You can buy soldier pieces with your badges and a bit of coin, from WvW vendors.

Hehe so you can afford a few sets.
For the leggings you will have to get them with badges as they are not available from any Orr karma vendor.

I’m new to ranger and have never liked being focused on pets (EG: I use a spectral power necro instead of minionmancer.) is there a build that uses great sword that doesn’t rely on pets, it is nice to have the pet for sure because it is added damage and is fun to have that extra threat besides just your character, but I don’t want to be totally dependent on it for my gameplay.

WARNING: This build will make you lazy and will cause EVERY thief you encounter to RAGE and just about every other profession to hightail it as far as possible away from you. As long as you learn to predict incoming burst you won’t get killed by any single player. When you die, it will be from multiple players and because they chained immobilise on you.

Cempa, I see you slot some Knight gear but in the end you have low crit chance and damage (20% both).

Do you think it is worth it to invest in precision if you are not going to take it higher than that?

Or maybe the precision should be dropped in favor of more healing power?

I am glad to see you are having success with a full Cleric build because I currently use Cleric armor (Dwayna runes as well) with other trinkets and weapons and I did not knew if going full cleric was a good idea.

Most other high Healing Power build are conditions so I was wondering if DD was viable.

Can you share your build? Or just the big lines if you don’t have it in a builder.

GUFF thank you for your comments. We basically posted at the same time so I had not seen them yet.

Sigil of hydromancy seems a good option, especially since I was killed by a bow ranger just last night.

I did not knew a single leap skill could trigger 2 combos, I have to switch back to healing spring.

For WvW this is approximately what I am aiming for:

So in short:
High armor.
High power, 40% crit chance and a little above 50% crit damage.
A little over 500 healing power.

The traits are not set in stone, I often change them but I always keep 30 in Nature and I try to keep at least 20 in skirmishing for the precision and crit damage.

I still miss 2 ascended trinkets and the Valkyrie weapons.
I currently use Zerker weapons.
I am still not sure what sigils I’ll pick.

Now you have to know I just made a comeback to the game so I am not a pro at all.

I need your help to understand how some conditions builds, like the new RePort-331, can manage to apply a lot of conditions.

FYI I have played since launch as either a full GC or (lately) with a mix of cleric-knight gear to get good regen and decent crits.

I look at the weapon sets and utility skills and there are so few conditions applied. And here I am talking about the damaging conditions (bleed, poison, burning).

Sword MH has poison.
Dagger OH has a poison and 3 stacks of bleed on a 15 sec (or less with traits) timer.
Axe can apply many stacks of bleeds.
Torch has tons of burning.

With the torch we can have near permanent burning on a target, however the number of bleeds we can apply seems really low.

So in the end, most damage comes from?

what all does your build entail? ive been messing around with babble myself , Mixing muddy terrain,technobabble,Dog/Wolf and entangle makes a great mass CC build Rotation.

Best setup i’ve found so far with it is Clerics

30 Skirmish/30 Wilderness/10 Nature’s

Don’t bother with Muddy Terrain, Dog/Wolf is alright, though I feel with the setup you need more damage as its non condition based.

Shortbow/Greatsword with Signet of Hunt/Signet of Wild/Techno, Build sort of like you’d do a Bunker Ranger with Rune of Dywana, Sigils you want a Power one, and usually Lightning or Weapon Swap Chill.

I actually prefer Drakes still, though Spiders also work very well…

Technobabble with Moment of Clarity is 4 seconds, then you have the Shortbow/Greatsword Dazes/Stuns and it adds up….Time it right and you can chain lock down someone to death.

What if I am not playing as Asura? Is there any possibility of making a similar build, for example, a build with runes of mesmer?

Pain Inverter and Technoblade really make me regret rolling a Norn

But you have that one elite that’s essentially “I was losing a fight? NO I WASNT!!! I wasn’t even NEAR that fight!” It makes thieves weep about how kittenty their disengages are compared to that thing xD

I’d rather use my elite to win the fight…

Anybody plans to try out celestial armor?

I am currently getting Celestial trinkets and I am doing so to be able to switch from one type of build to another without the need to change 100% of my equipment.

However I do not know if I would go 100% celestial.

I already have quite a few armor sets so I do not know if I should get yet another one…

How high can corn go??

Mid-week I noticed a new guild on NSP: Armata [ARMA].

They were part of Titan alliance and they must have switched server when the alliance disbanded.

They seem rather good and they had a little zerg just on their own.

If they are in WvW like that everyday it will make a difference for NSP for sure.

Guys, don’t buy the 50% Magic farm gem store boost.

The best is to get 6 runes to raise your MF to 60% passive. (you can still eath omnomberry bars on top of this to bring it to 100%).

You can do so be getting 5 Superior Runes of the Pirate and 1 Superior Rune of the Traveler (or vice versa).

However the Pirate runes are currently worth 50% of the Traveler runes so 5 Pirates is a much better idea.
