Guild/Guild Hall Idea

Activity Participation. All these little mini-events that you can’t always (if ever) play with friends and/or guildies could be an unlockable for guilds to get, so they can play with friends/guildies. You can put a Person in the guild hall that gives access to the same map that they are already in, and by talking to them, you can be teleported into the activity. You can also add a GvGvG feature to where Guilds can bet items on matches and play each other for said items. Just an idea, but one that I think would increase the fun level a bit. xD

How could we get Superior Sigil of Mischief?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Keira Wildflower.7304

Keira Wildflower.7304

The other reason they are so expensive is because Essence of Mischief is also used to make Chaos Gun. Which so happens to be a precursor for Quip. That is why they are so expensive. Why Anet decided to use two of the same Sigils on two different items, I’ll never know. It’s not like they don’t have tons of other Sigils as options. Changing the requirement for the Winter’s Presence would have been the better move.

Why are downed players gaining health? They are literally just going to die or rally but giving them ample ability to do whatever they want to abuse it, they could dive off of a 100 foot cliff that would kill any player with health and 50% fall damage reduction. That is abusive. And I shouldn’t have taken enough damage to even come out of reaper shroud let alone die completely. It wasn’t even 15 feet.

I recently experienced a pretty stupid bug (Which some tell me is a bug, others tell me it is not. Which is why this isn’t in the bug report section.) wherein I downed a player (elementalist) in wvw and they mistformed off a cliff. The mistform ended as they went over the edge and they were already in a downed state.

Now, the cliff is about the same size as a tower or keep wall. I have walked off tower and keep walls constantly and either don’t take damage or take very little or not enough to be noticeable.

I was in Reapershroud with a good amount of it left and 10k health on top of that.

The elementalist comes out of mistform and falls the same height of the cliff whilst in a downed state. And survives. I had not fallen off the cliff as of yet and thought this should be easy. I was wrong.

With my Reapershroud still active and my 10k health, I cautiously slid down the side in a semi-slow fashion because I am not a wreckless idiot. I slowly stop about 1/4 the way down and continue and the last 1/4 was an early stop of no consequential distance at all. I died.

I asked in map chat if this was a bug and how it could have happened. i was told it was and that it sucks. Which it does.

I also asked some people familiar with the current question. They said it was not a bug and that it is supposed to happen.

I call BS.

Anet, will you please fix this fall damage glitch or bug or whatever it is. And definitely do not allow anyone in a downed state to get away when they are literally at 0 HP and on their dying breath the ability to fall and not die. It is unfathomable that Anet would support such a careless, cheap mechanic at the expense of others.

Thank You

We used to get cool skins like scythe skin and it’s super rare. Now you only get it through random luck in mystic toilet. I’d farm the Clocktower if it had something to look forward too. But even the bag drops are horrendous.

Thank You for giving Mad King’s Clocktower the worst rewards!

I was worried I would spend a lot of time there this year trying to go for an important weapon and possibly cool rare skins or something.

But I never have to worry about that again! I don’t ever have to do the Clocktower more than once a year!

I just want to be able to actually achieve my goal for once. Every time I try to go for it, it gets out of hand and bloody expensive to boot. It’d be nice to achieve something at least every once in awhile. I personally, like the idea of each outfit having individual skin to customize your characters more and still be able to use the original complete outfit if we want.

I doubt Anet would do that, but it’d be nice.

Would it be possible to bring back the Scythe Skin as a drop from Clocktower JP or another way to get it? Buying it seems to be harder than spending 300 hours getting events done or farming enemies. It’s perfectly themed, too.

Same for Deathly Mantle and it’s counterparts. Discontinued items could at least make a comeback in the Gem Store, if even only at certain times of the year like Halloween.

Please. Some of us can’t finish our sets without these items.

If an official Grenth outfit or skins is prepped to be released, could that be theme released too?

I don’t need to be taunted by a 30 – 1 zerg that try showing off their (lack of) skill. I would rather kill myself, then charge back into the fray than be stuck waiting to die since clearly reviving isn’t an option.

Ps. I am a very time efficient individual. This would make it less annoying to fight players and more apt to be a fighter instead of throwing on my Nikes.

Well you could base other guild halls as like a flame legion Titan guild hall, or an asuran eternal Alchemy guild hall, or a sons of Svanir guild hall, Each of the Norn Spirits as a Guild Hall, a Sylvari Pale Tree guild hall, or something like that that is spread out across races. But Humans are a pretty large portion of the population as they were in GW1 so it isn’t too far fetched.

So what builds actually make sense and don’t require 3 keyboards of hotkeys to play? This really shouldn’t be that complicated. When looking through the builds, I found like over a thousand different ways to build a build. I build the most synergetic and get crapped on in seconds. That’s too complicated for little to no results. I prefer to play a utility character that meatshields for my team as they faceroll the opponents. Unfortunately, I’m garbage if I can’t handle the top meta builds one on one.

Keira, here are a few tips for making a build.
1. Build synergy between equipment, traits, and skills. There are a lot of traits that support specific weapons or utilities. Try to get dual use out of as much as you can.
2. Build with a focus on something. There are many types of power builds and a few condition builds. Research what sounds good and try to at least partially optimize it.
3. Try builds posted by other players. These people put effort into developing those builds and sharing them for your benefit.
4. Recognize you cannot have everything you want in a build. There are trades that must be made. Learn which trades give you the best value. Your friend’s healing on condition damage cost something. Is it worth it?
5. Have more than one back up plan. Teleport, condition clears or transfers, stun breaks, invulnerability, things like that help keep bad situations from getting worse.
6. Post your own builds and ask for review and suggestions. It is rare not to have some truly constructive feedback.

Maybe these tips are too vague but I hope they help in some small way.

Most helpful I’ve seen beyond “get gud scrub” comments. I usually have several stun breakers etc. However, No matter how I test my build it falls short of any and every build of solid damage I put it against. I get deleted by the dumbest builds of pure raw power. It’s like 2 naked people fighting each other with the sharpest blades. It’s very heavily a risk-free game. You can escape almost any and every form of damage with dodge rolls, teleports, etc. No commitment to combat. Face rolling on keyboard gaming at it’s finest. I don’t get it.

By my conditions do not heal me, I’m referring to Parasitic Contagion in the Necromancers kit. It is supposed to heal you 10% of your condi damage. It doesn’t work for me, apparently.

You can end a fight because of some form of cooldowns. If there weren’t as many dodges and heals, the fights would be short or cautious. This has basically been a giant assassin glass cannon free for all. First mistake loses. That isn’t fighting, that’s assassination.

I don’t want to be a tank that kills people with ease. I never said that. I want a tank that is VIABLE. A tank that is a meatshield, but does zero damage will lose to a glass cannon every time. My tankiness should be close to there damage in strength. My damage should not be more than their squishiness. THEN it is a match of skill. It is also healthy. If I fight against someone that builds a little less glass cannony than glass cannon and more tanky then I’ll have a harder time killing them. That is the point. It’s supposed to be a slugfest, not a instakill gig.

I cannot find a single build that fits my playstyle in PVP or WVW. Every time I mention this I get told, “Just learn the build’s playstyle.” If it was that simple, there would be no scrubs or noobs.

I’ve scoured each professions builds and their kits. I CANNOT find anything of use that works well together that isn’t kittened in any shape or form.

Example: Necromancers have tons of things that hurt themselves to gain power, but then they end up killing themselves. Nowhere in anything I have studied about Necromancers, have I seen Necromancers that kill themselves to gain power. They kill others to gain power. So why have skills, and a lot of them too, that cause self harm? “I’m gonna hurt myself to hurt you” is quite frankly a dumb idea. The answer to every question of why they wouldn’t be able to use them without the “drawback” is simple. “It’s magic.”

Slow skills (skills that take time to go off instead of happening when you activate them), skills with really long cooldowns in fights that are over in seconds, build passives that proc, but have long cooldowns so they never happen when they are needed, flavor text that is terrible and confuse players, too many heals, too many dodges, too much grace for mistakes, too much burst, no useful tanks, etc., etc.

I personally do not have a playstyle that matches with ANY of the playstyles in the game. I NEVER use death shroud in PVE. The original death shroud put me off because of it’s clunkiness. So now I am learning reaper’s shroud, which I think is really good. But, no matter what build I put together, it just doesn’t seem to work. Try and kill someone and they just heal up like your 10+ second cooldown skills might as well not exist. I don’t know how people got around this, but it irritates the hell out of me.

Revenant Staff skill 5 is another one. Regardless of who you target, whatever direction you are aiming is where you take off to. I hate it. Warrior Greatsword skill 5 takes you to your target, so why not Revenant Staff skill 5? It’s like the skills are designed to not work in a kit and work in a system that doesn’t exist or something.

Drop something and they dodge out of it, like there goes half your kit. Nothing lands and there is another dodge ready to launch while the first is being reloaded. This, alongside healing, is a nightmare to play against. You can play all your wrong skills and misclick anything in the match, but as soon as you need a heal or dodge, you got one and it’s so annoying when the fight goes that way. I could stay in a fight for probably days with how healing and dodges are now. Just time it right, and you are set for life.

I personally have the playstyle of a HyperTank. Basically meaning, I like to survive bursts with plenty of health but still deal some damage. Impossible to have with all the healing in this game, which kittenes me off even more. Why does this game make me stressed out when it is one of my favorite past times? I feel like PVE is all that’s worth playing because the builds don’t make sense and their playstyles are so few and pre-selected. every kit I have seen does Berserker stats. Never have I seen someone use a different set of stats. If you build anything else, you don’t deal damage. If you build tanky, you might as well heal your opponent.

I’ve even tested my build against a friend to see if we are actually using equal builds and how they effect us. His condi’s heal him. Mine don’t. Same build, different players. Shouldn’t matter, but apparently it does. So how are builds made and is it possible to be tanky and fight someone that will heal up everything you do to them?

I had some ideas for Guild Halls that are based off of the 6 gods. Such as:

Dwayna’s Guild Hall would be a green island in the middle of a blue lake with a healing ambiance and relaxing atmosphere. A bright aura in the air.

Grenth’s Guild Hall would be a Necrotic/Ice fortress that has a river of death outside and flowing down the middle with minions all around. Maybe even have areas for the Reapers.

Balthazar’s Guild Hall would be fiery and like a large Forge/Armorsmith/Weaponsmith area with flames and weapons scattered around with corpses and arenas.

Lyssa’s Guild Hall would be like Watery Pillars holding buildings made of water up with beautiful statues of Lyssa and her Illusions with Purple sheens all around.

Kormir’s Guild Hall would be a rock outcropping made of white Marble with Vaults of Truth and Knowledge guarded by Books and libraries all around.

Melandru’s Guild Hall would be a Forest with an open area with Stones jutting out of the ground of all different shapes and sizes with designs and cool scripted nature like scrollwork.

All of these have have their prospective ambiances and relative small things to make them Unique to their god’s. I just wanted there to be room for improvement and more ideas.

Legendary is getting buffs because they are giving ascended better stats because its too expensive to be only a smidgen higher than exotic.

When people get 4 precursors in a month and other players don’t even get exotics worth more than 20 gold in 3 years with same playing time then it’s a little stupid. I understand it’s RNG. But, they could make some adjustment.

Making it easy is not the goal. Making the total items required to make the precursor less than buying the precursor outright is the point. Not even halfway to the precursor and I could nearly buy the precursor with what I spend? Yeah, that’s not good.

I collect things and I’m OCD, if I put effort into it I want some sort of reward. Otherwise it’s pointless.

I had originally searched for a breakdown of how much mats they cost. I couldn’t really find much except like the big items that seemed pretty reasonable to make. But considering I’ve stockpiled for 3 years and I have (had) tons of resources to start, it would have taken me another 3 years with the crafting of the precursor.

I am (was) going for dusk and then on to twilight. It costs about 1200 gold to buy dusk. I was at 622 gold when I decided to craft it because everyone I had talked to said it was just as much, if not cheaper to make. Well it turns out that is a bunch of crap. The first part of dusk cost like 25 elonian leather squares and 25 Deldrimor steel ingots. I had most of both of them, but still had to get more materials.

Part 2 of dusk (the part I am at now) requires 40 deldrimor steel ingots (30 of which are so the “master weaponsmith” can ‘see where I’m at’. Not so I can craft a legendary.) Which in cost of mats is 350 gold approximately. That plus what the cost of mats I have already spent for this is close to the cost of the precursor.

I have zero interest in the new legendaries, and this only cements that. My buddy is making H.O.P.E. and just hearing him talk about it almost made me want to quit Guild Wars 2 entirely. It is beyond ridiculous. Even though he can stockpile so many resources it will still take him a ridiculous amount of time to get what he needs to make it.

I originally started building twilight backwards. I would get the mats for the gifts and have everything I need for a legendary ready so when I got the ever so elusive precurser I could make my legendary. That has now gone to crap. And it is stressing me out and I don’t think I should be. But I have little faith in anet solving this for me sadly so I prolly will never get a legendary now because of this and its worse than it was before so idk what I’m gonna do. I make plans and do them because that’s how I work. But my plans got sideswiped by a freight train.

I tried to do this new stuff you had for precursor making thinking it’d be similar to the same amount of gold it’d cost to buy the precursor, but I’d at least get the experience and the fun of making myself a precursor! This will be an awesome amazing experience!

I was wrong.

It has gone nightmarishly wrong. So far wrong in fact that I am breaking out into anxiety attacks after collecting so much stuff to get myself a precursor and finding out a portion of what I need has no relevance to the precursor but costs nearly a quarter of the precursor it’s self. And it is in the second part of the precursor. And it’s only 10 pieces. That have zero relevance to making the precursor. I will not be able to make progress till I come up with so much gold I could just buy the precursor.

So my request is that you take the achievements away, take the items I’ve made for the precursor stuff, take the recipes away, take the things I’ve bought and crafted with and stash it back on my character or just give me the gold for them and delete theitems or whatever. Just please, RESET MY PRECURSOR HISTORY!!

For the love of all that is pure and holy, I just wasted 3 years, 3 YEARS, and made this mistake because I had no idea that it was this bad. I thought crafting precursors was a good idea! Until I found out how bad of an idea it really is!

I am pleading with you!!! PLEASE!!! I don’t want it to end this way!!! I don’t want anything to do with this crafting precursors thing!!! I just want to be able to reach my goal that will never be fulfilled if I don’t have this reset…

Ok. So I understand that achievements need to be a challenge, I really do. But some of this years are a little ridiculous. Like the Festive Drinking Achievement. 10,000 “holiday” drinks. The amount of wintersday presents I’d have to open up is absolutely ridiculous. I could take 2 weeks vacation off of work and devote my life to Guild Wars 2 for those 2 weeks, AND STILL NOT HAVE ENOUGH TO ACHIEVE THIS. The worst part is, you limited it to holiday drinks, and then put a 2 week timer on it. I don’t have gold for all the drinks I would need to do this. Not too mention I have to work, so I can’t spend as much time as I would like on farming up. The other notable achievement is the candy cane one. It’s more reasonable than the drinks one, but it still is a bit ridiculous. I can’t be the only one to notice this. Why, Anet? Do you hate us players that much?

If you read the threads concerning this issue that have Dev posts, you will find that there is no 2-week timer on this Achievement.

Good luck.

I’m curious to know if you actually tested the creatures in HoT? because, the fruits of your labor are screaming “I was never tested for real-in-game-testing”.

Smokescales: Just slap some power nerfs on these guys and they should be fine, but seriously, so much evading it is ridiculous.

Master Gwyllion: WTF are you thinking!? His mechanics don’t even make sense!! He instakills the whole group, and he takes a massive group to kill him apparently. I have yet to see a successful group yet. He needs a way to be dodged or something. He shouldn’t do 100k damage to go through deathshroud and full health in one hit. the smokescales don’t help. Needs a massive rework.

Any Enemy Frog dude: Shadowstepping is way too broken. Not too mention the amount of stabbings they do you cannot dodge. Let me tell you it sucks. You need to pull back on whatever super damage ideas you have. They instant drop on you and you only get 2 dodges.

Mordrem dissentors (I believe that is what they are called): They are in the instance that get’s you the guild hall. Outrun the fastest player and kills them in 3 hits no matter who they are. I wish I was joking. I don’t know why you guys are obsessed with killing players so much. anyone not a professional player gets wiped on the floor.

Is there a way we can get this to be usable on Back Pieces, Trinkets, Amulets, and Accessories? It is hard enough to get an Ascended Backpiece, but when you need to change the stats to make a different style and the only way to do that is to make another 300 gold (slight exaggeration) Ascended Backpiece with different stats. I won’t go into having an Armory to store Armor that is good armor that can be sent to any character we play, but this makes the transition so much easier for those of us that don’t always know what we want or what we could do even with the Ascended Armor already made. This would help a lot Anet! Please make something doable!

The only time I’ve had issues loading a screen is LA, and that’s regularly. I’m assuming it is because of all the people that are usually in it. Aside from that, it’s usually quick loads and I don’t have a loading screen until I waypoint or go into a new area.

It doesn’t have to be seamless, just have a portal to transition into the next area. I couldn’t think of a reason for Anet to do that since they would have to make the whole map for it. It makes sense that it would be a lot of work to make exact spawning locations when you walk through it anywhere. I was just hoping for an easy way to explain it to him that Anet has their reasons. He says he talked to them already, and said that they just said it’d be too much work but didn’t elaborate beyond that. Which led to his “It’s easy, they are just lazy” comment.

I am having a “discussion” with a friend about “invisible walls” vs “loading screen portals”. He says he understands why there are “invisible walls” in certain areas. He doesn’t get why the Devs haven’t made “loading screen portals” in areas like between Bloodtide Coast and Claw Island. He thinks that he should be able to get to Claw Island from Bloodtide Coast, at any point of the ocean connections where we currently get the “tides pushed you back” text. It should be one huge “loading screen portal”. We also talked about the area outside of The Grove and Southsun Cove. He thinks he should be able to reach The Grove area via Southsun Cove. Or any areas like that. I tried to tell him there isn’t content there, and that there is only one entrance and exit to The Grove. Apparently, when he sees one of these “invisible walls”, he gets kittened it’s not a loading screen.

He is used to games such as the Elder Scrolls series, where it is open world. So I explained the difference between Single Player and MMO games to him. After we got past that, he said he wants to be able to go over mountains (like in Skyrim) if he wants to and should get a “loading screen” once he reaches the other zone. He says he is fine with “loading screens” as long as he can go wherever he wants. He thinks he should be able to do this. He claims it’s simple coding/programming/fill-in-the-blank way to do it. Like a program such as World Edit, where you can make “invisible walls” or make “loading screen portals”. He references YouTube material of people using World Edit on Counter Strike to show how easy it is. He thinks the Devs are just lazy. I tried to explain how it isn’t a big deal and that he is nit-picking (which he denies).

My questions to the Devs are these:

Is it really that simple? Is there a reason that Guild Wars 2 wasn’t designed this way? What would be required to make it this way? Are programs, like World Edit, not compatible with Guild Wars 2? Is there something preventing you from being able to do this? Or is it just not something you feel like doing?

Thanks in advance for taking time to read and/or reply to this, as I know you are all busy with the HoT release.

But that’s not a Guardian lol. I’m trying to be a Unit Focused Guardian that Can hamper Enemy Players, so my team can kill them.

Is it possible to build a Guardian that can chill indefinitely with Critical Chance? If so, What Attributes would I use and what Runes, Sigils, Accessories, etc? What Build Path would be appropriate for it as well?

Is it possible to find the Spinal Blades Pack Blueprint anywhere? or buy it from a vendor? I have tons of spinal blades and I want to be able to make another backpiece. I can’t because I need the first piece.

If it is not available, could you make a vendor that provides these things so it gives meaning to all the spinal blades we get in the current Mordrem Guard Invasion Event?

Please Anet! I don’t want to think that I wasted so much time doing an event that I cannot benefit from!!

Currently, you have a system that will take hundreds of years instead of four days to complete for the casual player.

Here is the current setup you have:
Reward Distribution (from Dulfy)
You get 20 bonus Mordrem Blooms per day per map and a Vine-Covered Crate containing Memories of Scarlet Box or Arid Dusty Satchel. In addition, depending on your individual event completion, you can get some extras.
If you get 0-4 stacks of the Invasion Defender buff, you get 0 Mordrem Blooms
If you get 5-9 stacks of the Invasion Defender buff, you get 5 Mordrem Blooms
If you get 10-19 stacks of the Invasion Defender buff, you get 10 Mordrem Blooms
If you get 20-30+ stacks of the Invasion Defender buff, you get 15 Mordrem Blooms
This means that you can get 60 Mordrem Blooms from the daily for 3 maps and then anywhere from 0-15 Mordrem Blooms per map depending on how many Invasion Defender buff stacks you get.

My recommendation is simple.
1 Mordrem Bloom per successful event completed in the 0-4 stacks, 0 bonus stacks of Mordrem Blooms.
2 Mordrem Blooms per successful event completed in the 5-9 stacks, 5 bonus stacks of Mordrem Blooms.
3 Mordrem Blooms per successful event completed in the 10-14 stacks, 10 bonus stacks of Mordrem Blooms.
4 Mordrem Blooms per successful event completed in the 15-19 stacks, 15 bonus stacks of Mordrem Blooms.
5 Mordrem Blooms per successful event completed in the 20-24 stacks, 20 bonus stacks of Mordrem Blooms.
6 Mordrem Blooms per successful event completed in the 25-29 stacks, 25 bonus stacks of Mordrem Blooms.

This will give more meaning to the Grind that you have made and less complaints about what people are getting when it comes to Blooms. Goals will actually be reachable, even or the super casual player that has a job.

Do you have a link? I do not see a “Refund Request” anywhere. I found “Refunds”, but it only includes buying the game and accidentally purchasing gems.

I recently purchased the white wings in the black lion trading company. Then, without realizing it, I bought it again. And not the gift one (which I wasn’t intending to get anyways). So I would like the second white wings set (that is still not opened, or “unpacked”) removed from my inventory and the 500 gems credited to my account.

I would also like to make a recommendation for the future to prevent this situation from happening again to anyone else. On certain items that are only purchasable one time you have a limit to what they can buy. If you make that limitation for everything that is not a repeatable buy (ie. black lion keys, dye kits, etc.) and make it so you can’t accidentally (as I did) buy them again and not be able to use it.

I have put lots of money into this game and I believe all the players that have done the same would appreciate this move. Thank you for your help.
