Ascended gears aren’t even that much better than Exotics, worse for some builds. I don’t use any ascended items outside of Fractals because what my characters already have better serve them.

Maybe if the ascended items had like double the exotic stats, then it would be a gear treadmill, but as they are right now…they are not much more than mere AR holders, which is redundant if you don’t do Fractals to begin with.

I actually kinda like the way UI is in this game…actually scratch that, I LOVE it.
I work as a graphic designer and from my purely designer standpoint, I think the design team did really well in creating these condition icons (GW1 icons were really more…abstract). They are brilliantly straight to the point that I’ve never had to scroll them over to understand what they stood for and what the dark red hue meant, even when I had just started playing.

I think Boon icons on the other hand could use a little more work though. Specifically Vigor and Stability.

I lost 125 points total (I know this because when I first logged on after maintenance my character selection screen still showed 4778, and I had 4653 after I picked a toon).

Only things I got hit with are All You Can Eat, Slayers, and some Weapon Master tracks, which are easy enough to fix, and Master of Overkill, which didn’t provide any points to begin with. Pumpkin Carver is still unfixed from last update.

Oddly enough my Lifetime Survivor was intact, and coincidentally I’m in the process of getting my Golden title (thank god). Good thing I decided to derail from my title couple of weeks ago when I spent fortune gearing up my Thief with nice stuff for no reason. I do hope you can fix these two for people affected though. I’d be pretty mad too.

Am I missing something?

Ascended items don’t drop as random drops either.

On the actual note, some people are just more blessed by RNG more than others. I know one of my guildies get enough ascended rings from Fractal dailies to npc them for hoarding her bank space, gets couple of random exotics every other dungeon runs with only source of MF being the consumables (26%), while I have only ever gotten 2 ascended rings from about the same amount of Fractal runs and I’m usually happy if I get even a green from regular dungeon runs.

I like how all the self-crowned elites seem to have amnesia about the fact that they sucked and died on their first few dungeon runs too.

Difference is that those “self-crowned elites” learned from mistakes and became better players. Look at all the whiners now. Only one and half day since the update and already they are crying about how dungeons are no longer fun, too hard, and how it will kill the game. Can you honestly say that in the past 24 hours, the whiners ran dungeons hundred times, tried to adapt to the change, and give this thing a shot? I don’t think so.

Yeah, I remember dying many times in dungeons when the game was new. That was 5 months ago.

if they realy wanted to gain players ROLL THE PATCH BACK FOR DUNGEONS!

I would be surprised if the comments like this with pure biased personal opinion not at all fully backed up by logic or statistics not being removed.

look at how many people are kitten off about this change then look at your stupid comments. this change will impact this game regardless of what you think. this makes it realy hard to play dungeons anymore. go do ac explore and tell me you can beat kholer without dying and the boss resetting over and over with newbies. then come post here!

What exactly is so bad about Kholer? Literally all of his attacks give you incredibly long time frame to prepare for. He’s just hard if you are one of those people who are smashing their faces into the keyboard during the fight…

newbies dont know the mechs of him therefore alot of them may not want to play dungeons anymore

Then I would say let them quit. Nothing worse than a newbie unwilling to learn and threaten to quit if rewards are not handed over on a silver platter. Either way I have faith that this change will improve the quality of GW2 playerbase over time.

Not sure why so many “casual” players are raging at this. You don’t have to be a hardcore player to res downed party members. Only skills you need are ability to know which direction to run to and how to press the F key on your keyboard. This update should only be affecting those who never bothered to res (i.e. CoF1 farmers).

I mean let’s face it, it takes a tremendous amount of fail to wipe in a generic dungeon and have to start over (and you don’t even have to restart the whole dungeon). Back in GW1 when your HP ran out you were finished. Here you only go into a downed state which is like second chance to survive. We are given boons, traits, utility skills, and even environmental advantage in some cases to help get party members back on their feet again. How much easier do you want this game to get?

Class treadmill in a MMO is terrible.

Just do dual profession like GW1 or split classes into two types instead of evolving them into something completely superior.

Anet doesn’t “need” to do anything you ask.

And it would be a little disheartening to see it become the most common greatsword skin considering I diverted my attention from Twilight and got the Volcanus for my warrior.

Dungeon rewards

You don’t have to run TA to get whatever armor you are trying to get…you can craft armors with the same stats. But that requires farming mats, which, I guess would be “too much work” for you. I don’t know what to tell you.

I’m not sure if I went through the same dungeon as people claiming to have wiped on CoF P2…the mobs now do such a pitiful damage that we could just stomp around and literally slaughter them. We completed that part without anyone downing.

The hardest part in P2 is, to me, still getting Magg through the lava field…which isn’t really hard per se, it’s usually just Magg being stupid.

Main point of Jagged Horror is to be paired with the Death Nova trait for a fast and cheap trigger. But yes it’s pretty annoying if you have just 10 points in Death Magic to make staff more useful.

Corrupted shortbow

Could have at least just made it “mini” version of the longbow instead of diminishing all the details that made the bow a great skin to run around with…especially for a bow that costs so much to make. I’m not sure what Anet has against shortbows, but the lack of decent looking shortbows is quite disturbing.

Now people will actually have to figure out the game to get through dungeons. Keep up the good work Anet.

I’m not sure why people find Subject Alpha so hard, he always releases his AoEs in specific amount of time (I typically count 5 before dodge rolling, but this depends on how fast you count)…the tetris app on my phone is harder because you can’t predict what’s coming next unlike Alpha…or any other dungeon bosses.

Luckily for me I only lost one Waypoint and one PoI, and some silver…however that’s still my time that’s literally gone unnoticed.

I realize if the data is lost there is nothing you can do, but I think there has to be more than just a little Twitter post aplogizing when stuff like this happens. I recommended GW2 to so many friends and praised you guys as a developer that cares. Please don’t let me stand corrected…
