Please make boons and condition durations show above the icon instead of having to hover over each one to know durations. For example having to hover over my poison condi to see how long I need to wait to use my heal. This information should be available at a glance.

Spicing up boons/condis/runes/sigils

Came up with a list of things I feel like would help make condis and boons more interesting and promote more skill play and counter play with them. And added a few new skills for my favorite class the Engineer utilizing some of these new condis/boons. Feel free to post ideas for your prefered class or rip this thread apart with critque if you like. Making some or all of these changes would open up a huge number of builds for professions across the board.

General
Racial Abilities Allow Racial utilities and elites to be used in The Mists for spvp/tpvp
Condition/Boon Icons Allow Conditions and Boons to show duration at a glance without the need to hover over
Target GUI Allow your Target GUI to be moveable on the screen.

Conditions
Weakness
Weakness now strips 1 boon upon application and 1 Boon every 5s weakness is applied.

Burning
Burning now stacks intensity instead of duration. Max Stacks 10-25

Confusion
+20% dmg increase in pvp

Chill
Allow chill to stack intensity max 3 stacks. Each stack reduces movement speed and skill recharge by 33%. At 3 stacks reduction will be 99%

Slow*NEW*
Doubles activation times on enemy players, Cancels quickness direct hard counter

Decay*NEW*
-35 Toughness and Healing per stack. Max Stack 25, stacks in intensity

Boons
Retaliation
Damage increased by 25%

Rejuv
Rejuv now stacks in intensity max of 3 stacks. Allowing 3 regens to tick together @ 3 stacks

Fury
Reduce +%crit chance from Fury to +10% (down from +20%)but allow Fury to stack intensity, max Stack 5

Purity*NEW*
+35 Toughness and Healing per stack. Max Stack 25, stacks intensity

Annointed*NEW*
Each stack will nullify 1 incoming condition. Will not remove existing condis. Stack to 25

Combo Fields
Blast/Leap Finish
All Blast finishers now last 5s (up from 3s)and Leap finishers last 8s (up from 5s)

Static Armor*NEW*
5s blast, 8s leap duration, stuns enemies when attacked, combo field lightning

Acid Armor*NEW*
5s blast, 8s leap duration, Grants 1 stack of Annointed to you and 1 stack of Weakness to your enemy everytime you are hit by an enemy player, combo field Poison

6: Your confusion is now viral and will hit enemy players who are within 500 yards of your target

4: 50% Chance Confusion ticks will daze an enemy for 1s

6: 20% Chance Daze will Stun for its duration

Runes of Stable Mind 1: +X Toughness

4: Using a Healing Skill grants 5s of Stability. 20s CD

Sigil Of Time Lapse 10% chance on crit to inflict Slow on enemy target. 30s CD

Sigil of Rage 10% Chance on crit to gain Quickness. 30s CD (down from 45s)

Sigil of Enlightenment Apply 3 Stacks of Purity when swapping to this weapon in combat

Sigil of Cooperation Blast, Leap, and Whirl finishers apply 1 stack of Purity on allies and 1 stack of Decay on foes.


Engi Util Skill
Displacement Set transponder beacon for return portal.
Ground target 3 targets max, displace 3 foes and teleport them to your transponder beacon 120s CD, 1200 range of beacon
XXX dmg, Applies 5 stacks of confusion for 10s to all foes effected
Toolbelt: 3 Target 360 pull. Light Damage, applies 2 stacks of confusion, 60s CD

All Turrets Change Turrets into Golems, reduce multiple CDs to increase effectiveness. Golems follow you.

Deadzone 210s CD, 10s AOE Slow, direct hard counter to Time Warp *Elite Skill replaces Mortar

Absortion Barrier Grants 7s Protection and 5s Stability to nearby allies. 45s CD
Toolbelt: Overcharge your barrier knocking back foes. Medium Damage, 40s CD, applies 2s Slow to foes.

Lightning field is exclusive to ele. Ice field exclusive to else and ranger. Engie can ice field but its only on the crappy mortar elite. Spread these Fields out to more classes/weapons

Get rid of bomb kit because who throws a bomb right next to their feet? It makes no sense at all, engineers are losing limbs everywhere. Instead replace it with Rocket kit! A rocket launcher with the same skills as the bomb kit. It would actually make sense and be pretty awesome.

Put EG, TK, bombs, nades on F1-4.
Put good tool belt skills as util choices adjusting some of the absurdly high CD timers.
Remove trash tool belt and utils.
Add hammer and mace.

Death match:
To make death match work with no trinity I would propose allowing everyones #6 heal to be aoe within say 500-600 yards. Wuth maybe +10s on normal cd durations. Maybe 1pt forkill, playing to 20 or so. Downstate disabled in this mode.

Would attract casuals that just hop on to kill people for their 1hr a day they play. Would also promote teamwork as you can now actively heal your allies to keep them alive.

Why do you need the “trinity” to make Death match work? Also, in paids at least there is a lot of teamwork as is. Why do you need to disable downstate?

Anet has stated why they don’t have death match currently as it does not fit in their PvP model. 5 glass DPs teams only engaging when elites are up or 5 bunker teams you could never stomp if you manage to get said kill. My suggestions were made to make death match viable within the current PvP model.

So I’ve been around for awhile, some know me some don’t. Im r40 with around 100 qps. I play casual hardcore since i juggle RL. Anet definitely needs some help attracting more people into PvP. So I thought a fun way to do that would be brainstorming new modes the population would like to see. Be as specific as you can when explaining your desired modes.

Round Robin:
3 teams of 5
5 capture nodes (4 outside 1pt tick each, 1 middle 2-3 pts per tick)
Maybe add 3 cannons to several locations pointing mid.

Would attract wvwers used to the 3way action.

Death match:

Siege:
5v5 or 10v10 castle siege with a keep lord. Timed run to take castle or defend it. Could flip sides and let attackers defend for 2nd run or just be random whether you attack or defend.

Obviously would attract more wvwers into spvp.

Asuran Rugby:
5v5 or 8v8 Huttball variation. Allow ground targeted passing. Implement pitfall environment hazards that can kill. Multi tiered paths to score.

What can I say huttball was the 1 thing swtor did right I loved it.

Smear the…. Quaggan:
5v5 players race to 1 of 3 shrines to commune with the quaggan statue. Statue gives the player a transform with new abilities for 1-5. Points are scored 1per sec for the team with the transform. Once that player is downed the quaggan spirit will randomly spawn at any of the 3 shrines on the map. Killing a quaggan transformed player is worth 20 points.

Just a fun mode that would attract all.

Pirate’s of Steamspur Bay:
5v5,8v8,10v10 not sure size.
Ship vs ship combat. Goal is to disable other ships defenses with cannons and then raid the ship for its plunder. Allow ship to be controlled by “Captain” by interacting with the wheel and turning ship as you would with any current siege wep.

Interesting variation on siege mechanics would likely attract all forms of players.

Variant could also include ship vs castle siege allowing you to destroy walls and gates from the boat before sending in your raiding party.

True Capture the flag:
5v5 CTF without conquest cap nodes. 3 flag caps for win. Cannot cap flag unless your flag is safe.

Lots of people asking for this. The conquest version comes out soon we will see if it is enough.

Juggernaut:
9v1. 10 people start on same team. Mad dash for the juggernaut transform granting double health/damage. Players are scored individually based on kills as jug, against jug, and time length transformed.

Widely popular mode with fps games. Would attract players from all walks of life.
