I agree with the topic creator. Standing ovation. Doing this with a blind party was a great experience.
In truthfulness any dungeon longer than 20mins to complete is a poorly designed dungeon, and almost sees no replay-ability.
Get out of here. Please.
So you didn’t do Tequatl and you are already dismissing the new TA path without even knowing how it will be? I would like to know your definition of “epic.”
’mmm ’kay.
You should open a window in your room.
What turret problem? I haven’t seen any turret problem during the eight times I’ve attempted the fight.
The meta-achievement for Tequatl will stay the same and I’m thankful for that. It’s time to make titles mean something again.
I’m really tired of hearing people say oh I work 12 hours a day blah blah so essentially I should have everything handed to me because I’m on a such busy schedule well heck I work 9-10 hours a day, spend 2 hours at a gym and I still welcome the challenge. I swear it’s like most gamers have gotten spoiled as we’ve gotten older over the years with games getting more dumbed down to appeal to the “casual guys” but some of us actually want wortwhile content that is challenging.
I mean let’s face it tequati was beaten the first day so isn’t not like it’s impossible. I actually want content in a game not everyone will beat anytime soon makes it more worthwhile to keep coming back and if you say you don’t have enough time to do a fight it’s 15 minutes…seriously.
Plus why does everything has to revolve around getting rewards? It’s like the game itself doesn’t exist.
“Hand me stuff, please.”
Okay, gonna try switching to invisible and back when I get home from work and will post if it works or not. Thank you for your help so far.
The problem is that these fights just aren’t fun. One-shotting and chain cc’ing and all the other tired Anet gimmicks in these fights is just frustrating. You don’t feel like it’s a challenge when 10 krait magically appear on top of you and take turns reeling you in, cc’ing and then killing you. You feel like you’ve been scammed.
When you’re just another anonymous face in the zerg feeling like your contributions to the fight accomplish nothing and you’re just dodging red circles and endlessly rezzing the dead, where is the sense of achievement? If “we” (never “me”) beat the dragon, I don’t think I’d be all that excited because it depends way more on what the other 79 people do than it does on what I do.
If you could somehow leap on top of the dragon and do an instant 10 percent damage by impaling him in the head with your greatsword, that would be epic. You know, something that makes your contribution stand out, if only in your own experience of the fight.
There is fun hard and stupid hard, and the distinction between the two has less to do with the difficulty level than the mechanics of the fight and your role in it. Tequatl leans way to far towards stupid hard to be much fun.
Chewablesleeptablet already posted about this;
This is a worldwide problem……
The “everybody wins” mentality has made games too easy.
You can always play single player games if you despise interacting with other people inside games.
It’s supposed to be challenging. It may be difficult for you to grasp, but there are people who enjoy and have fun doing things that challenge them and make them expand their limits.
I understand you feel the way you do. I don’t have a difficult time grasping that people like challenges. I just felt the need to share my personal opinion by creating a topic. Your insinuation that I am unable to grasp elementary concepts is much appreciated.
I apologize for my unnecessary tone, but more than enough topics have been created asking for nerfs, already.
No it’s cool. I DO get it. I mean, when I was a kid I lvl’d to 255 on Breath of Fire I just by killing slides for 3 months. Haha I LOVE a challenge. I am just not having fun because I really feel like there is going to be a mass exodus away from this boss. It just bums me out is all.
You dont actually need whole server, 3-4 guilds that are willing to do it right way should be enough imo, time will tell. If anything, i would love if all petty world event reward chasers give up on teq meaning there will be less auto att afk-ers and also more fps for me!
Servers that consist from majority of players unwilling to put some effort into this will have hard time, which is good too. Find some guilds on your server, organize and dont rely on randoms zerg.
So much this ^
Hopefully only the most hardcore of players will stay. There will be guilds that coordinate together to do Tequatl just as there are guilds that do Karka Queen together.

I kinda agree with what you’re saying. I think that a good commander and people that are willing to listen to what is being said in map chat are enough to beat it.
Sincere congratulations to Blackgate!
I knew there had to be a way to do it, let’s get on it, SBI!
Yes, didn’t work either. Just did it again just in case, still can’t chat nor see guild channel.
Standing down then representing again did not work for me.
if you have a life, it is not so epic waste time when the event fails.
Oh, please. Whenever any MMO has hard content, people pull out the ‘I have a life’ card. No. Stop. This content’s difficulty and how much of ‘a life’ you have have no connection. Stop complaining and learn the fight, please.
events must be well measured, otherwise alienate persons from doing so.
the event is not as spectacular as the trailer has suggested, it is ugly and difficult, and a waste of time if it fails.
Why would I do that?
Why do you play videogames?
You make very good points but for some reason I couldn’t stop getting the feeling that the overall gist of your post is; “There a too many things to do and so little time.” Which is a good thing, in my eyes at least.
I agree with the fact that most of players’ attitudes inside the game differ greatly from those in these forums. Which I’m grateful for.
cesmode made this topic just for giggles.
Because you’re not forced to do anything. Don’t want an Ascended, don’t do it then.
Doing a Guild Mission per day also gives 20 Dragonites.
If you guys only knew about FFXIV’s Relic Weapons. The process to make a Legendary in GW2 cannot compare to all the grind you have to do to ATTEMPT (you can fail and lose months of your life) to craft a Relic.
I have had lots of fun playing the game and as some would say “grinding,” but I just feel that I’m playing. Someday I will get my legendary, when I’m able to get the precursor, but for now I’ll get ascended weapons, which are in fact, extremely easy to make.
As for Vayne’s precursors, last year you could buy some precursors at prices as low as 10g, so it’s entirely possible.
Thank you, Jon.
Please keep the Living Story updates coming.
I really like this idea. Maybe they will see it and consider it for a future release.
Please, don’t do this.
I would really like to know what events got added to the game, to see if I’m familiar with them. I’d be happy to give feedback if I actually knew what they were.

These are some of them, I’ve done a couple of them, they are really good. I love the idea of having “evil guilds” around.
And reward for gambits is kinda silly considering that it is not something everyone can do.
You like being rewarded for doing easy tasks? That’s why console games nowadays have achievements for “kill your first enemy” and “booted up the game for the first time!”
There are some really great ideas coming out in this thread. Just thinking of the possibility that ANet may be reading them gets me excited.
I have enjoyed Queen’s Jubilee so far, I agree on some things like the bosses in the ground floor of the pavilion having no story as being disappointing, but I kinda see their appeal too. It’s like kinda like playing Diablo II for drops, some people don’t like it, some spend hours upon hours doing it. But don’t forget that these bosses are just Watchknights in disguise representing enemies of humanity. I kinda supposed that the bosses they represent were infamous humans/creatures from decades ago. Some text back story or even an epic tale of how an Ebonhawke squad fought Shurakk would have been awesome.
The 1 vs 1 bosses are great. Their mechanics as you go up the tiers are pretty cool and make the Gauntlet feel very challenging, which I welcome. Last night I made a couple of friends right there, above the glass dome. We took turns and encouraged each other in our fights. So the wait in queue can be enjoyable if you propose yourself to do it so.
GW2 has its faults, but sometimes its cool to slow down and appreciate the world we’re experiencing. I saw GW1 evolve and get expansions and I trust that ANet know what they’re doing.
Yeah, and then complaining about there being nothing to do.
Try socializing with players who are also watching the matches. Have fun, cheer those fighting. Get into the spirit of the festivities. Let yourself get submerged into Tyria.
