Any advice?

How the heck do you reset tutorials? My girlfriend is playing on her new account on my other computer where I already had the game installed, and the tutorials aren’t popping up. She has no idea how to play. She’s never played a game like this before. I thought I remembered a ton of pop-up tutorials when I first played? What happened to those?

My girlfriend is going to get a copy of GW2, and I’m going to resume playing. I’m currently on a full server (as far as I know—it’s the unofficial RP server, though I forget the name). I like it a lot and would love if she could just come to that server, but I know it took me ages to switch to it, and I don’t think server switching is free any more.

So, what are our options? Either I pay to switch to a different server, or she gets lucky and gets on mine? Which is more feasible? I understand there is a guesting feature now, but I want us to both be permanently on the same server.

Also, she is British. She’s currently in the US, and we’re buying her a US copy of the game. Will she still be on the same US server when she returns to the UK and plays from there so we can continue playing together?

Thanks in advance for any help/advice. Amazon has a deal Wednesday, so that’s when we’ll be buying and playing! Can’t wait.

I’m in the same situation… Stayed up 3 hours past my bedtime and the server crashed at the very very end of the event. Logged back in and it was already over (either on the same server or, more likely, a different one). Got in with some friends on another but theirs was at the beginning! I can’t stay up another three hours!

If you want to start it over from the beginning… It’s past midnight, and I meant to go to bed at 10. I already stayed up super late just to crash at the end of the event.

I’m in the same boat. Pretty sure the overflow server I was on crashed and dumped all of us. We were at the VERY end of the event, too. I immediately reloaded the game (after staring, slack-jawed), and it was dead. I could see its corpse at the bottom. I joined some friends in a different overflow, but theirs was at the BEGINNING! I wasn’t going to spend another 3 hours!

So I missed out. No loot. I played it, from beginning to 10 min before the end and got booted from the server before I could get the reward.

That sounds nice to me! Did I understand you correctly that you and the Tarnished Coast are both Central time, or is it just you and not the server?

I get up really early, so I’m not above joining a “full” world early in the morning when it’s got a few slots open.

Any hints on how to choose a server? I need a US server, and I’d prefer one that uses Central time (the one I’m on now is two hours behind me).

I’m not fussed about whether the server is good at WvW and stuff. That’s fine and all, but I’m more interested in just finding a world with lots of friendly people.

I was under the impression all the servers were in the Central time zone, being in Texas (the US servers anyway). I joined Ferguson’s Crossing, and it’s two hours slower than Central time (which is what I want).

Is there some way for me to tell which servers are on which time zones so that I can find one that’s on Central time? And, preferably, in Texas. I seem to have good pings from Texas, despite being in North Dakota!

When/if I do find one, how do I make a World Transfer happen?
