Guild Halls Done Right

My main wish is that the materials needed scaled with the size of the guild. I wouldn’t mind having to put together like 300g worth of materials between everyone in my 15 person guild, if a guild with 450 members had to get together more like 600g or more.

The current system just sees small guilds punished and large guilds incentivised. We can’t wrangle enough people to get more than the easy mission done each week, so we have to wait a full week to upgrade our guild hall even though we’re all active (just at different times) and we have ALL of the required materials except for favor. Meanwhile, 200+ member guilds have had an easier time getting upgrades, so people leave or stop repping smaller guilds in favor of those large guilds because hey, there they can get their WvW, Magic Find, EXP etc bonuses that my small, close-knit guild can’t provide yet.

Guild Mission Bugs

My guild’s currently too small to really be affected by this (at least, this week – our bounty went fine, not enough people to do the medium/hard missions), but hoping for a fix before reset so we don’t also get saddled with a buggy, messy mission. It’d be nice to get some comments from ANet about this.

250 HP For Elites [Feedback][Merged]

I quite liked feeling like I was working for something again. But now I’ll log in when I get home from work and will have gotten everything that I was working for with no real effort on my part. I feel like I was robbed of a sense of accomplishment – like I said in my OP, I understand letting people have their elite specs fully traited out sooner, but I still want to feel like I’m progressing. Like I have a tangible goal that will be rewarded. I have no problem with that goal and reward being cosmetic, but a significant part of the fun of the expansion has just been taken away from me and I don’t see it keeping my interest long-term any more.

250 points to unlock the final grandmaster trait and have all of the utility skills. 400 points to unlock the skin and other cosmetics aspects of the elite specs.

That way, those who want to play with their elite spec quickly can do so, and those of us who like having something to work towards long term and have something to accomplish can have that too.

I understand the need to make the specs easier to obtain, but surely there can still be long-term character-based (as opposed to account-wide) progression for those of us who like that.

Completing the personal story required ???

I don’t know if you have to complete the core game personal story to play it, but you do need to do the first two chapters of HoT personal story to get to the new maps at the very least. Tried to take my friend through the door and it told him he had to play those chapters.

Try opening up your story journal in the hero panel and see if it lets you activate the HoT story.

Engineer's flamethrower...

Hmm… I’ve noticed other people saying they saw the same thing when we were playing together. It wasn’t the flamethrower itself, but the ambient light it put off would kinda strobe really quickly. I’ll try to submit a bug report next time I see it.

Hardest jumping puzzle

In terms of the puzzle itself, for me it’d have to be he Aetherblade one. I don’t know if it’s because I did it at under max level (and thus didn’t have great gear and was fairly new to the combat system), but I died almost as much on the enemies as I did on missed jumps.

In terms of getting to the puzzle, definitely emerald/garnet/sapphire sanctums. The puzzles themselves are very easy, but I’m not a WvWer and don’t particularly enjoy having to get unexpectedly ganked by enemy players on the way, or worrying about getting killed by enemy players in the puzzle itself. And since they’re all identical, having to do it three times was just obnoxious.

Obsidian sanctum was probably my favorite JP, though (it did help that I didn’t see any other players the entire time I was there, though). Was absolutely beautiful and really had me wondering about the lore and history of the place.

Engineer's flamethrower...

Does anyone else get a headache when looking at the engineer’s flamethrower? The flashy light is SUPER obnoxious, and I basically have to run away whenever there’s a flamethrower engi around or I’ll get a headache.

And it’s weird, because that seems to be the only flamethrower in the game with that weird flashy effect. The flamethrowers by the Claw of Jormag fight don’t do that, for example, and there are more around the game. It seems like only the Engi’s has the strobe effect.

ANet, any way to fix this?
Unless I’m totally missing something and it has been patched already ><

Outfits share dye setup, bug or limitation?

I know for armor at least, if you re-equip the old armor and then re-equip the new armor, the dyes will stay (so new > old > new). I don’t know if that will work for outfits, though.

Teq should fail more often

Too bad we can not join EU servers.

Teq usually ends exactly in time to grab your loot and teleport to the shaman, but people in the zerg just THINK it was easy. They have never been in a turret or a defense team so they do not realize we are doing a lot of work to save their kitty-cats. I would collapse laughing if the only people who got rewards actually contributed more than just zerging. Fewer people so greater rewards. Tonight was a perfect example, if our team (all 2 of us) had died those champs would have had nothing between them and 3 of the turrets except for random people scrambling to deal with the situation as soon as the shock wore off.

I usually do turrets for Teq, and the last two or three times there hasn’t been a hills team at all, so of course the turrets would go down. We’re calling in map chat asking for teams to form, and of course, the bone walls go up because the turrets are all broken… and the zerg started yelling at the turrets :/

Definitely agree that people that just stack the zerg don’t usually understand what goes into it. It’s also much more fun in the hills/boats/turrets teams than the zerg, imo!
