Chances are like most players your over estimating skill or misreading games. Everyone complains about matchmaking but most ppl are playing with others around their skill lvl and even out in MMR where they should be after enough games
There are either not enough tiers or they are not fully using the 2100 rating points they have right now. There are only ever about 10-20 ppl on legend at any time and it seems like a huge amount of active players hover around 1.5-1.6k rating. I feel like they would benifit from a blizzard like tier system with more tiers I.e plat, diamond, master GM top(*)
I would feel more accomplished when climbing also as right now being 1 of the 10 legends seems unnatainable but 1 of the majority plats seems meh.
And before I am harassed by saying that a superficial sense of accomplishment is very important to keeping a larger more engaged player base and benefits everyone
no lol

This is very frustrating. I know we have heard from the devs, but not in any sort of definitive manner. Just we hear you, we may or may not do anything about it in the manner of weeks. I have to say I wish they would come out and say, This is how it is suck it up or We are actively working to fix this. Either way Ill only be checking the game and forums for a few more days before I just give up and stop playing completely.
PvP WvW player, (like most of us did not have map completion) and Im still 250 HPs away after playing around 40 hrs. And thats just on 1 of 7 characters…..
Colin please ignore feedbacks. Just let us know your ignoring them so we can move on for good and stop holding out hope. I will not be asking for a refund but the countless gems ive bought over the yrs and planned on buying in the future will be no longer.

the problem comes down to this. If Anet doesnt change this they will lose many more players and money than if they do change it. People like Raziel are not going to stop playing if they make elite specs easy to get but people like me will

heres the difference, i pay for the fairies in guild wars 2, and no bodies argument no matter HOW good it is can make me keep giving them money. ive made up my mind, i left feedback so my opinion could be heard by those who make decisions.
Everyone else paid too, you’re not entitled to special treatment.
Those who disagree with you are simply pointing out why your request is out of place, if you’re able to counter such arguments you’d have a fruitful discussion. If you don’t want others to counter what you say and go back and forth then maybe you should avoid a public forum.
The changes you want would affect everyone, not just you.
There’s the reason to argue, the arguments have been already made.
Its an easy refute. You cant compare GW2 to other MMOs. So the Ive yet to see any MMO argument is null. That’s because GW2 has built its brand on not being like that. So score one you like other MMO’s now.
Also they have always promoted play how you want, dont grind experience the content how you want but now they are forcing you to play pve or play wvw for ludicris amounts of time. In the original game they let you lvl obtain all skill just through crafting. Tomes of knowledge skill scrolls, PVP, PVE, WVW. This is no longer the case.
You all would have great points if this was another MMO, I wouldnt bat an eye if this happened in WOW or Final Fantasy, But when you built your brand counter to this and a day before launch reveal the 400 HP req it feels like your slapping everyone who loved you in the face

[quote=5662657;Raziel.4216:]
Its sadly comical how they gated and divided the two areas with the heart of thorns. My favorite part about GW2 was that I could pvp “play the game how I wanted” then venture casually into pve. Even play one character to level up my other Alts in pvp then WvW or anything else for a bit then go back.
Now when I want to roam WvW solo or just hang out in pve for a while I cant. I feel like Anet is leaving money on the table. I spent a lot in the gem store over the yrs but with only acess to half the game now it seems like a nonstarter to buy gems.
Do not worry If you buy the Xpac you dont really get to use the elites either lol
no heart of thorns made gw2 an actual mmo
If you want to play an “actual MMO” there are much much better ones. I dont tho, thats why most ppl love GW2 Anet seems to have forgotten that.
The problem is GW2 built its community on the very oposite of this. If this was another MMO no one is bothered, But thats why we play GW2 and not another MMO so we can avoid this nonsense

It costs 60 to unlock it.
The 400 cost is to get ALL of it.
What’s the point of giving you all of it when you need something to progress with? It’s an MMORPG, you’re bound to grind and work towards your rewards.
Essentialy your right your bound to grind towards rewards in MMO’s. BUT Gw2 has built its name against that. “we’ll leave the grinding to other MMOs” and If i wanted to grind and run a XP/ Gear treadmill Ill go back to play WOW.
Anet has take a strong stand against gear treadmills grinding and with the new expac Increasing the level cap to absurd-um but after playing I feel hugely miss-led.
The elite specs behind large hero point cost and those behind mastery cost makes your char essentially start from lvl 60 again which is a fancy tricky way of increasing the lvl cap without having to admit to increasing it. That with the fact that the elite spec cost werent announced until the day before launch troubles me and makes me lose some of the goodwill anet has earned from me over the life of Gw2
Nope, it isn’t about wanting to “get everything at launch”. It’s about being FORCED to play in areas of the game that you have zero interest in playing FOR HOURS. As a WVW/sPVP player there is no way, that i’m aware of, to get enough hero points to unlock the elite specialization without playing the content that is being ramrodded our way.
If the jungle content was indeed so amazingly fun then they shouldn’t have to force you to play it should they?
So, “just enjoy it”… enjoy WHAT exactly?
Once again someone is complaining without a solution. What’s your solution?
Solution 1 make it much easier and quicker to get the elite’s unlocked. 2 Put hero points in Spvp tracks. 3 Just give us what we paid for.
I am praying the devs dont keep this ludicrous grind for elite specs. It has really destroyed my enjoyment of the game and seems counter to everything the devs have established with gw2. Play how you want what you want the way you want is dead i guess
I have been playing all day and am quickly realizing this just isnt for me. I have played since Gw2 came out almost exclusivley in wvw and pvp. And i know that you can unlock the specs in wvw but its just a crazy long grind. Unnecessarily Im hoping and praying Anet changes this it seems counter to everything they build and stand for with Gw2
