Yeah, I just made another guild for Officer chat, but it is a very inelegant solution. And hey Arenanet, while you’re at it, it’s been 3 years, think you could figure out how to do targeted emotes, instead of @ people? Gah. Every other MMO EVER has them.

It’s not fun, it’s “funishing”. Every ten feet, you are in a fight, stop too long, and you will be overwhelmed. This isn’t fun, and being one-shotted by enemies is not “challenging”, it is punishing. This expansion is great for “hardcore” players who love to brag to their little friends how awesome they are online. For everyone else looking for some entertainment, some enjoyment, a good mix of challenge and exploration, it is a let-down. Still, I’ve pumped enough money into this game that I feel obligated to keep going, even while hating most of the new enemies (Christ, MUSHROOM men? What is this, Mario Brothers?) and despise being pummeled on every side and at every turn. (My opinion, so you needn’t tell me I’m wrong, I await all the “get gud” comments that normally follow.)

I dare to say that those filthy “casuals” are Arenanet’s bread and butter. I don’t have time to master everything, and be “hardcore”. I have to work. But because I work, I have the extra money to buy gems, to feel like I’m getting something unattainable through grind alone. Heart of Thorns is a huge misstep, and leaves at least half the players I have met avoiding the new content, and going back to old Tyria.

We’re stopping at the Workshop. That gives us a Guild Bank and a Personal Bank. The rest we will do without, because I won’t have my players kittenting away all their rare and expensive materials for little or no reward. It is poorly implemented, and will be the ruin of smaller guilds, with players jumping ship to go with some large Walmart guild.

A Guild Hall is a huge hole in the ground for smaller guilds. A constant, grindy gold sink, where players are constantly asked to throw their most precious, expensive materials into building an upgrade that offers little or no benefits. We are stopping at the Workshop. I’m broke, tired of begging players for materials (they’re broke too) and none of the additions appear to make any of the gameplay significantly better. Done. Screw you, Arenanet.

I just bought 150 keys yesterday, hoping for a rare node. Not a single one. I’m not spending thousands of dollars to get these, Arenanet, you hear me? Must break the cycle of spending. “Buying gems. Not even once.”

Agreed. I paid for individual pieces, so I could mix-and-match. I’ve lost pieces like the earmuffs entirely.

Same thing here. I play for about 30 minutes, get a black screen, can still hear game sounds, and have to use alt+F4 to end the game and restart it.

It has been this way since day one for me, and I have been playing since the first Beta.
