Don’t worry, rewards are the same no matter in what place you finish.
Not when there isn’t enough time left to get to the end. Then you get nothing.
Just to let u know loads of us bugged through the gates inner and outer of blue keep through no fault of our own. We jumped str8 back over the wall and encouraged anyone else who bugs through to do the same, we do not support exploits/glitches. However if anyone did stay or used this to their advantage (which i dont think they did, because we made it quite clear in chat to get out) then shame on them. Me personally glitched through around 5 times and every time got str8 out, and would expect the same from any other fellow shiverpeaker.
Yeah, those gates can be glitchy. Yesterday four Blacktide guys came in through the gate of our (WSR) keep in EB as well. Only they didn’t leave, but tried to build an AC instead.
Sooo what you’re saying is having people defend a tower is wrong? I mean they are keeping other people away from that PoI, and it’s needed for map completion, so they are effectively blocking other players from game content. Yeah, very childish. How dare they.
Or, we can just be sensible about this and realize that Obsidian Sanctum has been a terrible addition to WvW as it has only been a source of grieving since day one. You cant blame the PvE players for going there because they want to get it for achievement reasons, you cant blame the PvP players because killing other players is the core of WvW. That leaves you with the option of blaming Anet for either not having the fore-sight to predict this would happen, or having the bad idea of thinking this kind of grieving would be fun.
Interesting interpretation to say the least.
Defending a tower is an actual part of WvW, unlike just standing around with the sole purpose of ganking people in the jumping puzzle. That’s just being an kitten . The point I was trying to make is exactly that, that the gankers and the ones getting ganked take spots on the map from those who actually do want to defend and attack the towers.
And the map completion isn’t a temporary part of the game, so you can’t really compare those two.
And I do agree with you there that the JP should never have been put there in the first place. But I guess I’ve been a fortunate one with that so far and never had to deal with gankers there before. Just some fights where the winner moves on with the puzzle.
Also might get some players to try WvW.
More likely to do the exact opposite.
Obsidian Scantum Achievement made me report 20 people, at that point I stopped counting and I am still lieing on the ground, reporting everyone who lays a hand on my mates.
Sorry what? Hahah now this is totally kitten, really reporting for DA BAD GUY KILLED ME! PUNISH ‘EM! =’(
Please, grow up.
Yes, because when a group of people just standing at one point doing nothing but keeping people away from content sounds so very grown up. Like I said in the other thread, it has nothing to do with actual WvW, where you take and defend objectives for points. Both of these groups take up valuable spots from the actual WvW’ers. The gankers don’t help their server one bit, and the ones the’re ganking aren’t doing much either. Why not just let people get their achi so they can move on. The gankers might want to try fair fights instead and join the battlefield, much more fun.
While I generally have no problem if there’s some fighting while doing the WvW JPs, it is the nature of that after all. But this is just bad. It has nothing to do with actual WvW that the same group of people just stand there and make it impossible for others to get the achievement.
Usually I’ve only had to fight some 1v1 or 2v2 fights there, and then the winning party moves on. This is not the case now since many more people will come there to get the achievement. And people who are not there to WvW, or aren’t familiar with the puzzle. This is just an open invitation to bullies and kittens to make life miserable for others.
Yeah, so… after almost 2 hours of wiping at the first boss I finally decided to call it quits. Could certainly do without the golems pulling. Fun times… not.
Time for that famous ban hammer to swing again in my opinion. Gladly I only lost 2G before I realized some ele was cheating. But still, not like money is too easy to come by in this game.
I got one from the second crate I got. Only had about 8-10 crates in total during this event, but I was never really farming them either. Anyways, got a scepter for my necro, couldn’t really think of any other class those weapons would really fit.
Never bought any town clothing before, but I just immediately had to buy that pink quaggan hat when I saw it. Now if my Asura mesmer could only show that hat during combat it would be awesome.
Last night I logged in quite late and realized I hadn’t done my daily pvp yet. And since it was late I didn’t have any of my usual friends online so I decided to solo queue for the tournament. It was anything but fun!
After over 1,5 hours of playing I finally managed to get the second win, the first came in the second match. And yes, I know I didn’t have to get those 2 wins to complete the daily, but that would have been like a job left unfinished if I had left that at 50% completed.
But the point is, that pretty much all the matches were my team, all just random ppl vs. a team. I was so close to quitting a few times, because it is just absolutely no fun at all when you come to the point when it’s really all the same if you even run back to the battlefield. So as long as this kind of grouping is possible, I can totally understand why some people just leave mid match. Though I also think there should be some time limit at least before you can queue back again, but I doubt that would stop people leaving just the same.
I just fear that this will alienate even more players away from the pvp. When you get a pug vs. team five times in a row, it’s unlikely that particular player ever even wants to come back and try pvp again.
I had the same problem. Everything worked perfectly fine before the update, but after downloading it all I got was a black screen.
All I had to do was to update my graphic card drivers, now it works as it did before. I suggest trying that, worked for me at least.
I was actually wondering this myself a while back that how on earth do people who play on Vabbi (EU) for example, ever get their world completion. I don’t think I’ve seen them move from the last spot in… well ever.
I got the 100% completion on two characters and have been trying to get it on my third as of late. The first two characters were easy as we were the dominant server in our tier, in all maps mind you, very often. But now that we moved up in the world it’s not as easy anymore. It’s still very much doable, just not as easy as it were when were dominating.
But I really feel for those who have been stuck in the last tier for a very, very long time. I’m all for the randomizing the colors on a regular basis.
“Dude, where’s my chugger?”
Wild night of drinking at the moot sets a Norn and a Charr to retrace their steps to locate the missing vehicle.
I just thought that personal story line was so funny. Would be fun to see what actually went down that night.
I didn’t find WoW to be any friendlier. At least question wise. Whenever someone asked something there, the first few answers were almost always… well less than helpful.
There certainly was more activity in the chats in WoW, that’s for sure. But I’ve always gotten an answer in GW2 chats if I had something to ask. And whenever some group event starts, it’s very often informed in the map chat, even without having to ask if there was any events going on in that particular map.
The only other MMO I have experience in, besides this and WoW, is Star Wars: Old Republic. Now that was a quiet game. The chats in GW2 are much livelier than I ever saw in SW:TOR.
Monthly achievements aren’t mandatory to complete. It’s not like if you don’t do them they delete your account.
They kind of are if you don’t want to be left out of the 10 laurels. The previous reward system was more forgiving. You didn’t really miss out on something you couldn’t get in some other way. And since laurels, at least for the moment, are only gotten through dailies and monthlies, that 10 is quite a lot of laurels to miss out on if you don’t do the monthly.
I never liked the WvW or fractals being in the monthlies either. But it didn’t matter so much before. Now that you get laurels from monthlies, it does matter. Since the point was always that you can play how you like to play and not be left behind in anyway. Now people are kind of “forced” to do things they don’t like, if they want those 10 laurels. 10 days worth of dailies.
I only ever tried GW1 for a few days, and that was just before the release of GW2. I was trying to make up my mind if I should get this game or get MoP and continue with WoW. I’ve played WoW for over six years or so, and decided to go with GW2 and try something else too.
At first I loved this game, and I still like in many ways. But lately, I’ve felt more bored than having any fun. After I leveled my first character to level 80, I got the world completion and did some WvW. Then I just couldn’t think of anything meaningful to do with that character anymore. So I started another one, and again I was enjoying the game more. Different race, profession, order and after the pact was formed, all the different choices than the previous one. But again, after getting the world completion, nothing to do. Bored.
I’m not interested in starting to farm for a legendary, the things required are way more than I’m willing to do just for a mere cosmetic change on my weapon. I already like how my weapons look.
I know that since I’ve spent 6 years with WoW and have put a lot of my time and money in that, that has a lot to do with my opinion. But even though this is a great game in many ways, some hook to keep me interested is missing. I’m waiting for the next update to come, but if I still feel bored, I think I’ll go back to WoW.
But that is just my opinion.
After trying the clock tower way over a hundred times and getting nothing for it, only gave this one two tries and I’m not going to try again. I play games to have fun, I don’t find it fun to grind the same puzzle over and over again for hours, and still not make it through. But I’m glad that once again this is not required for getting the title.
I decided to give up just so I won’t actually break anything. Clocked over a 100 tries and I just can’t do it. Not my idea of fun to fall to my ‘death’ over and over and over again. You can keep your achievement for all I care anymore.
