Rate My Build!
My build is based on the idea of a Condition Tank warrior. Sword/Shield/Longbow
Traits: 0/30/20/20/0
Arms: Deep Cuts, Blade Master, Furios.
Defense: Missile Deflection, Shield Master.
Tactics: Stronger Bow-Strings, Burning Arrows.
Heal: Mending
Utility: Balanced Stance, Frenzy, Endure Pain
Elite: Signet of Rage
For gear, I’m using all Rabid set items, with Superior Runes of Undead for the additional Toughness, Conditions Damage, and the 5% of Toughness converted to Condition Damage (6/6) perk.
This build works very well in dungeons, can maintain aggro of bosses and stay alive with ease, while putting out some serious damage with Bleed Stacking.
For sPvP and WvW, its still undefeated against anything I’ve come across 1v1 aside from a mesmer.

I personally am running Sword/Board 0/30/20/20/0 with Rabid Weapons/Gear w/Undead Runes. My 2ndary is Longbow with Heavy ConDam with perks to the Longbow from the 20p in Tactics.
Focused on bleed stacking and control, It’s highly effective in PvP and PvE for me. Also, I enjoy this build a LOT. The high Toughness makes me very very durable and high ConDam makes my bleeds (with Sword, Burst, and Bleeding perks. You can get 10 stacks of bleeding in a few seconds and maintain them very easily for lots of consistant damage and it’s a great way to maintain aggro in Dungeons) tick for 100+ consistently.
My Utilities are all Stances with the Trait that increases Stance Duration by 25%, I use Balanced Stance, Frenzy, and Endure Pain. My elite is SoRage for the might that adds ConDam.
This is my preferred build and of my own creation.

Ya, just lost a few minutes of my life I’ll never get back… but my 2cents is this… In gw1 the ranger had an pets as an “option” those of us who are long time Guild Wars players would just like to see that again in GW2, it was a wonderful class design that is sad to see missing from GW2.

Idk, I’ve only found the $10/800gem to be the lowest option using my CC, or PayPal.
No doubt this topic has been brought up before, but I’ve noticed that the starting rate to purchase gems are at 10$ for 800gems.
Thats excessive for what I want to purchase, could this be added?
Would a 5$/400gems option be bad? if so, why?

Lol, this is only a temporary fix and really hurts us. Pets are speculated to be around 45% of our damage output regardless of build/perk/traits. So by doing this, you’re “ignoring” 45% of your damage potential.
To all the people asking for no pets: it won’t happen. That’s the profession. I’m sorry, but roll something else if you don’t want to have a pet.
That being said, pets and their contribution to the rangers overall damage do need to be addressed and adjusted. I’m not sure to of the accuracy of this claim but I’ve seen the pet claimed to be responsible for 45% of our damage. That is absurdly high. The pet shouldn’t be nearly half our damage as that dramatically raises the skill floor (in situations where the pet is able to be on a target) and lowers the skill ceiling (in all situations). I think something in the range of 20-30% would be much more reasonable, but that’s for the developers and their internal testing to decide. Additionally I think pets should attack on the move. Why not? If their damaged is lowered I can’t see any issue with this. A penalty might be in order to the pets damage while it’s moving, however. PvE AoE damage on pets should also be reduced if the ranger is to be competitive while also maintaining the pet as an integral part of the profession.
Increase ranger damage; decrease ranger pet damage; pets attack while moving; pets take less AoE in PvE.Another issue is with making spirits more beneficial to the ranger. Perhaps giving the ranger and his pet a buff in addition to what they already grant. I’d love to run a buffing/support ranger (I like to in every class).
Make spirits more appealing and better able to facilitate a support role.The shouts give me mixed feelings. I see how they’re useful but I don’t think I’d choose any of them aside from “Protect Me!” I’d like to see “Sic ’Em” also grant stability to the pet.
I really enjoy how the weapons work, but I’d like to see an increase in longbow damage (as would a lot of people!). Perhaps stacking buff for remaining in the same place (more crit, more power, ignore a percentage of armor).
The option of making the Pets optional are already 1/2 way there. The stow button, it has the potential to be the bases of what we ask. Make the Stow button work, even if in combat and give us a damage perk to make up for the damage lost from not having a pet…. which in all honestly would be an improvement because of how poor the Ai system is for pets, they don’t do much damage now. In WvWvW they offer no benifit, and because of how pets are fundamentally designed to be a large solid portion of our damage output, we only LOSE damage as it is.
The idea about making the Stow Pet a lasting effect, and then add the option to bring the pet back out just by hitting the “Stow” button, not automatically summon upon going into combat would be very easy to add into the games coding. In addition, have us gain a 10-20% damage increase passive effect while pet is stowed. Problem solved right there, no longer restricting people, like myself who LOVE the ranger class, but dislike the Pet mechanic to being forced into be penalized for it. Yet leaving the option open to the players who do enjoy the addition of a pet for combat untouched.

For the love of god, can we please get rid of the pets? They seem like a hindrance to the class and causes our group efficiency to go down the toilet.
I absolutely love my ranger, I’m currently running a Trapper Build (20/30/20/0/0) and it’s soo fun.. but regardless of the build I’m running. My pet only gets in my way, the only pets thats been tolerable are Devourer/Spiders. if given the choice, I’d stow them away permenantly.
Make pets a skill choice like how “Charm Animal” in GW1 was required to be equipped too get an active pet. Forcing us to use these pets are really only hurting the class. I’m not alone in this, I have soooo many people on my server who agree 100% that pets should be choice.
Sign me up; I am a WvWvW focused person; but also enjoy the occasional dungeon run !

Hey Highvoltage, we just transfered to the server from Dragonsbrand, so sadly we had to leave our upgrades behind.
Currently, our main focus is re-building the guild’s upgrades and getting back on track.
Like in the original text, [RE]’s long-term goals are to really step up as an active guild, by that I mean hosting guild events, structured WvWvW teams, Dungeon Runs, and overall guild unity in both fun, and progression.

I’ve been failing at this all day… took a break, came back a few hours later. After 10 more attempts…. I GOT IT! Christ sakes this ones a toughy, But it SHOULD NOT BE EASY! Easy Content ruins games. There NEEDS to be content that is out of reach of an “Average” player because if it was too easy, it wouldn’t be nearly as rewarding.
Advice:
- Don’t give up, if you get too frustrated, take a break.
- If you have the “Speed Boosts” from Black Lion Chests, USE THEM. They work.
- If you feel that framrates are an Issue, change your graphics settings to “Best Performance” Ya it’ll look like crap, but it helps. It worked for me.

I’m at 2/4 as well.. I’ve played multiple rounds of the Village Survivor one, Completed the Clock Tower, and have played 2 rounds of Rumbler. I’ve Explored the labrynth (for the 150/150 Halloween Huntin’ Achievement)
I’m only 2/4 “It’s a Mad King’s World” achievement and I’m confused on how to get at least 3/4.
After many many attempts at this… more frustration than ever experiencing…. I can’t WAIT for the next epic jumping puzzle. I finally completed it not to long ago and it felt good lol.
Keep up the epic content, and let the babies QQ about “it’s too hard, pls give me easymode!” ignore them, they ruin good games..
I’ve been at it for 2hours+, easily 50% attempts and I can’t outrun the acid. My best attempt has been to the twin beams that require you to drop on to the floating gear with a hest on it.. The acid hits me before I hit the platform… 90% of the time I’m the last one standing.
2 Hours+ of this, no one in my groups have had any success. This Clocktower is simply too difficult for the average gamer.
Has anyone tried this solo as an Ele? I tried and it is way to hard solo. I can’t even get past the mob at the defending the gate part.
I seriously hope this is fixed soon, as I would love to progress in my story line.
I wouldn’t say this needs to be fixed, as it’s not a bug lol. Done this on a thief, war, and now ranger. Each one required a different tactic but the missions can be down if ya don’t experience a bug, like what this thread is about.
As too why I’m here, this is my 3rd time through this story mission (as noted above, Thief, Warrior, and now my Ranger) And for the first time, I’m experiencing a bug preventing me from completing the mission. It’s the same one as the OP’s, I start it off w/out issue, but after I defend the camp, I then have to defend the gate.
I then Run too the gate with NPC’s in toe, and as I approach, a small pack of Risen spawn. About four I think. After I dispatch them, and the initial pack of risen that attack the gaurds at the gate…. nothing… just some pretty background music and a butterfly or two. No risen, now I know the gate is supposed to be a losing battle spoiler and a large risen force is suppose to spawn and overpower the gate, but they never show up. Hope this gets resolved soon.

+1 to this post, my Shortbow “Wilderness Survival/ Skirmishing” trapper ranger would benifit most from the Rabid (Condition/Precision/Toughness) Prefix Items, sadly they can’t be crafted so I’m forced to do dungeons.
I’ve settled on Twilight Arbor (Exp) for the medium set, since it’s Rabid stats, but the sets looks are not really a look I like. I know i can transmute the armor to a different look, and thats more than likely what I’ll be doing. TA medium > Sylvari Cultural Tier3.
Would be amazing though if I could craft this set ><

I know this isn’t a “OMG WE NEED IT NOW!” kinda thing but I would love to see the ability to show more info on active guild members on the Guild Roster.
Like, How much Influence that individual has earned for the guild. I would LOVE to reward the more active members for working so much to benifit the guild. But I can’t do that when the only info I can get is “#_ of members have completed events earning #_ influence.”
When was the last time they logged in. (So we can kick the people who are truely inactive, inactive players makes it difficult to recruit when they log on and see a long list of offline players.)
I like how they show the Crafting Skills/Levels.
I don’t get the point of showing Achievement Points, unless there is some relevancy that I’m failing to see that related to a guilds progression from Achievement points.
These things are minor, but would make running a guild much more efficient and easier to run.
This is my opinion.

Just got the key for it today, went to the Lab all excited… same issue. Can’t interact with the Matrix Lock thingy ><
I’m experiencing the same issue. I’ve used Mumble and turned all the suppression options off for Mumble and GW2’s VOIP Ducking. Still, GW2 has too be nearly muted with all sound options set to MAX w/out Mumble blowing out my speakers, or turning off Mumble and blasting my speakers just for GW2’s volume to be “normal” volume.
This issue is truely annoying, I absolutely love the soundtrack of GW2 but I kinda rely on VOIP with guild for pvp and other events.
Really wish to see a resolution to this issue soon
