HoT is seriously boroken, next to no one is playing it anymore, so there isn’t enough people to form effective groups anymore even if you don’t want to play solo. The real problem is the maps not just the difficulty balance. This place is the NO FUN ZONE as I’ve said before. Oh and yes Ive played HoT before the update. I dragged my necro through this grinding ordeal since day one until I finally maxed reaper. And as things stand even after the so called April update. I’m not going to take my alts back in. Anet needs to do what S-E did with FF14. Take HoT offline , take it apart and rebuild it from the ground up. They can rerelease it in a year or two and call it HoT: Reborn or Restored or whatever.
I’m having the exact same crash problem. For me it started with the update yesterday. My system is 7 64 bit with 10 gigs of ram and a 2 gig Radeon. The strange thing is that I have no problems playing my secondary acct which is non HoT. The crashing seems only to happen when I play my Main acct which is HoT.
Fun factor? About a 3. There’s just more frustrating gameplay getting thrown around with everyone else and grinding for what I don’t have any idea. No reason to log in anymore, just to look at my chars; they are quite pretty.
Rev at this point is pretty Meh! The only melee weapon worth a two cents is the quarterstaff. Still damage to veterans and elites is non existent. I hope that this isn’t going to be some lame warrior melee class. I seriously doubt that I’ll be playing this class on day 1 of the expansion.
It would be helpful if they would at least give a price so we could see how much it sets us back. I’ve got a number of games to upgrade but not infinite bucks.
The whole trait system is a disaster! Not only do you have to pay gold and silver for the traits but also a lot of skill point. I’ve had to delete half my alts because I know that I can never afford to level them completely. This game has suddenly gotten too expensive for my blood. I’m so heartsick about this update that I’ll prolly never want to log in again. I wish all you hoity toitys with credit cards and nothing but time on your hands good luck, I’m moving on.
What ever happened to being satisfied with what you have? I gave up on legendaries long ago. I’m satisfied just trying to craft ascendeds, they’re hard enough for me.
What this is really about is control and money! First the devs wish to force us to play the game they want us to play instead of the game we want to play, ( which is in contradiction) to the purpose of the game as stated at launch. Second, for those that balk or have no interest in being manipulated, they can buy at exorbitant prices the right to be excused from the common lot of everyone else. Anet dresses this extortion in language expressing concern for the suckers they are about to take. This is really shabby and will prolly influence my decision to find my entertainment elsewhere. And btw, I can’t believe the number of idiots lining up in order to be fleeced LoL.
I have one Lvl 80 just before the last mission. I don’t intend on completing it tho even if I could find a group. It just isn’t worth it. The whole PS line is tacked on crap, and I’m not really missing anything. The rest of my chars are going through the main game and only doing a few of the PSs. I do wish that if Anet wants to keep this crud as content that they would fix the UI so that the missions could be removed from view. I don’t like being reminded that the personal story was part of what I bought when I got the game.
I’ve got the same kitten prob with my norn guardian. In hoelbrak (home) loading screen crash. Have to pull up task manager to get out of the game. I really don’t know why I keep playing, every time they update something the game goes to hell.
