When you attempt to install anything it goes through the computer to path that you chose to put the file. So you can think of it as being installed on the computer before being moved over to the external.

If you have a Mac at home you probably would be able to install it onto your external then run it from there on their computers.

Yep, I mean Terabyte. Yeah, I figured that would be the only solution besides asking the school. The school have said no to any game installation on their computers. I don’t have a mac computer at home, but I do have a windows computer. Is there any way to use windows files to play on a mac from an external drive? Probably not, but I might as well ask.

Here’s my Charr so far (It’s the pit-fighter set with T2 Helm.)

That armor looks cool, but I don’t like it on my Charr characters. I want something more charr-like or that shows off fur.

Most of the Charr, (in my opinion) look like they are going to a human costume party…
The hood for Devout armor is awesome, but the skirt-like part of a lot of Charr armor just looks… unfitting. If Charr are being practical, why would they wear something that hangs off their body, especially when they tend to run on all fours….

Don’t get me wrong, some of the skirts look okay, but they at best look ordinary, what’s up with that for ‘exotic’ armor?

I also like the headpiece for the Cultural tier three light armor, but I don’t like the rest. I think the biggest reasons are that i don’t like how the armor is fitted (skirts….ew) and they don’t show off the fur patterns I spent so much time making in the beginning. If I can’t show off my fur, then what am I but an animal in human’s clothing.

I think a lot of us agree that we would like to see a more well rounded selection when it comes to Charr armor. Some want to show their fur, some want to over up with their awesome heavy metal armors. No one wants them to change all the armor, but simply stated, a lot of the medium and light armors don’t fit very well, and frankly make the Charr look soft, not ferocious. Almost as if they are being domesticated by the humans. o.O

Any Charr would slap someone for even ‘suggesting’ that, so why are they wearing clothes that don’t fit their personality. They don’t have to change the armor, but at least fix clipping issues and give us a wider selection on types of armors. For instance, most light armors look like robes, but those poor thiefs look silly in robes. (Any Charr looks silly in a robe or coat in my opinion… Robes and coats compliment human anatomy well, but they certainly don’t do any favors to the Charr.)

I’m not trying to install them on their computers. I just want to play from an external drive.

Can you do the same from PC to Mac? Thanks!

I am a college student trying to run Guildwars 2 on the college iMac computers. I have a external drive that is about 1 Trilobyte in disk space with USB 3.0. However, the school computer won’t let me mount the Installation file at all, so I can’t copy and save the files into my external drive to play off of the external drive.

The computers here only allow admin to install programs on them, but all I want to do is install it onto my external drive! What should I do?

I played the first Guildwars and fell in love with Charr from the first one I had to kill as a human in pre-searing. I was sad to have to kill them. They looked so awesome. Then I met Pyre Fierceshot. He was the most handsome Male Charr I’ve ever seen. I was stricken. I made sure to always have him in my party as a hero. I even got him some cool brotherhood armor.

Then Guildwars 2 made my dream come true. Of course I had to wait a very long time for it, but all the while I was watching all the videos and reading up on all the lore about charr I could get my paws on. Not only could I play a Charr, but a FEMALE Charr! They are so cute! I get into character creation and make some beautiful fur patterns… but wait…. low any behold… all the armors cover up my fur and don’t give off the same amazing style I fell in love with in the beginning..

What I loved about eye of the north charr was the fur patterns. Covering those up with armor feels like such a waste of all the time I spent customizing my charr. Sure, I could just run around with no armor on…. but I want some armor that show off both my fur and that beautiful armor style from gw1 and from Kekai Kotaki’s concept art.

Sylvari. There are seldom few non-trench coat medium armors, and I personally think Charr look awful in trench coat armors. Sylvari can at least wear trench coats stylishly.

I agree. Charr need better armor styles. I Think they need to show off more fur too. I spent so much time making my fur look just right, only to have it not show in game.

I strongly support arenanet’s decision to have female and male charr wear the same clothing, because I am sick of females being portrayed in a sexist way. So, I agree with you. However, you are missing the point. The OP worded her request poorly, so let me explain it to you:
The OP is not asking for sexy female armor, or female armor which is different from male armor. The OP is asking, quite simply, for armor that shows the pretty fur patterns of the charr. She mentions female charr specifically, because she has female charr for characters, and not male charr. However, if you read her post, she clearly states that she also wants the same added for male charr as well.
My opinion on the matter is yes, charr in general need armor that is more suited to their unique bodies. It needs to fit their shape properly, and it needs to show their fur, because when we created our charr their fur pattern was part of what made them special.

Yes, Thank you, sorry I worded it wrong or in a way that made people angry. Sorry ANet if I offended anyone. I just wanted to explain my frustrations. It is true that I would make my humans wear conservative outfits, but that’s my style which I’m entitled too. But I would like some armor styles that I could show off my Charr’s beautiful fur patterns. Like some of you said, our armor selections are boring, and I’ve already been through the Charr lvl 80 armor on all the sites I can find and they all look the same. I haven’t found any with enough fur showing. The best thing I found was a gladiator type armor that basically makes your character clothes less, but it’s not really beautiful. I just want more selection of armor.

Do you guys know of any LDS guild on Tarnished Coast?

All I play is Female charr, but I’ve been extremely dissatisfied with the armor selection. I want to show off my fur! Please read and share if you agree!

Ever notice how much clothing Charr wear even though they have fur… This has been bothering me since before release. Humans, Norns and Sylvari all have more choices when it comes to conservative and liberal armors. What I love about this game is that it allows you to play the way YOU want. Charr only have conservative armor styles. It is boring. Think about it, when in character creation, we get to choose from a wide variety of eye-catching and impressive fur patterns, and for what? Once you get in the game, the fur is all covered up. If I COULD, I would hide all my armor, why, because then I could sport my beautiful fur instead, and there is nothing wrong about a cat showing off her fur.

I’m making a plea for the sake of Charr all across Tyria. Please make Charr armor for females that looks ferocious, yet beautiful at the same time. I want to show off my fur. If you let players deck out their women with little to no clothes, please let a modest girl like me, have stunning but fierce looking Female Charr Armor and to show off my exotic fur patterns.

And while you’re at it, the male Charr armor needs a second look too. In guild wars 1, eye of the north, I loved the look of the Charr, because they showed off their abs and beautiful exotic fur at the same time. I’m sure all the female Charr liked it better that way. ;P

Let’s make our Sires, Warbands, and Legions proud, as we slay our enemies with style, whether it be through spots, stripes, or no pattern at all! Those in favor, say meow!

P.S. I still think a skirt on a Charr looks silly.
